So I've pretty much flashed every rom here at one point or another and am currently on salvage asop.
I have adw as my launcher with 7 screens and multpicture live wallpaper swapping out every minute and transitions set to cards. All my regularly used apps are in the scrollable dock.
Does anyone else enjoy such a plain, clean setup like this?
BTW wallpaper is pointing to a folder with about 1000 hot chicks. That could be part of it. Lol

You have 7 screens, no widgets, and all your apps are in the dock? Why not just have one screen?

Becouse i can fling back and fourth between 7 half neked chicks that switch out every 60 seconds.

I read your Reply to the wife. She laughed and said " even I got it" meaning even she knew why I had 7 home screens. BTW why do they limit it to 7? Lol

Salvage is my 2nd favorite rom, super stable, great battery life... but in MIUI, which I currently run, you can have a seemingly unlimited amount of homescreens I stopped adding at like 15 when I realized I'd never go beyond having 5 homescreens, heh. Make a nandroid of your current setup and try it out, I love MIUI!
Haha cool bean. I have thought about running with no apps on home screen.

This + NAND = nexusS quality experience?
Either way, very nice launcher!
I was hoping there was a demo or a lite version to experience it a little bit... this way I am not sure if I am sold on it - gotta pay $3 to experience - to late for refund then.
we'll see what happens in reviews - so far it looks pretty kewl
Juts download and install applanet, You will get all the latest paid versions for free, This is what I use to "test" programs and if I like them I buy them, If I dont like them or find something wrong with them I bin them.

GDE launcher anyone tried? I now use it because I like doing dice table, the animation is spectacular.
looks decent,
features i use the most on launcher pro...
continuous scrolling dock
(dock) swipe up to:
-launch another app (2 actions per icon)
-show 'leap' view
-show notifications
can anyone say if these features are available in this?
many thanks

Do you know where I can suggest the dev some features ?
Most important for me is : set the default screen to the first one not the centre, put the "1-icon dock" on the right or left and not only in the centre, be able to choose the icons background.
Fantastic job for the rest. Super fast...
Edit : can someone confirm me that ADWNotifier works with this ?

The refund period recently changed to 15 minutes, contrary to the 24h earlier. What kind of person proposed this change, I don't know. This short timespan barely left me with any time to test ADW EX, so I ended up asking a refund because I don't feel like buying a product I'm not sure I like.
In short: it's not the devs fault.
Liking it...
.. but doesnt feel faster to me compared to launcherpro
Yeah sure you can set the homescreen transitions to fly by alot quicker than you can in LP, but overall LP just feels smoother to me.
Apart from that, my currentwidget now hovers between 9-16ma in standby, where my phone was consistant between 6-9ma with LP.

Certainly too short to really try a launcher that looks and acts seemingly like another one. Not enough time to find out any specific nuances that we may like.
In fairness though, I can't see any reason why anyone would change launchers to use this. They all look the same to me, with a few "little" features that hardly make the transition worthwhile.
Not knocking the app itself. Just don't get reinventing the wheel, and then releasing newer versions of it.

Haha nicely worded.
been using LP for about 3 weeks now, love it, however i just got ADW, been using it for like 30 minutes, and extremely loving it.
The one important thing i noticed:
w/ 7 screens in LP fully packed w/ widgets, folder, apps...when you 'pinch' the screen to view the preview screens it stutters. Like it lags the first time you 'pinch' it, after that initial swipe, it is fine. This got really annoying, especially when coming out of sleep mode.
w/ 7 screens in ADW EX fully packed w/ widgets, folder, apps...when you 'pinch' it is still smooth as silk, coming out of sleep mode as well.
I'm still comparing the two for now, i'll keep you all updated
comparing both w/ DS's SupperRam 1.5
I recently s-off my phone and rooted it and try a couple of roms but to tell you the truth cyanogen and mexdroid are tough all of my apps work except you tube on cyanogen it gave some hard time besides that any problem go to fix permisions on rom manager and that s it thanks this is my first post so feel free to reply

