TouchPal Keyboard Highlights:
** TouchPal Curve **
TouchPal Curve is the next generation of swiping technology. It brings prediction to sliding. In Swype, you have to slide the complete word, and you’ll easily get lost with long words. Using the Predictive Sliding technology in TouchPal Curve, you may pause in the middle of a word to get prediction. You can slide only a very small part to finish a long word.

** Blind Type **
With TouchPal’s patented mistyping correction technology, blind type is no longer a dream! You may type 50% faster with TouchPal Keyboard because you don’t need to worry about making mistakes.
** Smart Prediction **
TouchPal Keyboard predicts words in a smart way. The prediction is based on sophisticated language models and machine learning. It also learns your input pattern and optimize the prediction that works best for you ONLY! It may save up to 80% of keystrokes.
** Multilingual support **
We are releasing TouchPal Keyboard in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Russian, German, Chinese, and many more languages.
Note: This version is NOT available on Android Market yet. The current TouchPal keyboard in Android market only supports Chinese and Enligh, and doesn't support sliding input or multi-languages. We will release this new version in the market after beta testing is finished.

Hi All
Did a search of the forums and didn't see anyone post anything about this new SMS program, so thought I'd post it here as a FYI for everyone.
It's another replacement SMS program, but the difference is that this one actually looks very finger friendly.
Currently it's FREE to download because it's in Beta. Use the link to the company's website below to give it a whirl.
Haven't tried it myself yet, but will do so when I get home and sync it onto my X1! And no, I'm not affliated with them.
Features: (Copied and pasted from their website)
* Big (fully customizable) fonts for convenient reading in all circumstances
* Easy and comfortable single-handed text input without any need for the stylus
* Fully customizable automatic standard replies with one single on-screen button
* Snooze function to remind you again at a more convenient time
* standard SMS inbox/sent box still functional

Many thanks for the heads-up. This could be useful as I am struggling with the minute font of my current SMS application.
WB
Just installed and tested it. Like the look of the application; however the digits for input are still too small for finger or one handed use. Could not find a predictive text option which was a real pain.
Also wiped all my data out of my text inbox but left subfolders untouched. Have had to restore from a backup.
In summary a good start but a lot of functions to iron out yet in this beta.
WB
Tested it on my Niki.
Slow as hell, especially with hardware keyboard entry mode.
At this stage barely usable... I went back the default texting after few tries.
will try it and give a feedback later on...
Thanks for this!
I can report on my Universal works great!
Bug I found:Every time I open the app, keyboard is enabled, even if I deselect it. (ON my Uni I really dont need a virtual kb)
Gracias!

Did you turn off the built-in keyboard under the *Edit* tab? On my X1 the onscreen keyboard *doesn't* come back up after I've deselected it.

Really? I've got it installed and it hasn't touched my SMS messages at all. EasySMS doesn't actually even seem to read from the outlook sms database because I can't see any of mine when I use it.

Yeah I agree - conceptually it's great, but needs some work. I'll definitely keep an eye on this and post any updates as they come.
What annoys me most is that there doesn't seem to be a way to access the Contacts address book... I'll wait until they release a version that does. Either that or Inbox Central starts working in WVGA and can write sms
This app is now out of beta and is no longer free for download! Anyone tried it, and would like to share their experience???
What is SwiftKey?
SwiftKey brings the future of text entry to smartphones. It uses TouchType’s breakthrough Fluency™ technology to predict the next word you want to type, before you even press a key.
Fast
With SwiftKey, your next word is predicted with such incredible accuracy that a third of suggestions are right first time and usually you won’t need to press more than two letters.
Accurate
SwiftKey uses advanced error correction, meaning grammar and spelling errors are a thing of the past. Typing with SwiftKey produces text you can rely on, in a fraction of the time it takes on a regular QWERTY keyboard.
Intelligent
SwiftKey doesn’t just predict regular words – it learns as you type and remembers how you write. As words and sentences are chosen over time, its Fluency™ engine creates a dynamic understanding of your writing style to boost the accuracy, fluency and speed of prediction.

But is it really that much better than the HTC keyboard? I'm not a fan of Swype to be honest. I like tapping much more, especially since I don't always use standard words, which can be annoying with Swype then.
Download:
1. Search for it on the android market.
2. Or use this QR Code:
Thanks for posting this.
I have to say Ive just tried this and it seems very good. Might be my favourite so far out of the Stock keyboard, HTC Mod, and Swype. Time will tell though. Only wrote a few texts with it, but it does seem quick.
So far, I quite like it.
I wish it would stop inserting spaces after punctuation and word selection though.
Other languages than English are supported ?
I like it a lot, also because it can learn from your sms history and HTC IME mod is extremely poor in dictionary.
So far it's working ok, but it needs some fine tuning in the interface and it allows just one language for now!

Was blown away by first message... typed a full sentence and only had to press the first letter of a few words and space bar the rest.
Have been using BetterKeyboard for a while now, but SwiftKey immediately outdoes it's prediction and easier to select other words. Hopefully this takes off and skins are developed etc... keys felt a touch smaller than BK.
edit: "I love you." = , [space], [l], [space], [space] - still has the same meaning

Is there a work around to use two language packs? I need the german language pack for most of my things but like in this forum and for twitter and so on I need the english language pack.

