Ok i know this has absolutely nothing to do with phones or android or anything but I figured with all you super smart people I could get some help here. I have a Dell netbook and all of a sudden it wont connect to the internet. Itll connect to my router but says limited access internet. its pissing me off. my wifes computer will connect fine but mine wont. ive already tried power cycling my modem and router with no luck. Ive also restored my computer to a past date (thinking it was a software/virus thing) with still no luck. ive googled it and cant find any fixes. Does anyone have any ideas? any help would be amazing!

My touch has just turned off wifi, i go to the connections manager and it is blacked out so i cant even turn it back on....any thoughts?!!? Help please!!
Are you connected to your PC via USB? That might be the reason....

I can't turn on the Wifi...
I recharged the HD while it was on and tried to use the wifi. Probably shouldn't of but it seemed a good idea at the time The wifi won't turn on.
I just get the spinning windows wheel and then nothing.
I tired a soft reset and a hard reset nothing.
Any ideas?

Seems like it is a problem with other HTC's too...
I wonder if this is an issue related to ActiveSync. Anyhow, when connected to a PC, WiFi won't work, otherwise no problems ...
Hi all I got the US HD2 when it first came out and since then I have been very happy with it. But just now for some reason it won't connect to my home wifi anymore. It worked this morning but then like an hour ago it just won't work. I did a hard reset and the problem still exists. Any chance that this is caused by maybe a overheat or anything like that? Or maybe it's time for me to go back to the store and get another one?
Also I tried so hard to get Skype for Windows Mobile working on it but no luck. I searched online and saw people saying it is working but for some reason it just won't connect at all. I managed to get to the login screen, type in the info and then click sign in. Then it just stayed at the Skype logging in screen with the rotating blue circle. After a minute or 2 an error pops up saying there is error connecting please check data connection. I tried to do this with wifi, 3g, and ActiveSync and they all got the same result. So anyone got any idea about why? I really need to have Skype working on my phone as I need to have a foreign number.

the other day I was trying to connect to wifi after trying to use the 'share internet' tethering option...and it just kept loading over and over (the wifi sign) and it would not connect....
I flashed it back to stock and then flashed it to the latest energy rom now it seems fine..but I have not tried the tethering option yet, maybe that has something to do with it... not sure..
I figured out the WiFi problem. It turns out that I turned turned the encryption of my router from tkip to aes by accident and the HD2 doesn't work on aes. But I am still having trouble connecting to Skype... Anyone got amy luck? Or perhaps can somebody who managed to get Skype working help me out a bit?

My HD2 shows that it is connected but there is no data flow. I have a Linksys WRT610n router which is PW secure. I also have a HTC S743 that connects with no issues. I'm having a WTF red alert here... any help would draw 2 quarts of blood from me for payment, which you could sell for crack money. Anyone?

Yeah I got it.. I slipped the sim card out and then reinsert it, I noticed it went in just a tad deeper, it did the trick. WiFi is now working. The world can continue to spin. Carry on...

Without wifi the device is useless to me.
I can see the networks, just not connect to anything.
I have the latest radio.
It worked on first setup but after restart ive lost the ability to connect.
Somoene mentioned that the MAC address is assigned randomly each time the device restarts which seems very odd.
Does anyone know of a fix for this before I give up and go back to 6.5?

Same thing hapened to me...after unlocking, modifying registry and activating the phone, wi-fi stopped working. It sees the network...very good signal, but it says that it can't reach it...I tried a few restarts, but nothing. Hope somebody will fix this....thanks in advance
Will I be able to use the same activation key again if I reset the phone from settings/about ? I mean....I could try this to see if the the unlocking or the registry modification caused this...
This happened to me, too. It started working after I pulled the battery and went through the new phone setup thing.

turn off the device, take off your micro sd and turn on the device. you'll see that all your settings and customizations are gone. turn off the device again, put back your sd card and turn on the device. NOW you should be able to connect to wifi access points!

first my wifi became unreliable, it disconnected, didn´t reconnect sometimes etc...
now, it´s not working anymore at all.
when i go to wi-fi settings it says turning on, then the red arrow appears, then immediately it says turning off. down there comes a message "unable to scan for networks"
i searched the whole forum, but didn´t find a simlar problem.
i reseted it to factory, didn´t help.
it can´t be a router problem, ´cause all the other devices on the wifi work, even my friends myt4G.
any tricks or ideas anyone?
i got this form a friend in the states, bought last december, he ment, in the US they have mostly only 90 days warranty, in germany we got 2 years.. is this true..?

Try chaning the channel on your Wifi Router. Most of the new routers you can go to routerlogin.net from a computer that is connected to the router and change the settings. I had the same problem and it appeared all of my neighbors were using the same channels i was. I move to a different one and haven't had a problem since. It will not affect the SSID or the password So all of your login it stuff will stay the same. Any WAN connected device just might lose signal for a second or two while the router changes channels.
thx. channel was on auto. changed it to 11 out of 13. didn´t help. also, i have only 3 wifis in my neighbourhood, i can get with my pc. on the htc, it shows only mine + the direct neighbour..
it seems that wasn´t he prob here...
could it be a hardwareprob? anyone any knowhow on american warranty?
the wi-fi button is almost not responding anymore.. when i turn it off, it turns itself on again, when i go into wifi settings, ist keeps truning on and off again in an endless loop....
edit: tethering does also not work anymore. when i click on portable wif hotspot, it says error...

seems to be a gingerbreadissue... perhaps i´ll try downgrading first.
so i downgraded to 2.2.1 and it worked. got to bed, woke up, not working anymore "unable to scan for networks" again
Hi everyone,
Since Friday my phone just stopped connecting to Wi-Fi networks. When it tries to connect it says "Network access denied". Mobile data and everything else work fine. I can technically connect if I literally put the phone on top of my router but even then it is unusable. Take two steps away from it and the connection drops. I spent the whole weekend and yesterday looking for a solution. I tried almost everything including resetting the phone, updating the phone from the current version to the B524 beta and back (rollback wiped my phone but I don't mind), the airplane mode trick and countless router rebootings. I really hope it's not a hardware issue, I've only had the phone for a couple of months... To make matters worse I ran out of data allowance and have to wait until next month for it to come back.
So yeah, kind of an annoying situation. Anyone know what is happening?

I did, yes. I've tried to connect to mine, my brother's and some unsecured one that was near me.
if you are rooted then i suggest full wipe in twrp , download new rom and see if it works again , if not it must be the phone who has hardware problem.... and repair shop is needed
I have the same problem, my P8 Lite Wi-Fi just stopped working, tried several different Routers that used to work but just get Network Access Denied. Think this must be a software problem.

Im having same problem...visually everything works (not greyd out), but when scanning, scans for a second and then thats it. Tried wifi direct, doesnt work.
Also bluetooth doesnt work (same as wifi...cant find nothing).
Tried all those "tricks" what i could find on google, tried all rom builds, rooted-unrooted...nothing works so far.
