Xoom bookmark sync

I managed to delete my chrome sync data and finally get it back in the dashboard and now no matter what I do they wont show back up in the xoom.
I cannot for the life of me get them back! Any ideas?

I wish I knew what to tell you. If it were me, I would probably do a factory reset and start over.

Yea, i'm thinking thats what i'll have to do. I hate the idea of having to redo everything, oh well. Better now than never, I'll report back.

No luck. I'm thinking the problem is on googles server side. Very very very annoying.

I'm having problems with syncing my bookmarks to my Xoom as well. I set up my bookmarks on Chrome desktop and I checked Google Dashboard to see that the number of bookmarks were synced. When I went to the Xoom browser and added my Google account to sync, it only shows up with a folder called "other bookmarks." My bookmarks are stored in separate file folders inside the "other bookmarks" folder on Chrome desktop. Does the Xoom browser have a hard time reading folder structures and therefore doesn't pull in my bookmarks?

This feature absolutely refuses to work for me. I'm so sick of these glitches and problems. I have the google io version. Latest update.

I'd much rather the freaking feature work though.
It worked earlier on the Xoom and before I sent my tab to get repaired (I guess they updated it, it was gone for 3 weeks.)

Doesn't work on my tab10.1 either, very annoying that there hasn't been any OTA update since release even to fix the browser issues which are as follows:
1. Browser bookmark sync doesn't work
2. Heavy websites causing screen redraw, impossible to scroll from top to bottom without redraw
3. All websites refuse to load and the last website which did load is displayed but in garbled form.
4. Flash causing slowdown and stuttering - try loading www.techradar.com and enable flash and then scroll up and down - it's terrible.
5. Holding down on a weblink doesn't bring up the sharing function to share to another app.

All the same stuff is happening here. Not very happy with it.

Mine never worked until I:
Stop syncing in chrome.
Remove google sync on tablet.
Reboot table.
Start sync in chrome.
Add sync on table.
Has worked ever since. YMMV

Didn't work unfortunately. I guess i could flash a custom rom and see if it works.

This STILL doesn't work for me after a wipe and an upgrade to the latest 3.2 rom.

the sync will work but it might take as long as 2 days.

I've waited weeks before. It doesn't work. It worked fine on my transformer

touch wiz browser sucks
TouchWiz Browser sucks...regular HoneyComb browser worked flawlessly before I updated to TW. THe HC browser synced w chrome no problem. Need to get rid of my SGT10.1 and buy Prime or Acer 510.

I have had to wipe my chrome sync in the Google Dashboard twice since I got my tab in early December to fix the sync problem. Whether it's the tab's fault or your stored data's fault I don't know. After you get it set up again it can take 1 or 2 days for everything to trickle through though, so be patient.

I turned on "Encrypt all data" when using Chrome Sync, and since then my Galaxy Tab browser has failed to sync bookmarks.
I don't know if this is the issue, but it would make sense. Can you check your sync settings in Chrome?

Originally it was just passwords but I wanted everything encrypted. I was offering a suggestion of what might be causing the Tab to fail when syncing bookmarks, since it started failing for me after encrypting everything.
I think the only way to go back to encrypting only the passwords is to stop Chrome syncing, delete all synced data from the dashboard, and turn syncing back on. I could be wrong!

Okay, so this is what I did to get my Bookmarks working:
Go to Settings in your Chrome Browser.
Personal Stuff>Advanced
Uncheck Bookmarks
Change to "Encrypt passwords"
Click OK.
In the Personal Stuff Window, click Google Dashboard and login
Scroll down to Chrome Sync and click "Stop sync and delete data from Google"
Depending on how much you've got, it can take a while. Mine took about 7-10 minutes. Have a smoke or something.
When it's finished, go back to Chrome Settings>Personal Stuff>Advanced
Recheck Bookmarks, and double-check Encrypt Passwords is selected.
Done.
I did this the other day and I didn't lose any data. See below:

If your using the Android browser and it's still not working, look into "Chrome Marks". It's free and will one-way sync your bookmarks to your device. If you pay for it, it goes 2-way.
Can also try the Chrome Beta app. I've mess with it for a while, but they still have a lot to do just for stability...and it's been taking time away from checking out ICS.
Hope any or all of this helps out.
Edit: Forgot to mention you'll need to setup a new application-specific password to get Chrome Sync going again. I don't remember where though. gl

Oh god this is annoying, my tab is almost perfect but those fukin bookmarks...
Can't get them to work no matter what, how come they have made it so difficult...
Plus, if I could just export from Chrome and then import to my tab, that would be enough.. but noooo.........