Love the keyboard! only thing i've noticed so far is that double tap on the spacebar does not put a '.' in

Not that I know about. I uninstalled it quickly after. I still love the Sense keyboard more.
With Sense you can type something like:
gey, egat ere yuu diing ronught?
It will actually manage to fix it to:
hey, what are you doing tonight?
Well, as long as there is no multi language support for this keyboard I will have to switch back to sense too. But I have to say the the Swift keyboard is the best keyboard I tried until now (besides the original keyboard).
Greetings,
Thomas
it' cool very cool.
But it's very boring that add a space every time.
If I want to add a three point I have to cancel the space.
Tested on my own HTC Desire with OpenDesire v4.0
What is Swype?
Swype provides a faster and easier way to input text on any screen. With one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen keyboard, the patented technology enables users to input words faster and easier than other data input methods—at over 40 words per minute. The application is designed to work across a variety of devices such as phones, tablets, game consoles, kiosks, televisions, virtual screens and more.

Simply Trace a Path
The word “quick” was generated from tracing the path shown above in a fraction of a second, by roughly aiming to pass through the letters of the word. A key advantage to Swype is that there is no need to be very accurate, enabling very rapid text entry.
Key Features
Over 40 words per minute on touchscreen devices
Standard QWERTY layout
Use a stylus or finger
Ideal for Smartphones and Tablet PCs
Multiple languages available
Supports common editing actions
Patented
SDK available now!
Single Tap Predictive Text for mobile devices
Speed and Accuracy
Swype is faster than existing text entry methods because it has built-in intelligence that does not require users to hit each letter accurately. Also, tracing a smooth, continuous path is much faster than “target-tap-lift-target-tap...”. Even novice users can quickly achieve sustained data entry speeds of over 40 words per minute.
Install process
Download via. link
Move to SDCard
Use a filemanager Astro etc. to install
Go into Settings
Choose Language & keyboard
Check Swype
Long press a text field
Choose input method
Choose Swype
Swype is multilanguage and include:
US English
UK English
Deutsch
Français
Español
Italiano

Going to give it a go now. Had it on my Touch Pro2 a while back. Takes a bit of getting used to if i remember rightly and never really used it due to having a hard keyboard on the TP2.
I tried this on my device. Worked fine but it was actually much slower and less accurate to type Finnish than with the regular Scandinavian keyboard. Also the key layout was kinda horrible. Guess it works better with English.
Works brilliantly on my stock HTC Desire, 2.2 FroYo, not Rooted.
This is newer than the public beta. Nice job!

Glad you liked it guys
First. No it will not expire. It's the Swype from the Galaxy S phones.
Second. I think Swype have asked us to remove any Swype apks from XDA..
Swype cannot be distributed. We have already gotten requests to remove Swype on many occasions. Please stop distributing this app like this. Thread closed.
I think its much improved it looks better, feels better to use, voice input and alot more accurate.
download the installer from your phone browser from https://beta.swype.com/android/get/ if you are a beta tester to get the latest version...
We're happy to bring you version 2.15.56.14870 of Swype BETA for Android. We've made some pretty fantastic upgrades with this version, including adding some new requested features and addressing some reported bugs. Read on for details...
First and foremost - We've resolved an accuracy issue that was introduced in the last beta update. Refer to the changelog for more detail on this critical fix.
Second - Swype BETA for Android now supports Double-Tap-to-Edit! Swype choose a wrong word? Just tap the word twice to bring up the word choice window, pick the correct word, and the cursor will return to wherever it was before. It doesn't get any simpler! See a
video demonstration
, and check out our other tips and tricks.
And Third - Swype BETA for Android now includes a Voice-to-Text button (available for QWERTY layouts ONLY)! You MUST have Google Voice Search pre-integrated in your ROM for this feature to work. We wish everyone could access it, and are working to adapt our existing code to support versions of Voice Search downloaded from the market, as well as other voice search providers, in our next update.
Users with access to the beta can begin downloading the update immediately by pointing their device's browser to http://beta.swype.com/android/get
Some additional details...
* You'll see much less of that pesky "Hidden Word" popup (though it will still show up once in a while)
* Names from the address book will no longer muscle out all other words for top spot in the word-choice-window.
* NEW SELF-UPDATING INSTALLER! This update includes a new installer with some long-needed feature updates.
o The new installer will self-update when you launch it, if necessary, so you'll NEVER have to uninstall and re-install the installer via our website. Just keep the installer on your device, and launch it periodically - If needed you'll be given the option to update it with just a click.
o We've converted the installation app from an "application" to a "service" so that the Android activity manager and other 3rd party task killers won't end the install process prematurely. That means no more rebooting, swap file, or voodoo witchcraft required!
o The installer now includes a repair function. If for any reason Swype stops working, simply re-launch the installer and you'll be guided through the steps necessary to get Swype running again.

Seems to have solved the issue I had where I would need to switch input methods on a restart to be able to use it. Very happy to finally have French support.
I think that although it is a pretty painless installation, the method is a bit peculiar, I just wish it was more streamlined.
Fixed those annoying pop ups.also runs much smoother. Was almost considering switching to the gingerbread keyboard.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
The new version is better, but still likes to pick words from your contacts. I really dislike the pop up which at times drove me to use HTC's keyboard. So far now i can definitely say the accuracy is back compared to the pain it was before.

Recent changes:
Version 1.0.17 GA
(both versions)
- Adjusted key alignment on symbols keyboard.
- Added launcher app that gives install instruction.
What's Next (if possible) from Mrcartagena
- Allowing users to help improve auto-complete dictionary if they choose.
- See if I can integrate live translation of input fields.
- Voice input option from the keyboard
- I'm considering disabling word completion in the free version entirely.
It seems to cause the users quite a lot of confusion.

Will there be a german (QWERTZ) version? If so, I would buy the paid version.

I don't really like the style and it's not because it's iphonish. It's because there is something missing, something the iphone guys having the edge on: the details. It looks like someone shi**ed this theme, especially the notepad thing... (Sorry for the unnessecary lanuage). It's like many other apps for Android, they are always made without love. There are not more than 50 apps in Android Market which are made with nice graphics and much time/love.
This one is clearly not one of that 50 apps...
