Odin to stock if you are not on stock rom. Or try charging for a few hours while phone is off then wipe batt stats and put questions in the right section! MODS please move.

Try battery calibration anyways. See if it will go past 88 after.
if it does calibrate again at 100

Is my battery life crappy because I made a mistake?

I let the thing drain until it turned off, then turned it back on and drain some more then charged it while it was off when I first got it.. should I get a new battery because right now I can barely last 8 hours with set cpu and all the stuff.. Ive done many calibration things but no change..

I think it's unlikely you ruined your battery but it couldn't hurt to swap it out at a Sprint store, I'm sure they would do that for you
Is it free?

Getting the battery to too low of a voltage can damage it, yes. It's unlikely you actually managed that though.

It's supposed to do that.
It doesn't charge up to 100% to preserve the battery's health, it's designed this way.
If you really want it up to 100%, you can always bump charge it.

Also to note. Bump charging can cause problems, so read that to decide whether or not you want to do it.

Battery glitch?

Found a way to make my battery last longer. Strange, but every time I reboot the phone, I gain 20% back. How can this be and is this something I should be concerned about or just a if it ain't broke thing?

Calibrate your battery.
Charge your phone to 100%. If it stops changing before 100%, your phone is reporting a wrong battery percentage, ie the battery is at 100% but the phone thinks it is at 80%.
You can try this
Does it matter that im completely stock and locked? Only rooted.

Try the jaggurnaut's fix. Search forum, there are tons of threads for this already.

Its a bug with the stock build. Hopefully motorola fixes it with the net software update.

Did you try Battery Caliberation?

Q Is anynkind of batter training required?

Is any kind of battery training required for the new s4
And how to do so if yes
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda premium
Nope just use it. I like to wait till it's below 15% to charge it and always leave it charging till its full.
The main thing is not to let it discharge completely.