Welcome to XDA! And yeah, ignore the people whining about grammar.
Never gave mexdroid a chance. That annoying ass startup sound was unreal. The bloody gore was a bit unnecessary also. I guess i'm not a typical guy in that i'm not into all that. Couldn't really give it a chance after that. Yes yes i know all that can be changed.
CM7 is the best imo, ONLY after you get rid of POOP launcher (adw). That launcher brings that rom down so far it's not even funny. ANY other launcher is better. Stock ginger launcher by eugene turns it into a powerhouse. What does adw stand for? Unadulterated Disastrous Waste?
People whining about grammar are not haters. They just understand that the world runs smoother with punctuation. It isn't that hard to hit period or comma. ADW launcher is crap.
ADW ex, on the other hand, is a brilliant thing. the newest update's 3d drawer is hands down the best I have seen, basically looks and feels like the stock launcher (which was one of my biggest gripes with all of the custom launchers, their 3d drawers all blew... not anymore). of course, it's also not free.
different strokes for different folks... but mexdroid is fugly. looks like something a three year old would have fathomed after watching transformers.
(no offense to the dev of course, I appreciate every dev's work even if it's not my cup of tea)
also, op, you will find that fixing permissions will come in handy maybe once or twice the entire time you own your phone.. it is not the fix your phone button.

I wasn't thrilled with the lack of the app drawer but that's easily fixed by loading another launcher. When I was using MIUI it was Launcher Pro.
MIUI looks like iOS after a fresh flash, but it doesn't have to. That's what I love most about it, I can theme every aspect of it. I use Alt Drawer, so I have an app drawer.
Plus it's smooth, has a lot of neat apps, and is different than any other rom I've seen. I switched to it because I was bored with CM7 and didn't like Sense. That was in April and I haven't looked back.

i tried that, but the more apps i put in, the laggier it got for some reason, and it was really cramped, kind of annoying to try to find an app lol
I am on the dislike MIUI bandwagon too. I'm not going to bash it as I agree it has some sick features. The killer for me was the app drawer and 4g. I think if I gave it more than a day I could customize it to my liking but I just like Sense and all the Sense features.
I thought about maybe a custom launcher but then I thought "why change from a Sense rom that is native to my HTC phone that guarantees GPS ect to work by default and install one that isn't just to put a launcher over it and defeat the purpose"
I got bored with Sense launcher and Rosie so I currently have ADW ex installed and still have flawless gps, the dialer I like, everything synced how I like, email app I like apps where I want ect... right from the start.
I could do that with MIUI or CM but then I have to install DialerOne, GoSMS and a few other things to get what I like. I can't stand any of the AOSP dialer and sms layouts.
If I didn't live in such a 4g rich area I would probably give MIUI the turn it deserves but that is a killer before I start. It's also what's really irking me about the new Sense 3.5 Roms. Runny~Bliss(i think) hybrid looks gorgeous to me..... but I'll wait it out.
Miui isn't a bad rom at all. At first I refuse to use it because it did remind me of my old iPhone. But ended up trying it and loving it.
I get better battery life with miui compared to sense. Plus there is alot of built in apps and features to miui that is bad ass. And who can forget all the sweet customizing you can do to it. For example just did this setup below a few minutes ago...
One somewhat downside for me is the no 4G but then again that only effects me when I go visit my parents up state. That's when I backup Miui and switch to a sense Rom problem solved haha.
Sent From my Verizon powered Evo 4G!
MIUI is AMAZING. I love it. And the theming? NO ROM beats it! Its fantastic the way you can make your phone look. The only reason why I won run it, is because of the laggyness of the keyboard.
Here is my current setup of MIUI, and it damn sure doesn't look like iOS to me...
BTW, my GPS snaps perfectly, syncing all 8 SATS in about a millisecond. I really don't get why people make comments without knowing how to do something.
Maybe it does look a bit like iOS. But I don't care, it's still the smoothest and best ROM I've flashed on my Evo. (and particularly this week's build is quite stable so far).

Not sure if that was directed to my gps comment but either way...... It's a know fact that aosp based roms are more subject to gps issue and have had numerous "fixes" posted to resolve.
It's not a matter of what I KNOW how to do it what i WANT to deal with. I never said aosp or miui were bad by any means. Just not my cup.
Posted a long time ago in the future.
I used to think the same. Now, I have customized Miui to my liking by creating my own app drawer and installing a new theme via the built in theme manager. It is very fast, very advanced, highly customizable and finally pulled me away from Sense (though I do have two Sense Roms in my Boot Manager slots).