I'm on this rom and have problems with bookmarks in browser, they do not sync with google and new bookmarks in invisible.. Anobody got a clue?
Did try overcome rom, the bookmarks synced right away with that one.

I was able to get it to work make sure both are logged in to your Google account, which I'm sure you did.
You are using the browser that came with the rom correct?

Try disabling the ad blocker using the zip from tasks thread.

Yes, the browser is the same. Have tried both suggestions, no luck so far.. When I untick an retick the synk the circular icon turns a couple of seconds then stops.. No probems with the other syncs, just browser. Annoying without my bookmarks :-(

Problem solved!
The bookmarks where suddenly synced after a couple of hours.
I believe the adblock remove did the trick..

The galaxy task rom uses the browser form the ZOOM tablet as it looks a lot better, if you want original browser you can find the system apk (these dont install like normal but go in a system folder and load at boot up) and you cna try the stock browser. You can sync your memo's as well if you go into the memo app, veyr handy for saving data.

Is Chrome mangling your bookmarks?

While it's great having the Chrome browser sync all of my bookmarks, it's not a lot of fun going back to my desktop browser to find that they've been duplicated and rearranged. At the moment I can't tell if any have been deleted. I've just deleted some duplicates from the desktop Chrome and am hoping that they won't disappear completely from the Nexus.
Has anyone else noticed this kind of behaviour?

No, I use Firefox beta with adblock. Synced, job's a goodun.
Chrome seems a little laggy.

I've had no issue using chrome between my phone, my nexus 7, and my laptop.

Note that there are now Desktop Bookmarks and Mobile Bookmarks.
Maybe just move your mobile links over manually then assess the damage.

My mobile bookmarks are fine. It's only the desktop ones that are duplicated and rearranged. And it's happening in every folder. I'm going to go through all of them deleting the duplicates and then see what happens. Going to take a while, though...

Stock browser sync bookmarks with desktop Chrome?

I know android chrome syncs with desktop chrome bookmarks, but what if i prefer stock browser?
i tried the bookmark sync apk that worked for galaxy s3 but it didnt do anything for s4
there is no "sync browser" option in google account, only "sync chrome"
anyone?

That's weird that this phone doesnt sync with google bookmarks, but Note2 syncs.. It's also REALLY ANNOYING!...

This is crazy you buy a phone from almost €700 and you can not synchronized your internet bookmarks.
I try again with my note2 and no problem. So it must be something with the phone i think.
I think it's only work with the chrome browser. But i dont want to used the chrome browser.

Agreed..I tried bookmarks sb although it said restored it hasn't. I guess the location of bookmarks has confused it.

It's sad. The S4 i9500 came with the standard browser and Google Chrome. Chrome syncs bookmarks fine, but no options to sync with standard browser.. And it's a shame because Samsung air gestures only work on the standard browser (and the scrolling surprisingly is pretty useful)
Can anyone help with this? Sync Google bookmarks, or will chrome be updated for gestures?

+1 this is driving me mad!

I swear I found an option to sync bookmarks (somewhere in menu) with google account when I bought the phone 4 weeks ago, though unsuccessful, but probably after an OTA update i couldn't find that option anymore! Maybe google did it in purpose to prevent further syncing with the stock browser, all in order to use chrome browser only. What you think about it? I had S2 before the S4 and there was no problem syncing at all.

S4 stock browser does not sign in and syncronise bookmark
I have both the s2 and the s4.
with the s2 I get all the bookmarks in the stock browser.
I have more gmail accounts and I get all the different accounts.
With s4 nothing. ...
Shouldn't they improve with new versions of the phones?!!!!

Same to me on my s2 i was able to restore them on my browser now not anymore

any resolution on this yet?
