I think all that's out there for you is rooted stock - 3G tabs haven't been out long enough.

in that case the unique thing to do is..... wait, right?

Want to try a new rom

My p7500 is rooted and as the latest overcome rom installed on it but I want to try one of the ICS rom's. So which is the best one from this model,as the camera been sorted yet and is there anyway of making sim phone call's yet
Cyanogenmod 9
AOKP is pretty gnarls. Google and/or Youtube 'making phone calls with Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1' and that'll point you in the right direction.

Done that but you mainly get pointed to the 7" tab or things like skype or viber
No ICS roms to date have camera functionality for our tabs. If you can live without the camera, cm9 and aokp are both very nice roms to work with. I switch between those and task14 quite frequently.

Isn't aokp for the p7510 version as I heard it as problems with the 3g on the p7500 tabs
I'm using AOKP on my P7500R right now and it works like a charm . I've been using it on 3G quite a bit also, with no issues I might add.
Can you link m to the right one just to make sure am looking at the right one
I like AOKP the best, but it is totally a preference thing. Try it and CM9, they don't cost anything. I find it helps me to discover what is out there and it helps me get more out of my tab.

First Rom is available for the 10.1 (GT-5113)

You can check it out in the development board for the 10.1 here:

[Q] modelnumber changed. Problem?
Works also fine on a P5110.
Only the modelnumber info changed on my Tab from P5110 to P5113. Could that cause any kind of problems?
Since i'm a newbie on tablets, i don't know if there are any model related apps or so that could cause troubles.
Grtz,
John
This condition is common on android phones especially the first Galaxy series ,some of the early roms available for phones like the Epic 4g and Epic touch where derived from European leaked roms early in the development stages, I guess that it was because Samsung had not released official firmware, this would cause a model number change at boot up but I never noticed any kind of ill affect or problems with apps running properly.

As long as it is working I can't see it causing you any problems. I have actually received a few messages from people who have the P5110 and have not seen any issues.
no probs!

i'v bought my tab2 10.1 in the Netherlands, its a GT-P5110.
i Flashed the rom on the tab, so it registers as a GT-P5113.
everything runs great, one 1 thing that i encounter,
i have 2 WiFi router in my house, one in the loft. the 1st one was set on channel 5, and the 2end on channel 13.
after i booted my tab a scanned for WiFi access point i only saw the one transmitting on channel 5, after setting the 2end router to channel 7 i worked like a charm.
-- edit --
I discoverd that you get 48Gb extra free space on Dropbox if you login on Dropbox with this ROM

i am glad this rom exists! i hate all those extra apks samsung installs that come preloaded and cannot be removed. freezing apps annoys me too, i should just be able to uninstall anything i don't want. this is rom removes a lot of them for me.

Jellybean for Tab 7.7 ?

Galaxy Tab 7 2 already got their JB leaked.
Is Tab 7.7 going to have JB coming for us?
or ICS is the last update we going to have?

We can continue to stay hopping for Samsung supporting it with JB or start to enjoy it with CM10 port now...
I haven't even got ICS yet!

There are lot of problems with CM10 that will probably never be fixed,
the GPS not working does it for me.

Exactly - still no sign of ICS for my UAE version GT-6800 yet, either OTA or KIES. Not holding my breath for Jellybean and debating whether or not to flash my device myself using ODIN and a d/led Austrian ROM.

I use JB on my SGS3, not much difference from ICS
Still I would like to have JB on my tab, so I flashed a CM10 based ROM, if on one hand it was easier to have status bar on top, like the phone, I didnt like the large soft buttons, they use too much screen space
So I stay in ICS until there is a Samsung leak

Does JB force the 'desktop' to be portrait mode, or is that only a Nexus 7 'thing'?
I usually use my Tab in portrait anyway (it seems more natural with the ~7" form factor) but I'd prefer to have the desktop orient to whichever way I happened to be holding the tablet when I exit an application.

i second this, CM10 very buggy and not worth the hassle just to get a taste of JB, i have Google Now running on ICS so it will do for now.

I use mostly the browser, so landscape mode, JB goes into landscape mode, but the bottom soft buttons take almost an inch
I got used very quickly to the ICS TAB buttons and status bar, actually prefer them to the phone layout :good:

If you change your DPI to 160 (the original value for the 7.7), CM10 goes back to Tablet mode (the default is 213 DPI, whih gives you the "phablet" mode introduced by the Nexus 7). I'm using it in this configuration for a long time now.

[RANT]I don't understand people who use a forum called xda DEVELOPERS and have an anti-development attitude. "This has lots of bugs and will never work", "they will never fix it", "Samsung knows it best", etc. We have a single developer for CM9 and CM10, who has bricked his own device irrecoverably, then got a new one to keep developing. Will there be bugs? Of course. Just like Samsung's ICS has bugs. But the developers for CM actually do listen to users, and try to fix whatever issue you may have (which is more than I can say about Samsung, since they introduce new bugs, like our WiFi on ICS, or even add a bricking option to an unbrickable phone, like the Galaxy S2 from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4).
If you don't support the active development being made by our fine members, you may find other forums where you won't even see that option. And where your comments won't be offensive to people who are doing their best to make your device more usable.[/RANT]

I used CM on my SGS1 and SGS2 until we got ICS, wich is good enough not to need CM, any way, I dont think it is necessary to play with DPI and processor speed, never did it...
I've tried a handful of custom roms too. And I'd say KUDOS to all the Devs for their hardwork. But I'm still finding myself going back to stock ICS. Specially now that I've updated mine to the official ICS for my Tab's country/region.
With JB update, I'm still positive we'll be getting it.

The custom ROMs based on official releases have the advantage of eliminating bloatware, and the kernels of eliminating most debugging, I stay away of the ones that play with speed and density :good:

Don't bother to flash to any of ICS update as those are not reliable.
After flashing dozens of ROM,l have settled for stock honey Comb.
Wait for wifi bug to be fixed.

[Q] New to Android/S3. Bought Unlocked S3 and have a few questions about Cyanogenmod

Hi All,
Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask these questions. Please let me know if I should move the thread.
Backstory: I bought an unlocked S3 off of craigslist last weekend. I bought a SIM card adapter so my nano-sim from my iPhone 5 will work in the S3. I really love the phone, minus a few issues. I can't get LTE to work, and the battery seems to be pretty bad as it's constantly searching and dropping my 3g cell signal.
It's running Android 4.2.2 via Cyanogenmod. All I know is that this is not the standard Touchwiz OS that ships with the S3 from samsung, and is a variant of the standard 4.2.2 OS from Google.
Questions:
1. Is my lack of LTE due to the OS? Someone recommended to me that I should put the phone back to the stock Touchwiz OS (via Mobile Odin), which would enable the LTE. Think that's the case? Or is this an issue with my Nano SIM and AT&T account?
2. Using this Cyanogen 4.2.2, I don't get any onscreen notifications when I get a text, email or calendar alert. My friends with stock S3's and Notes all get these types of notifications. Am I missing something with Cyanogen 4.2.2 or should I try to go back to Touchwiz?
3. If I were to go back to touchwiz, I was told I could just download it onto my S3 sim card and install/load it via Mobile Odin. Is this the case? This is my first time working with Android phones, so it's all greek to me for now. If I switch to stock Touchwiz, will I lose all of my aps and configurations and have to re-set it up? What other cool things would I be losing?
I really do love this phone and would love to stick with it over my iPhone 5. The lack of LTE, good battery life (probably can be improved with tweaks) and onscreen notifications are making it tough for me to make this my daily driver.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!
