Hey thought I would stop back and check because I have a mt4g sitting around and its bricked I guess? Did anyone or is there any possible solution to restoring my phone since flashing the pd115 to restore it without flashing the stock radio first? Or is it just bricked forever?

Hey everyone, I flashedthe tranquility ROM a while back but part of me just wants to go back to the stock ROM. Before any of you say to just go into my recovery don't because im a complete idiot and somehow corrupted the recovery so it is completely useless =/ any help would be greatly appriciated.

Do a search for pd15img.zip.

Look in the development section. There are a ton of step by step guides if you search.

Find the above file, have it saved to root of sdcard, boot into bootloader, bootloader will find the file on the card and prompt to install the stock image... follow prompts and done.
Nandroid first but really is easy.

I first flashed the 2.2.1 OTA. Then I flashed the stock recovery. Afterwards, flashed the stock radio. That's what I did. All are available in the Development section.

You could have used pd15img.zip to do all of that in one flash via hboot.
It's safer to flash back to the stock radio first to avoid getting stuck in a limbo situation in which attempting to flash back to stock results in "Main version older" with radio s-on rather than do it all in one step.

This guide should solve your problem. It involves hex editing the misc.img among other things to allow you to successfully flash back to stock.

If you used the gfree method of rooting, the following guide is pretty good:

Hope this helps.

I know this is probably the wrong section but I figured this is where I would get the best answer. I rooted and got s-off using grankins guide. Recently I got a factory replacement and turned the s-on to send it in but like a dummy I forgot to put the radio back to stock. I tried using the same guide to try to get s back off but it wont work. Any ideas?

Why does it matter if the radio is back to stock they don't check it.i sent in a phone fully rooted and they didn't care or notice

I think you are stuck if you didn't revert back to stock radio before unrooting. Look at this post.

You can send it in for repair. But maybe you should try Heimdall which is about the third post in that thread.

Hello All,
Should I freeze my updater so I do not get any future updates without me wanting them? I heard if you have a rooted devices with a custom recovery sometimes an ota update can not only remove root but brick your phone. If this is so can anyone show me how to freeze the updater?
Thank you.
Kinda would like this information since I'm still using my stock ROM and don't wanna accidentally take any otas
Sent from my VS980 4G using xda app-developers app
well its illegal to automatically update your phone without your consent so you shouldn't need to block anything. However ofcourse you could "accidently" update so its up to you.

If your on the stock ROM and rooted and have custom recovery installed you will absolutely brick your device. This happened to quite a few people here including myself and it took about a day for the devs to get our devices fixed when the first OTA rolled out. So yes freeze it. if your on a custom ROM then you need not worry about this.

What exactly do I freeze. I'm assuming I can use titanium backup to freeze it but I have no idea what to freeze.
