Hi,
Since I've upgraded to Gingerbread my calendar seems to be synching only one way:
- When I create an event online on google's calendar using my laptop they do show up on the cellphone.
- When I create an event on the cellphone it doesn't show up on google's calendar on my laptop.
Any thoughts?
Have you checked the settings in Calendar->Settings->Manage Calendars?

+1. Also make sure sync for the entire phone is enabled. It was disabled once when I rebooted my phone, no idea why. I just added an event from my phone and it showed up on the computer instantly. Are you adding events to your calendar or a shared calendar?
It's strange. When I go to Calendar->Settings->Manage Calendars I get
- Phone Calendar
not synced, visible . There is an eye icon that is on but the sync icon is off. It allows me to set the visibility to on or off but not the sync.
- Gmail calendar
synced, visible . There is an eye icon that is on and the sync icon is on too. It allows me to select the if the sync and visibility should be on or off.
I had this syncing problem as was described in this thread. The solution turned out to be to click that button and make the "Phone Calendar" NOT visible and NOT synced. Then the only calendar left was my real google calendar and now all the events I create on my phone are instantly synced correctly up and down to my google calendar web page on my desktop pc.
Hope this helps you out.

was there any other possible solution or method anyone can think of in this situation, ive moved from stock GB to Miui Alpha 3 to a more stock ICS themed ROM to Miui Alpha 4 and somewhere in that last jump i lost calendar sync. Noone else seems to have this issue on the Miui thread and there is no option to select a 'phone' calendar or a 'google' calendar in Miui, its just the 'google' one. Thanks in advance

Hi all,
playing with the Hero. I am syncing my google calendar with my Hero and anything I add to the google calendar gets sync'd down to the Hero, but if I delete something on there Hero it doesn't seem to delete it on google calendar or if I add a new date on the hero, it doesn't seem to put it in google calendar.
Any tips?
Thanks all.
worked one bit out. I need to make sure when I add the appt, it is added to the correct calendar, not the local Hero one. Now to sort the deletion bit
I can now add dates on the hero and they appear on google calendar.
Sorted it out, I think
you make the forum redundant
any ideas on how to sync ical with google calendar?
tried calaboration but didn't work
http://code.google.com/p/calaboration/
edit: sorted, it works well

How did you solve the problem?? I have the same problem, if I create a calender event in the Hero it get synced correctly to the google web calender, but if I delete it in the Hero it will not get deleted in the google web calender.
Note that if I instead delete it in the web calender if works so the problem is only when you delete an event in the Hero.
Thanks for pointing this out... I never noticed that you need to select the correct calendar or nothing gets synced to Google and thus back down to my Mac.
Anyone know how to make a particular calendar the default or if you can delete 'My Calendar' and the 'Outlook Calendar' ? Neither of which I would use.
cheers

