cant play videos in stock players - Eee Pad Transformer General

When selected it only darkens the screen...but nothing
Plays fine on mobo player.
Tried recording and playing, but get the same issue. I can open and play it on the movie editor app..
So much for being anxious about the damn update

Are you updated to 3.2 ? Sounds like some people had problems with the 3.2...

Nego_0, it works UNTIL you restart your TF. Once you restart, it is back to needing to apply your fix again. Again, it is fine until you restart. Try it.
The problem seems to be when it needs to load the "complete action using" screen for the user to choose the program, the screen does not show up. If you apply the fix Nego_0 is suggesting it will work. The you can choose the default player such as Moboplayer and then it will always load through Moboplayer as you select your file even after restarting. This bug is reported and members are actively looking for a solution. For now the work around seems to be choose a default player.

I was reading a lot of TF users about this bug after the 3.2 update, I have a WW version and just updated to 3.2 a few hours ago, hoping my TF will not show this kind of bug, BUT to my dismay I am now one of those experiencing videos not playing in the gallery, I just have to dismount from the dock and rotate my TF everytime I boot up from now on or have to choose another player as a default to by-pass this issue. But I was wondering why others did not experience this bug. I updated mine attached to the dock. I am just wondering those who did not experience this video bug maybe they updated to 3.2 without the dock. If anyone who doesnt have this video bug can please confirm if you updated to 3.2 attached to the dock or not. Thanks.

This is not a TF specific bug. The issue also occurs in the XOOM version of 3.2.
If you select a default video, image, browser, etc app you will not experience this bug since there is no need to ask you which application to use to complete the task. This is why some people see the bug and some people do not, and why it seems to only happen with certain types of files.

Galaxy S2 Hidden Bugs

I have been using the phone for 3 weeks now and have discovered the following bugs that no one reported till now:
- List View in the menu causes the app drawer to crash then return back to grid view
- Overall volume (Ringtone, Music..etc) becomes low after using the phone for sometime
- Opening more than 3 windows in the browser causes a freeze with a white screen (rotating the screen to landscape then to portrait again fixes the issue)
- Pressing the call button on my MW600 bluetooth headset causes the phone to crash
I will update more in the future, but for now I only got those
Firmware: JPKF3
I have had none of these.

List view has been reported by other users too. I didn't encounter any of those problems till now.
It might be worth adding info about your firmware version etc

List view also happens a lot on HTC phones
I have another one:
- Accuweather doesn't work in the bedside clock app. Somehow it can't get a connection.

From within the app, have you gone in to Settings>AccuWeather>Auto refresh and made sure it's enabled?
Flash 10.3 (update) quirkiness/slight incompatibility with some flash video formats?
- I find MPEG decode artifacts with h264 flash videos e.g. videos on BBC news website.
Gives subtle but noticable flickering horizontal lines during playback, particularly when lots of contrast difference within the video.
Only fix is to uninstall Flash 10.3 back to slower 10.1.
(Firmware KE7 and now KF2)
A weird touchscreen issue on the contacts page, swipe all the way down and you get a delay in swiping back up after the bounce:/

I've had the list crash issue too (stock rom).

Crackle update fixes A500

Seems like the latest Crackle update has resolved issues with the A500 not being able to display video. I have been waiting on this for a while. (sorry if this has already been reported)
Nice ive been waiting on this...i searched but cannot find the new app, nor the update. Care to share?
Since it is a free app, I'm assuming it is ok to share it here.
Here it is...
Crackle
However, I only get audio, no video.
Running Taboonay 2.2
Anybody getting video?

No video or sound for me, just black screnn.
I downloaded straight off the market.
Running taboonay 2.2 w/ richards 3.7.
Works but finicky on startup
Im running market version of crackle on stock 3.2.
Its kind of quirky.....if you open the app and choose your movie or show, you will then get a split screen. black screen with blue swirling circle at top and movie info at bottom.......when you see this just hit the home button to exit out of the app.
Then reopen the crackle app and wait a few seconds and the movie will start.
Tap on the movie to see the full screen button at lower right.
Works every time on my machine.

Changes in Update 3.2

Hey guys,
So I recieved the new 3.2 update today on my US Wifi Galaxy Tab 10.1 and there's a few changes that I have already noticed:
1. Samsumg removed the bouncy effect (similar to the one the was in Apple devices) that was in the browser, settings menu, Android Market, and anything that scrolled and has replaced the effect with the normal Android effect of a blue highlight that gets bigger as you try to scroll more at the end of the page (Possibly has to do with Samsung vs. Apple court case?)
2. Now when you're watching a video on youtbe and using full screen the bottom bar is fully gone and there isn't that random line that was there before !
3. The menu button looks a bit different in the Android Market and Youtube app, almost bolded or popped out (no new Android market btw. It's the same old one so we still don't have access to the music store from the Android Market).
4. Now when you click on a contact icon, when the list of all possible things of contacting them (Google Voice, Google Maps for directions, Gmail, Twitter, etc) shows up entirely and you don't have to scroll left and right).
5. QuickOffice HD seems to have been updated (but not to the newest 5.0 version that is on the Android Market). The icon has also changed and now it says "Pro" and "HD" on it (which is what the Android Market version icon is like)
6. Browser seems a bit faster but I'm not sure about that. And the tablet in general feels overall faster.
Anything else that you guys have noticed? (Besides the button that changes app screen sizes that normally comes with 3.2)
Aboutebug settings changes now seems to stick.
all share is available.
Web browser seems alot snappier. App drawer and pages scroll smoother aswell.
Good morning all!
I'm glad that you got the update on your Tabs. Can I ask you what the better if I fill up its batteries and then update it, or if I plug it in and until filling up I'm updating? Did you notice any problems while updating? Is this update deleted anything from your device? Or everything stayed the same?
There's a little icon next to the clock to turn an app into full screen
This update was for the WIFI version only right?
Allshare is present now
does the screen shout button function can be changed? , like in galaxy tab 7.7 its function can be changed and also the mini apps can be edited or even removed in the 7.7 ?
how is there no updated market YET??
The browser definitely is faster.
Has anyone had issues with home screen auto rotate lag? I updated to 3.2 and it now takes 2 - 3 seconds to rotate. With 3.1 it was almost instantaneous. I also tried the widespread fix by long pressing the home screen and choosing a section other than add widget with no results. This is very frustrating.

