Myscript Notes Mobile - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

Has anyone heard of myscript notes mobile for android? It is done by vision objects. It is a note taking app that converts handwriting from a stylus to text. They are currently only releasing it for oem. There is no way im waiting on Samsung to pick it up and push it to us. Has anyone seen an apk of this floating around?

Any updates?
hi praetorian,
i know this was over two years ago, but just wanted to know if you've had any luck with this? i actually found and downloaded the apk for notes mobile, but as expected, it doesn't work on my galaxy p7500.
(still looking for the best combination to be able to handwrite my notes on the tablet.)

This function is incorporated into the S NOTE in the Note 10.1

Have you tried WritePad by Phatware? I use it to take notes at meetings -- works very well for me with a stylus. It turns handwriting into typed text. Very few errors.

there are also Freenote and Asus's Supernote. Supernote is able to get in theme and app section

[Q] Pen/Stylus Input

Does anyone know if pen/stylus input is supported on the Nexus 7? If not, is there any app that would allow this?

Pen input
I can confirm that the pen input works well on the N7 in fact it's the only Android tablet that comes any where near the iPad in this area.
At last I can use an Android tablet for quick notes! I have both the Bamboo and Samsung Stylus.
Regards
Bob
Excellent to hear.
Looking to buy an N7 soon, and this is something I'd like for both my GS2 and the N7. Typing my notes gets tedious and I'd also like to include drawings with my notes.
Good to hear it works

A stylus is much easier than a finger I find.

Ezpdf palm rejection on 8013

Has anyone been able to get palm rejection for ezpdf working on the 8013?

I think...palm rejection works with every app. when you put s-pen near screen( about 1-2cm). the screen will recognize only pen and wont do anything if you touch with your hand.
Thanks for the reply, but this is not the case with ezpdf and other pdf annotation apps. Palm rejection does work quite well with SNote though.

Like I said, palm rejection works everytime I put my s-pen near screen. ( every where, in every app)
If yours not working, then maybe something is wrong.
Sent from my GT-N8010 using xda app-developers app
It doesn't work for me, either. And it's not the case that it works in every app just because an app recognizes the s pen. For instance, Polaris Office recognizes the S pen but it doesn't have palm rejection.

On my N8010 it doesn't work either, it's quite annoying
Btw: has anyone found out how to erase mistakes on this pdf editor. Because i cant find anything, i just can add something but not delet anything

I'm using ezPdf, it works like a charm. You must enable palm rejection in settings. To select the eraser, simply tap on the pen icon and then choose eraser from the list

I don't have the option in my settings. There's another thread on pdf editing apps which mentioned the same. Are you on an 8010 or 8013?

I have n8010. If I have this checked or not. It still recognizes only pen when near screen... weird

I don't have that option in the settings. Might be a version issue with ezPDF? I'm running 1.9.8.1. Looks like there's a newer version but I got mine on the Amazon app store and they haven't updated it.

This seems too ridiculous to be true, but it seems the 8010s have palm rejection option in ezpdf and 8013's do not.

I just flashed 8013 to 8010 and upgraded to JB. Now I see the palm rejection option in ezpdf settings and it seems to be working fine.

Still no palm rejection option after updating to official 4.1.2 for n8013. I guess this is a Samsung issue, but unidocs never replied to my support emails.
Palm rejection worked wonderfully well for me in the stock rom for 8013 that came pre loaded.. Dont know why some people have issues...
I easily spent around 5-6 hrs daily on ezpdf annotating stuff and no issues..
The keything - pen has to be close to the screen for it to work..
I too just noticed this. Palm rejection was terrible for me using ezpdf. But when I flashed the N8000 firmware, I saw that setting and it worked wonderfully. But then I flashed the new N8013 JB update and the option is gone. Really peculiar. I'll have to see if I can write the dev and get a response.
Edit: My international Note 2 also does not have the setting. That's just so bizarre to me that the option round only show up in certain firmwares.

That's normal behavior for this technology. It disables touch when the pen is in proximity. But that's not palm rejection. Palm rejection is just that -- you rest your palm on the screen and it rejects any associated touch events, simulating the effect of writing on paper. And that's the issue many of us are having with ezpdf -- palm rejection not working as it should.

I think I have confused some of you here
Palm rejection works only when the stylus is close to the screen.
The option to disable palm fully is not found in the settings.( I have such a setting my galaxy note 5.3 inch ).
There is something in the apk that prevents this setting from showing up.
I am going to shoot the dev a mail today about this. But I know some of the others have already done this.
Just realized that there is a new update in playstore... I am going to try it out and report..

