Hello. I installed Movie Studio 1.0 from a thread here on XDA. After the update to 3.1 I have both 1.0 and 1.1 on my Iconia. Irritating I think. My problem is that I can't uninstall 1.0. I simply cant find it and in Settings => Apps => manage apps I don't have any alternative to uninstall. Only force close. I have rooted my tablet and I search with AntTek file manager. I am sure that I search in the wrong dir and I can't find the thread with the app. So, if someone is kind enough to help me I would be very greatful.
PS I have done several factory resets since I installed it and I'm now running stock ROM installed from a CWM backup with CWM restore function DS

Once you get your root back, can't you just use Titanium Backup to remove the old app?
Also, you could use something like File Expert or Root Explorer, go to /system/app, find the apk band deleye from there.
Yes, that could be a solution but there is no Movie Studio or editor .apk in that directory. Not 1.1 nor 1.0. I can't find it. I don't know how to delete an app that I cannot find. That's my problem. Where to look?

Does anyone know wheres apps from the market are stored? I have about 20 of them downloaded and installed but I wanted to know if there is a way to extract all of the .apk files so I can load them all in again if I decide to switch ROMs..
If you aren't rooted you can use the app backup feature billy in the Astro file manager. If you are rooted
I'd use titanium backup. I know the system adopted are stored in / system/app.

I'll look into it... TY
I accidently deleted the file folder from my phone com.swype.inputmethod (not sure if that is the exact name, but close) and now I can't swype. Does anyone know how I can get it back? Or if it is still on my phone somewhere...I tries to restore w/ Ti, but it didn't seem to work.

If you search around a little bit the system dump from the D2 is posted somewhere, grab the swype apk and either copy it to the SD card and install it (I generally just use astro to get the application manager to open and let me install) or connect your phone to the computer in PC Mode and use adb to install (adb install swype.apk). You will need to either run adb from the installed folder on your computer or modify your environment path to include the location of adb.
So I found it....but now I have yet another problem...I'm deodexed and the dump file is odexed....will it still work?

I am using root explorer to copy the city id and 3g hotspot apk from my sd card to system /app but every time I try to install I get application not installed. I changed permissions and everything. I do not know what I am doing wrong. I un installed them with titanium and want to restore them. I did a backup but did not see an option to reinstall. So, I just downloaded the apk's and am doing it this way.
Where did you get the apk's? I need the City id

Here is where I downloaded the cityid apk. Hope it helps. I do not even know if it was the right one. They are for the Droid X but I assumed since they are similar it would work but I can not ge it to install to my system /app

APK doesn't install
Yes, there's something strange going on with the TAB.
I get "application not installed" when I try to reinstall the mail app. I've also tried moving the APK into the system/app folder but it won't even with r/w access.
I've also tried installing with adb, but that throws INSTALL_FAILED_DEXOPT.
The same file installs fine on my HTC Desire.
I used Superoneclick to root the TAB, and terminal seems to get su without problem, but I think there's something I'm missing.
Any help gratefully received.
I accidentally removed Youtube. I tried to install it again for google Play store and its crashing after opening. I installed it as apk, and it did the same thing. any help?
If you are on stock rom (i suppose you haven't deodexed it), go to /system/app using root explorer and see if you can find Youtube.odex. That file may be causing some problems. Delete it, and then install a downloaded youtube apk.
If you're on a custom rom, I recommend you to reflash your rom as i can't think of any other solution.
If you are on custom rom or stock rom download youtube from google play store...and if you want make it system app
Globally recognised and certified NOOB
Use root explorer move your downloaded apk to system / app and set permission as r-w-r-r--.
Before that clear data of your previously installed YouTube.

Ever since I upgrade to 6.0 I can't seem to install any of my old apk's. I have the security setting checked for it but nothing seems to work. Is it due to them simply just not being compatible or what?
What happens when you try to install them? What method are you using to install them? What apps?

Just simply through the stock method. With the built in file explorer into the settings. Do I need to get a file explorer app and install it that way. It simply says cannot open file. I gotta say I'm kind of a nub when it comes to stock android. I've always had skins over it.
*Edit* *Solved*
I didn't realize you had to install a file manager to install apk files. Sorry for the nubiness.
