My issue is no autofocus on video.
All this does is rename a file to add the underscore. What is this actually supposed to fix? For the heck of it I renamed the file on my own and recorded two videos before and after. I didn't notice any difference either in the recording experience or the recorded video result.

its a convenience script.. That file can not remain there with its current name.
Rename the file back to VideoRecord.ogg and keep recording video. Make sure you hear sound all the way through the video. i bet you it breaks...
its a known bug
Gotcha. I only recorded about 5 seconds worth of video which is why I didn't see the bug I suppose.
Can anyone confirm that this works? And will it work with recording all sound? Because I've noticed this issue in voice recording too...

its only for the camcorder so that you have sound in your videos.
You could also just delete the VideoRecord.ogg file and do the same thing. All it is, is the beep you get when you start recording.

Hi,
I've installed in Qtek 2020 with Buzz WM5.
Sincerilly I don't note any difference.
Maybe you can tell me where to find the diferences or how to change settings in order to take full advantage of this patch.
Thanks
this is only for video recording...
WORKS great, videos are alot better, looks to be 15fps steady now as opposed to ~5fps.

Is there anyway to take a MKV or HQ 720p files with 5.1 surround sound or 3F2R/LFE to stereo other than Handbreak Handbreak is great and love it just takes a while and some times i feel as if the video quality goes down.
Thanks!
I use ripbot264 and make a copy of all my Bluray Rips to 720p w/5.1 audio for use on my phone. It gives you LOTS of options for improving video quality etc.

Video quality is going to go down no matter what you use b/c of the huge drop in bitrate as well as drop in resolution. As far as taking too long, I think that depends on your system.

Why not make them 800x480 (or somewhere around those numbers to maintain aspect ratio) since phone can't do 1280x720 and you're pretty much just wasting storage space doing 720p?

but it wont play 5.1, haven't tried it with 5.1 headphones yet however it wont play out the external speaker or in headphones unless its stereo. Or am i missing an option on my Vibrant somewhere?
I would like to know why you can't pause a movie and return to the same spot. It starts from the beginning every time. Is there a trick or just the way it is?
@krichek it wont play 5.1 out of the external speakers correct?

Are you asking if the file will play at all? Or if it sounds like it's in 5.1 through the external speaker?
It will play files with 5.1 but I don't think they sound any different if you are using the external speaker. I think they sound slightly better than stereo using the headphones tho.
As to why I encode in 720p with 5.1, I plan on purchasing the USB-HDMI cable when it is released and want to be able to play them on a monitor/HDTV without having to have 2 different versions on the phone.

Ok first follow this tutorial to get your audio out of the video file.
Next use Headac3he to downconvert the file from 5.1 to 2.0. When the program is loaded you will see an option button on the main window. Click it and then it will pop up a second window. At the bottom you will see the down conversion settings. Set it to 2.0 and let it convert.
Then mp3 the wave file and use virtualdub to plop the audio file back into the video file. I'm sure you can find tutorials for all that. If you need to learn how to use any of the programs above tutorials can be easily found on your favorite search engine. Once you learn what your doing here this will take less 7min per file to accomplish.
Dang..... azid.dll cant download it from the official site looks like the site no longer exists. this is for Headac3he
Edit: Attempting foobar2000 as recommended by an IRC friend.

??? I was able to download it from here . It's right under the download link for headac3he
Also I don't see how foobar200 could do any conversion since it's a media player.
Hello! I installed the new firmware and I noticed that the video recording in HD is obscene.
First, the registration window is smaller than that which appears with a normal recording, and secondly, the recording is very jerky and, finally, the video does not play fluid.
It 's normal? It 's a problem of the new firmware? It also happens to others?
Thanks!
Working with the same FW as you, tested 720p High quality and works great.
Any issues?
No problem? Do not have a registration screen smaller? Yet it is smaller than the one you have with normal recording.
Not known of the shots when you move the phone?
Just tried it (n new firmware also) recording does seem a little stuttery - and the screen is smaller than when recording VGA - however - I never checked it on 720p before update so I don't know if it is different?!

The registration window is also smaller in the previous firmware... It's because of the video resolution... And I don't notice any slowing in the video... Cheers
I tested 720p High quality and works great too
Sorry to resurrect this thread but i've just had the same thing happen to me. The funny thing is - I updated and the video was working fine until today. I took some HD videos the other week and they were perfect.... now... same as was described here.
Did anyone find a fix for this?
Also - I'm on JJ6 firmware
Hey guys,
Got my V20 a few weeks ago and enjoying every day so far. I had a short question.. Let's say I'm at a presentation or class I want to record using the HD Audio Recorder app, and at the same time, I would like to take some pictures.
Any idea what to do? The HD audio recording stops recording once I take a picture..
No buddy has a solution?
Maybe try split screen?

HD Audio Recorder gives a msg claiming that Multi Window is not supported
Maybe a separate camera app.
Camera app requires access to camera and microphone which prevent another audio recording app to use the mic. My suggestion is, if you really needs it, try recording video and taking pictures at the same time. later you can split the audio from the video.
I tried to find out solution for that , but nothing worked for me not without root .
U cant use camera and record audio at the same time
U cant play music on the background and record audio at the same time too
When I record videos with any camera and try to play them back, there is no sound. Anyone else have this happen? I tried multiple camera apps, playback methods, and made sure the volume was up and not on silent.
Thanks

I am
Mine seems to be working fine on video capture resolutions (1080p 30fps and 4k). I replayed the videos back in gallery and MX Player with the ARM7 CODEC.

I'm recording at 1080p 30fps and playing back in gallery to test. No luck. I can record videos in other apps like Facebook Messenger, send them/play them back and they are ok. But any regular camera has this problem -_-

Did you try clearing the app cache and data? If you're hearing the audio in other apps, then it's obviously the app that's the culprit.
Also, I'm not having any issue with the stock camera playback.

I didn't before but I just did. It's still broken. It's across multiple camera apps though, not just the stock one. I'm going to backup and flash FreedomOs and see if it's fixed on that ROM.

Have you looked into this on stock OOS? Could be something broken on custom ROMs.

After flashing FreedomOS, video recording sound is back. Had to be something with the xXx ROM which sucks because I was having a great experience on there.
This happened again on FreedomOS. I believe after reverting the Stereo sound mod for the phone speaker that it's fixed. If anyone has this issue, try to remove that mod and see if it helps. I thought it might have been Viper but it doesn't seem like it.
If you are rooted and have Magisk installed, flash the "Android Mic Fix" module, it worked for me