[Q] Evernote update

I've got question for note 3 owners who use evernote and s-note.
I've read that note 3 has some really great features as far as s-note and evernote integration goes such as s-note note preview in evernote or s-pen hover preview of the note in evernote.
I would like to know whether these features keep working after the update of the evernote app. It would be shame if it stopped working, as it happened with youtube and scrapbooker integration.
Thanks,
Lucas
I use these heavily, and love them. It all works fine with the latest app update.
Thank you. That's great.
Another thing crossed my mind.
Is it possible to search through all evernote notes using s-finder or only the ones that were created using s-note?

You can set S-Finder so it also searches Evernote. I just checked. I also did a search and S-Finder also pulled up results from Evernote. So for your question: Yes S-Finder finds notes you created on the phone as well as the Evernote database.
Thank you very much. That resolves my doubts. Now I'm sure it is worth to jump from s4 to note 3

I knew it would save to Evernote but I can't figure out how to get it to see other things in the database

PowerPoint annotation app besides Polaris

Hello, I've been using Polaris office for more than a year on both my note 2 and note 10.1. It has crashed on me many times and lost a lot of work coz of that. Is there any other app which is capable of drawing on ppt? Really appreciate thanks!*
As a student I do a lot of annotations. For pdf I use ezpdf works really well except some unintuitive features. For word doc I use Polaris.

Try kingsoft, or officesuite
Sent from my GT-N8000 using Tapatalk 4
Thanks, but I've both, they claim to allow free hand drawing but I am unable to find the function. Kingsoft version 5.8 and officesuite 7.3.1510. Am I missing something?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I dont know but you can try google's Quickoffice
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I've tried that but it doesn't have annotation features, it's functions are even less than other free apps :/
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I think Polaris is the only one that actually allows good annotation on ppt although the eraser kind of sucks.
I've found that any ppt with the file ".pptx" will cause EXTREMELY LONG SAVING and sometimes, just crash with the reason of not enough memory or something.
So what I've been doing for class is downloading the pptx to my computer and converting it to Word document 2003-07 so it would have a ".ppt" file. Any amount of handwriting I do to the .ppt file gets save very quick and stays. The ppt I use usually have 80+ slides.
Is this how you've been doing it with polaris? I also have quickoffice and officesuite in my tablet just for multiple viewing of ppts but none really allows me to annotate other than polaris.
Yes exactly my sentiments. I faced the problem of taking very long to save and sometimes crashing, but did not notice if it was pptx. Thanks for the advice I'll give it a try! The eraser really sucks lol. I tried the Polaris version 5.0 but doesn't work well with note 10.1. Guess I have to stick to Polaris then.

Microsoft does have an office for android app. I'm not sure what if any features it has for powerpoint or if it's any better than any other app just because it's from Microsoft, but it might be worth checking out if you haven't already. I believe you need to have a qualifying subscription to office 365 to use it though. I think you can setup a trial subscription if you don't have one. Since you are a student I believe you can get a 4 your subscription for $80 that will give you the full office suite on up to 5 computers plus mobile devices so definitely an option if you find that the app is useful.
I've tried it, Ms office for android would never be any good because it would be against their interest by provide true productivity on android instead of Windows tablet.

And do you need to keep the ppt format? If not you could print it in pdf format and manipulate it with SNote, ezPdf or RepliGo, for example.

Best Apps for Galaxy Note 10.1 2014

Hi guys
I just bought my gf a new Note 10.1. Her first Android Tablet xD
I'm always working so I can only really have a play around during the weekends and myself don't use tablets so I don't really know the "Android Tablet space"
Please share Apps which you think works immaculately with the new Note and show off its stylus capabilities. It'll be good for all of us!

I bet you're getting a lot of... attention I'm still new myself but the one app that find to be the most useful is Lecturenotes. Can't beat it for, well, you know.

Lecture Notes it's amazing, it takes some time to customize it because it has a TON of options (which is a good thing), s-pen response it's the fastest I've ever tried.
For drawing Sketchbook Pro and Artflow are very good, the note comes with a free pro version of Sketchbook.

I like Papyrus for note taking, a great app. I have not tried Lecturenotes, I will have to check that out.
Podcasts: BeyondPod is great and my unlock key for the phone version works on the tablet version as well.
Enjoy your Note 10.1!
Hehe, thanks, you too. Papyrus is very nice looking, BUT, s-pen it's a little laggy. Lecture Notes is not as pretty but it's WAY more better and customizable, and there's no lag with the s-pen. Any app you buy can be used in all your devices, as long as you're using your same google account, so don't worry about that.

Just discovered a useful setting for the Note 10.1 when used in the original Samsung case. You can deactivate the back button when using Lecture Notes, see Display settings in Lecture Note.