Who needs an App Drawer when you can have these Folder Cubes.
This video is after an hour or so of goofing with it.
No way was this a quick process. But it was easy to do.
Yes I did move every app from my App Drawer to the Folder
Cube on the desktop.
And no. You haven't lost or began to need reading glasses.
Just try imagine that I took the time to clear up the video a little bit.
There's not a lot that I can do to lessen the pointlessness. So. Much like the video. I didn't
even try to correct that one. Sorry E.R.
Not too bland eh?
It is easy to see that the larger icons take a few seconds to load. I will send a link to this video to the dev and see if there is a way to put large, and even customized icons (for the ones that it doesn't find.) into the cache somewhere. Maybe it will be an easy fix. Other than that I have to say that it is pretty nice on the Iconia. I don't regret buying it one bit. Now to find the Nook Color...

Look for a app called Folder Organizer.. I have it and set it up once it allows you create groups with menus on your home screen .. not exactly what your looking for but you might like it.. also DENSITY CHANGER APP.. im not sure the exact name .. changes the screen density . This changes the icon size not sure if it will allow you to drop more on there or not..

Anyway to answer your question not feeling the same. The S2 is running on Android 2.3 which is lightning even on the older Hummingbird SoC in the gtab 7.0 and galaxy S. HC in general has always felt a bit laggy and choppy even on other SoCs like tegra 2/3. Changing out TW helps a bit but still wont get rid of all the lag that's inherent in 3.0-3.2
Its Touchwiz. Dump it and try ADW EX or something.
Seriously.
Yes as others have said, Honeycomb and TouchWiz is really slowing down the system. For the OS we can't do anything about until ICS comes out. With TW we can replace with other launchers. I had ADW, then tried GO Launcher but thought that was still a bit laggy. Have now gone back to ADW.
Yeah I think honeycomb is the drag on this one..

The Galaxy Note has the same resolution and the same chipset, but it's running on Gingerbread. And it's very fast.
The blame is on honeycomb. Hopefully ICS will fix it
Fast enough for me. No complaints

No, it really isn't. TouchWiz is the culprit here. My 7.7 with ADW EX absolutely FLIES!!!

I agree.
I installed ADW EX and its much much faster going between screens. Still a little lag if you have tons of widgets but nowhere near as laggy as Touchwiz

Idk, I have a lot of widgets on my three homescreens, and I don't get any lag at all. One screen has my Google+ widgets and 3G watchdog, my main screen has 4 weather widgets and a Citrix widget, and my other screen has two Pulse widgets, Facebook, and Youtube. No lag at all!
JadeEyedWolf..... Do I have to delete the Samsungs TouchWiz widgets off of the Home screens FIRST???
Before I install AWD EX??
Thanks Man!!!

Not at all. In fact, if you wanted to, you can run multiple launchers of your choosing (see which one you like most and such) and customize each how you would like. Once you're confident that you prefer one over the others, you can set that as the default, and it should be buttery smooth. Just reboot your device so that the memory used for the other launchers is freed up. When you boot your device, it'll go straight to the launcher of your choosing, and the other ones won't even go into the system memory unless and until you load them.
P.S. If ever you want to go back to any other launcher, you can clear your default setting by going into Manage Applications, finding the launcher you're currently using, and selecting "clear defaults"
Next time you press the home button, it'll ask you which launcher to go to.
Thanks man

I dont have the tab yet but can you do a simple test for me with ADW Launcher EX in landscape mode... can you put up about 6 widget bookmarks at the size of 1x2 on a home screen and see if the screen animation is still smooth going in and out of that screen.
I hope this is not too much to ask.
ICS ETA Q2 2012? I read that somewhere but can't remember the source.. Why didn't they release this damn thing with ICS? It was a 2012 release for God's sake..

Like browser bookmarks? My main homescreen already has about 5 widgets as it stands, and it's smooth (4 MyCast weather maps, and on Citrix widget).