The mobile remembers the last calender you selected so once you added an event to the google calender it will be the default calender.
Ah, thanks.
Just recived a mail from HTC Supoort that they can confirm that this is a bug in the HTC Hero calender, so I guess the solution is either to try to remove the Hero calender an installa the standard one or to wait for an update from HTC :-(
hmmm... doesn't seem to sync deleted events at all to Google. Better ensure that any deleted events are done online or on the Mac/PC Google synced calendar.
Did they say when it will be fixed ?
you can also hide the outlook and my calendar
in calendar, press menu and then calendars
here you can untick the my calendar and outlook.
and JesperDS is correct, it should remember the last one you selected when you created an item and automaticlly default to that one the next time you create one.
It does indeed remember the last calendar used
Hi,
I have just noticed that despite having events in my Google calendar which go back many months/years (e.g Annual Leave or Shifts worked), my Hero doesnt seem to sync anything prior to Mid July 2009 in its calendar.
All that appears prior to mid July is peoples birthdays.
Anyone got any ideas how I can set it to synce EVERY event/item in my Google calendar going back several years??
Cheers
Zippyioa
Google calendar sync stopped
It started with Wi-Fi and now the same error message comes with gprs too.
The message is: "Calendar Storage has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".
This comes after 15 sec use.
Hy,
i have a Galaxy S since last Thursday and now i noticed that when i put a new entry into the calender from the Google Calender Website, after a while the entry disappears on the Phone and on the Website from Google. But not directly after the sync. Because i can see it on the Device after the input on the Site. Just a few hours later it´s gone
Tried it 4 times today and always after some hours the new entrys where gone.
When i put anything in "My Calender" on the Phone it doesn´t disappear.
Any one else with this strange behavior?
No i try to deactivate "My Calender" and use just the Google Calender to see what will happen.
Edit:
Well now it noticed that the Location in my Phone was not set correctly and the new entrys in the Google Calender of the Website differed + 1 hour from the entry in the phone. I´ve set it now to the right location and will see if this maybe was the problem. But shouldn´t it no matter?
I have some recurring events in google calendar (when im supposed to be at work)
On vacations and such i delete some of these events. On the website it works as its supposed to. on my SGS it seems to ignore those i deleted. They keep appearing on every sync on my phone. The website is not affected, only calendar on the phone.
I want my Nexus One back. Everything just worked on that one, no stupid bugs.
After i corrected the location setting in the Phone yesterday and deactivated the "my calender" it seems to work as well. Didn´t delet my entries anymore.
Now i´ve activated "my calender" again to see if this caused the problem or the wrong location setting.

Maybe your entries are in "my calender". The Galaxy S has 2 calenders. One only for the phone, that can be synced with outlook for example. The other ons is the Google Calender that syncs with the Google Server.
The Problem now is that every entry you type in the calender on the phone gets by default into "my calender" IF you do not change the setting of the entry to you Google Calender and will not show up in the Website. Hope it gets an update to set the default calender.
Maybe it helped you.

Installing the stock android calendar solves the issue. Appointments made in the stock calendar are saved by default in the google calendar.
I unchecked 'my calendar' on my galaxy now.
I hope this works.
Thanks for helping

Now that i´ve activated "my calender" the entry from 30 minutes back is gone again, but the ones from yesterday are still there. So i have to deactivate this one.
I have seen that i have a programm (Google Calender Sync) on my pc that syncs the calender from google with my outlook. Could this cause the problem? i try everything now to get a solution for this.

I had problem with google calendar updating. In the calendar I would hit refresh with no effect. If you go to the main menu, settings, sync, and hit the gmail sync, I think it syncs correctly then. Since I manually sync all my apps for battery reasons I just put the "sync all" widget on my homescreen and press it when I want everything to update. Hope that makes some kind of sense and helps.

I've tried to do a manual sync as well. The 'Us Holidays' calendar shows up on my phone. But not the Birthdays. I put the birthdays in my Gmail contacts.. They sync to the calendar online without a problem. For some reason they just don't go to my phone
I had this problem with a friend's shared calendar and was able to fix it.
Verify under Google Calendar you are actively viewing that calendar
Under Accounts and disable the calendar sync for your google account
Under Applications, clear data for "Calendar Storage" note this is different from "Calendar"
Re-enable the calendar sync to resync
That should work. If not, try reversing the order. I did it myself, and a friend of mine fixed his phone after i gave him similar directions.

Worked perfect. Can't believe I didn't think of that before. Thanks.
Actually. It worked for some people but not all. So weird.
Yesterday my gf said she wasn't getting all of her Google calendars synced on her phone. She has her gmail calendar and a couple from work that are shared. So I cleared the calendar memory, now none of the gmail calendars will sync, but the exchange calendars does. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
I've run into this problem as well. Here's what I've come up with:
First, have her log into her main Gmail account and go to the calendar. She'll have to select (on the left, you know like 'checking' them almost) whichever calendars she wants to sync with.
Once she does that, you'll need to clear out all settings on your phone. As in, wipe data from the calendars. Once that's done, go into the Calendar settings and re-sync. You'll then see the calendars re-appear when you choose which ones you want to show up on your phone's calendar.
Hope that made sense, this has worked for me.
You rock! Thanks my friend! Gave you a litle "Thank you".