Yes, it is especially noticeable when you turn your tab 180 degrees in one motion. ( top becomes bottom)
OK, so I decided to change my wallpaper from a static image to a live wallpaper and the rotation improved immensely. That is so counter-intuitive, but see if you can re-create it.

The Market update comes with Android 3.2.1.
I just noticed that Swipe is present after 3.2 update. Was it present before 3.2?

Yes. It was present in the Touchwiz 3.1 update
Dice player compatibility, anyone? 3.2 wifi user reported diceplayer broke in this ver. I'm on 3.2 3g and it fixed video playback with diceplayer. I was having issues with 3.1 previously.
Id like to add.
Previously on 3.1, 180 degrees rotate will make a 90 + 90 rotation
With 3.2,it fades out and inverts the screen, and fades back in.
Hope this information is useful.
Agreed with all of the above.
However, I get a lot of gapps Force Closes. Can anyone suggest anything besides a full wipe?

twitchy browser, zooms in out while scrolling?

Does anyone else have this annoyance?
While scrolling up or down the browser will sometimes zoom in and out of its own accord.
Is there a fix or tweak for this please. ?.
I have tried other browsers, same problem...
It is normal. Touch wiz has edge zoom on the edge of the browser window. I and many others hate this feature with the burning passion of a thousand exploding stars. There is no fix on stock for this known to me. The only thing you can do is invision the fleas of a hundred camels all bitting the genitalia of the nimconpoop who thought this was a good idea.

It's by design and it's gone with the latest JB update (LL3).
I must be one of the few who used this... I mean, it IS an annoyance during normal use but if you pair the tablet with a BT mouse (which is extremely useful to me on some occasions) it's very useful because you can zoom in and out without touching the screen.
Anyway, it works (worked) only on the stock browser, on Chrome, Opera or any other one it doesn't (never has).
Just to clarify, this happens on me when scrolling from anywhere on the screen not just from the side? And with other browsers...
Did they deliberately go out of their way to make it twitchy?

Then you must have some other problem..
I have never used my N8000 under ICS because the day I bought it was the day they released JB for the N8000 ( :highfive: ) so I updated it as soon as I got it out the box but on the 2 versions of JB I have been running the tablet was/is almost perfect.
I recently updated to LL3 ITV (the Italian one) and then flashed through Mobile Odin Pro the CWM 6.0.2.3 (the touch version) to complete the update. The update solved the only problem I had with LJ9 which I have been running since I bought the tablet 2 months ago: the keyboard lag (and a problem in the gallery displaying high-res pics has been fixed too).
Very welcome changes are also more MultiWindow apps (and among them Youtube finally!), the return of the S-Note widget which lets you display a note on the home screen and some other minor features which can be enabled under settings.
Polaris was also updated (the update was previously shown as available in Samsung Apps but attempting to actually updating it resulted in Polaris FC'ing) and now the system OTA update check works even if the system is rooted and has a non-original recovery.
BTW, I usually do full wipes and a clean install but out of sheer lack of time this one time I have updated through Mobile Odin Pro (and have kept root). Everything runs beautifully but, again, apart from the annoying keyboard lag I really didn't have any real problem before too.
What a fantastic tablet.

Yea it still zooms in other browsers for me as well. But if its zooming away from the e6dge try a factory reset id say.

Weird Video on SlingPlayer

I'm getting some weirdness while using Slingplayer on my Samsung S7 Edge. I do not have this problem with my Nexus 6. It's quite distracting. I took a video since it's easier than explaining it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGUfh6tFk_g
Any feedback would be great.
/edit/ Basically, there's a green "screendoor" look whenever the video has the slingplayer overlay and when I change channels the entire video goes green while the same thing on my Nexus 6 is fine with the slingplayer overlay and just black video feed when changing channels. I'm actually pretty surprised no-one else has reported something similar since I can't be the only Samsung S7 user that also has a slingplayer.
I will also add that sometimes the green overlay also happens in slingplayer when I'm streaming and no Slingplayer menu is up...
Looks like you may have to update your video codecs for this player to work.

Any suggestions on how to do that? Furthermore, how would I get Slingplayer to use the updated codecs? I believe the video codecs Slingplayer uses are self-contained...
Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?
FYI, others have reported on the youtube video they had similar issues on their S7. One person mentioned the greenscreen started happening after a Samsung update on an ATT phone (mine is a Tmo). That sucks since I'd think it'll take alot longer for Samsung to fix their code than Sling...
Tmo's recent update did not resolve this. It included other fixes (power/volume? issue, etc).
Update: there is a way to fix this. Thanks to "JG 3" at youtube:
Enable Developer Mode, go in to Developer Options and enable the option called "Turn off hardware overlays" (Always use GPU for screen compositing).
For those more knowledgeable than me: will this impact battery life and is there a way to enable this only when launching Slingplayer?
