Hi guys, I didn't want to post in the development thread, not to pollute it
So here is my situation, i currently have SalsaSense RC3 with Clockworkmod recovery. I tried to revert to stock rom RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_3.32.405.1_R_Radio_63.18.55.06P_6.35.15.11_release_signed
using the RUU process with the phone conected to the PC. When i try to do the procedure i says to get the right RUU for my phone. I have the GSM hero.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: Could i need a goldcard, cause my phone wasn't branded
Google Shipped ROM, can't remember the exact URL. And then just flash that in recovery.

Thanks JieeHD, actually I used a RUU from shipped roms, and it came up with error 155. BTW the Rom is awesome, and I plan to return to it. Keep up the good work
For any one else who has problems with error 155 when flashing a stock rom this is what i did
Create GoldCard (GoldCard Tool)
Extract rom from RUU
Rename rom.zip -> HEROIMG.zip (careful NOT to rename it to HEROIMG.zip.zip)
Flash through recovery (Reboot the phone while pressing Volume Down + Power On)
Enjoy
Thank you very much JieeHD for the beautiful Salsa port to our Hero, except for some lags it's a great ROM, can't wait for your next release

If it's on DL09 you can flash DJ05 or DL09 roms. Those should work just fine.

Thanks I am not a complete noob, I have worked with the vibrant, epic, captivate, mytouch 4g and hd2, so things are somewhat similar. Are there any solid froyo roms? From what I saw any thread that mentioned froyo are alpha or beta.
Also is this the correct process just to be 100% clear:
root
get rom manager and flash clockwork recovery through rom manager
flash rom
Yes. But you missed two steps.
1. Installing clockwork recovery is more involved on this pda. You need to download a patch for clockwork recovery and flash it using odin. (hitting the flash button in RM copies an update.zip to your sd card, which is important too but not the only step)
Use this guide or equivalent:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788099
2. Also, before you install your first ROM, always perform a backup through Rom Manager or recovery first! You should always know a route back to stock.
Swyped w/ XDA App. When in doubt, mumble.
Thanks. I can not believe that fascinate users only have alpha froyo builds! I got rid of my vibrant because I had enough with froyo.

You can thank Samsung for the delays, since they released almost useless source code for the radio interface layer (RIL) for the Fascinate. It took combined efforts of jt1134 and punk.kaos to reverse engineer a working RIL to get as far as they have. Now that there's been a leak of an official Froyo update, including a new kernel, I imagine we'll be seeing beta releases sometime in the near future. Oh, and don't forget that GB is being worked on as well.

If we do not backup we are asking for trouble and hours lost in a day/night.
Hi guys,
I need ClockworkMod recovery working to use with ROM Manager. To my understanding, to do this, I need to flash with a ROM having fastboot. I tried Open Europe with fastboot but it keeps giving forceclosures. I can't even enter settings and so I can't enable USB debugging to root or to flash another ROM via KDZ updater.
My phone runs stock 2.1 latest version made for TMN mobile. Does anyone have the KDZ with fastboot for above version? Can anyone help me make one?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Nibras.
The Open Europe fastboot works fine. Just do a factory reset.
or use this rom
V10D_00.kdz
http://www.4shared.com/file/-jnfaB1R/V10D_00.html
it works first time everytime i used it
Dr. Alani:
That would require entering the setting menu?

I would like to have the current ROM as well. To backup it, I will need a version of this ROM with fastboot.
Ok, done. Installed OpenEU and did a hard reset and it works fine.
I flashed clockworkmod 2.5.0.5 but i can't seem to be able to install swiftdroid using .zip from the recovery.
You will need to flash the new recovery 3.x.

Did that but it didn't work. Ended up using fastboot in the end.
Thanks you guys for the assistance.

Thanks. However I switched back to stock. CM7 was pretty fast but I don't find a lot of reasons to run CM7. And, my SD doesn't work with CM7 due to the ext2. So, that's a lot of pain for me.

Hmm. I was glad to see Joe's version too. It's exactly what I wanted. However it appears to have trouble with video recording and AF. I will wait till that is fixed.
I wonder if the MCR(MoDaCo Custom ROM) or something similar is available for GT540.
Yeah i'll wait till joe's rom get the fixes. Im good with my actual 2.1 no need for more everything works. I just would like widget locker running but keeps fc'ing

Just a quick note.
Seems there's a fastboot kdz for this particular ROM.