No problem. I had literally just done that process no more than 20 minutes before you had posed that question. Glad it worked for ya.
I have no trouble getting it to sync with calendars I manually add in iCal format. The problem I have are the optional ones that Google provides. Specifically the NFL football schedule ones. My phone doesn't seem to want to pick that calendar up at all.
When they're listed on the main calendar page, are they colored like your accounts you can sync to?

Yep. I tried searching for the problem and apparently it has nothing to do with the phone in particular, but the format Google puts their sports calendars in. Lame move by Google. Also saw that an alternative option is to use Yahoo's sports team calendar. Just tried it out and works like a charm.
I have the same issue with all sports calendars...apparently its not just the epic or android..but a problem on the iphone too

PC Sync
I just flashed the Revolution HD 3.6.1 from 3.6.0 and now my stock calendar widget and calendar app only allow me to sync the "pc sync" calendar option. Neither of my Gmail calendars even show up in the list of calendars to display. I've done everything from clearing the data in the settings menu, I've checked my calendars online. Any idea what I can do to sync these?
The standard calendar app doesnt show all calendars. If I add new calendars though there are shown in the standard Calendar app.
Weird enough some third party apps do allow to select all other gmail app calendars, but they are marked as inactive?
How do i get teh calendar to sync all Gmail Apps Calendars?
Weird, when I go into the calendar settings and click calendars, all of them show up.

With google calender the first time the sync occurs, it happnes with the calenders that are enabled google calendar on the web.
Here is what u can do .
1. Go to google.com/calendar and make all the calendars visible
2. In phone - settings /manage applications delete the data from calendar and calender storage.
3. then settings / accounts and sync - re sync calendar.
Now all the calenders will come in calendar app in phone.
Select the ones that u want.
Thanky you
I tried your method of deleting the data and then re-syncing the accounts. But, now even the main calendar from my google account has disappeared and refuses to show up. Is there something missing here??? Cal widget for example shows all the calendars in its configurations but does not show any of the events from the same.
there is something wrong with the default calendar. I am running stock rom xxki3.
Hi, I had similar issue, i think this is one of known issue on android, I tried "clear data" method, sometimes it may work, sometime it doesnt. I google for solution and I found this temporary workaround would solve the issue, atleast for me..
you may want to try this:-
1. Go to android setting, application (all), clear data on calendar storage (WARNING-this step will wipe all calendar entries which were saved internally on your phone)
2. Go to market, download & install this app called: Business calendar (FREE)
(This app have direct connection to google calendar, which will also download and keep all of your calendars entries (including sub calendars)
3. Open business calendar, login with your gmail account, and it will start sync
(manual: more > sync now) it may take few mins, be patient.
this way, your stock or default calendar will get synced as well automatically...try this out
Thanks for the tip. After selecting the sub-calendars on the app, the default calendar also started recognizing the same. Weird.....
This tips is working.
First time, this doesn't work, I had to erase my google account (by the way to refresh my apps ^^).
But the second time, it worked.

I think this is a bug in Samsung Calendar app. The first time the phone synchronize with google calendar, the phone will download all calendars available for the google account. Each calendar has two flags, sync and visible. The first time, all calendars will be flag unsync and hidden (not visible) except our main calendar. After that we can use the calendar app to choose which calendar will be sync and visible. The problem with Samsung Calendar app, if the calendar is flagged as hidden, then the Calendar apps won't recognize the calendar at all, so we can't change the flag to visible. This does not happen with my other phone. So this is not Android bug. I think this bug exist since Samsung Galaxy S. Someone in Galaxy S use sql editor to edit the calendar database. Meanwhile I use Calengoo. Bussiness Calendar can be used as well