I really like the TMN ROM over the OpenEU version although am neither Portugese or European. The TMN ROM is more newer than OpenEU version and it also is noticeably faster. So, if I can have both TMN ROM with fastbook/clockwork, it's a huge plus for me since I wouldn't really stand back to try out new ROMs.

Hi
Is there a pre-rooted rom for the MyTouch 3G? (the original version - without 3.5mm jack)
I'm looking for a file that i'll just have to copy to memory card, and flash it.
i prefer the latest version - but any of this are welcome.
Thanks
Ohhhhh... did you check the development section?
You need to root your phone and flash a recovery (I prefer Amon_ra Recovery) then you'll be able to flash a ROM. Please read the dev how-to threads or Cyanogen's wiki - it's not too difficult.

Yes, there is a flashable stock file for the orignal myTouch that is version 1.5. You have to flash it from the hboot. Then there are 5 update files that you'll flash from recovery to get you all the way back to stock 2.2.1. I've got all the files in a folder in my Megaupload account, but can't link since Megaupload is blocked here at work. I'll link it when I get home.
Thanks a lot, i'm looking for it.
Here you go. You only need the sappimg and update files. If you need help flashing let me know.

Hi
i have just flashed the sappimg to my MT3
But at the activation screen i don't see the activate over WiFi - like i was expect to see on a rooted rom.
Do i need to flash all five updates to get a rooted rom?
Thanks for any help.
Woah, that's completely different from what I thought you were talking about. I thought you just meant a stock ROM. Pre-root as in "before root". You can't do what your wanting to do. You'll have to activate and then root using one of the several guides out there, such as the "New school" one in my sig.

Thanks for your effort.
I was reading the threads for unrooting the mytouch and from what I read they only work if you rooted with gfree. I rooted via root.sh and I do have a nandroid of my stock rom. Anyone know how I would go about unrooting my phone? I am receiving a warranty replacement and I am very desperate. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

here are a couple links for you:
read this one first and make sure you are on the stock radio
use this method to unroot

Thanks for responding, but the unroot method you posted is the one I talked about in the op. The very first sentence in that thread says "will only work if you rooted via gfree" (not exact words but close). Which I did not root with gfree.

doh! my bad.... well the easiest way would be to flash the stock PD15IMG.zip in the bootloader. download this file here, name it PD15IMG and put it in the root of your SD. turn off the phone then boot into hboot(hold vol down+power button), the bootloader should automatically find the file then ask you to update. hit yes and and it should start flashing. make sure you are on the stock radio before doing this

Thanks. Do I have to be on a stock rom before flashing the PD15IMG file? Or can I be running any rom and just put the file on the root of my sd card and let it install? Will it automatically put the stock rom back on?

Figured it out. Everything is back to stock and surprisingly my phone is running smoother and faster than it has since I have been using custom roms.

@Towle- if youre on virtuous fusion with the updated radio, flash a different rom that doesnt require the radio. then revert to the stock radio, then you can go ahead and flash the stock PD15IMG in hboot. yes it will put the stock rom back on the phone and restore it back to factory conditions
@cabello80- radios can be found here
and no it will not change your hboot

You cannot get s-on at the moment, no single RUU can revert what AlphaRevX has done. So that first link doesn't make any sense.
The second link is better tough:
Code:
To flash the official RUU build, simply download ‘Official Android 2.2 FroYo RUU, connect your phone to your computer via USB, run the downloaded RUU installer and just follow the on-screen instructions. Once the process finishes and your device reboots, you will have it installed.
EDIT:
The most easy way is to flash a "safe" RUU. Those will give you the HTC Froyo stock ROM, but do not have an hboot, a radio and a recovery. Now that isn't a problem for you at all: you will notice nothing of it. When you boot your device, it will look like you have gone back to the phone you've bought. When you have downloaded such a zip, you can just put it on your SD-card an flash it just like you flash a custom ROM.
To get such a zip, go to the thread of 3xeno (scroll down to chapter 5). I do not know which one is the best, I propose you just pick the latest one from Danne_jo. You can download it directly by clicking here. Again, this is the ROM of danne_jo, all credits should go to him.
