I did my daily software update check from Settings > About Tablet > Software Update.
After having the box sit on the screen for about 10 minutes it said I had an update. After a reboot I'm good to go! Booya.
Edit: After reboot - Device updated to version P7510UEKM7
cool restoring to stock to check this.
Are you rooted? I assume that in order to get this, you have to be running stock ota 3.1 right?

The general forum is a cesspool of bad information and rumors. If you believed everything posted in this forum, then your wifi Tab would have a hidden micro SD card reader inside.
No pix; no confirmation. No update manifest posted; no confirmation. No root-safe version posted in the dev forum; just chill out and wait.
(Note: this isn't a commentary on the OP -- just general observation.)
(P.S. Accepting an OTA update on an Android device is a good way to permanently lose root. Never, never, never accept an OTA if you want to keep root. Wait for the update to be analyzed, and if necessary rooted and posted as a flashable ROM.)

I know this is the slowest forum i have been. This is a great tab and i don't know why there are not that many people buying or atleast in the forums. May be something to do with lots of android tablets available now and also this is the most expensive android tablet currently.
I read in a recent post a way to get logged in to the samsung account. It was only a couple of days back.

If someone gets it, pull it from the cache folder before updating. It could be used by man. I'd like to be able to take advantage of such for sure.
For those that have received it, does it make a difference if you apply the update with the keyboard docked or not docked? Has anyone had success with either?

You're right. It is beta right now. The Asus dev contacted the people in the thread about dock disconnect issues and asked for the Mac address so we can push the update. He did say that you could brick your device if you were rooted before so suggests going back to stock before applying the update. Last night I got the notification there was a fw update and this am got a notification saying there was a dock firmware update. The Asus tech did say it would be released publicly soon

Yeah its not that difficult. Just download the latest update from the Asus website. Unzip it, you will see a blob file in the zip. Follow the root instructions for flashing the blob but instead of using CWM_BLOB use the one you extracted from the zip. You should go back to stock recovery and stock non root after its done

This update bricked my dock, so be careful. I have PM'd the dev, waiting for an answer.
I was not rooted, and I have since rolled back to 20110423 with no love. The dock is not recognized, and the charging light does not come on at all when plugged in to the wall. Obviously the dock has its own firmware...I sure would like to know how to update it (if it is even possible now) to bring it back to life.
Is there a way to download and apply it manually? Or someone can point me on how to contact Asus dev on the forum for an update? I would like to try it as well. Thanks
The firmware is a 13mb zip with 9mb blob, patch folders and a new firmware for the keyboard - TF101-EC-0208.rom. I am rooted so I have not installed it yet, but, was able to download it by enabling the dmclient.apk (You mac had to be submitted for it to be available). The file makes patches to odexed files so you definitely could not install it over a root deodexed rom.
For the dock that is not responding, the dock update is done by an app called fu. You can try connecting to adb and checking dmesg after inserting the dock to see if it is being recognized. If it does it will tell you fire firmware version. If it does show up and is the older firmware you can try manually running that update.
Thanks, Superdave. I will try that. I am reverted to the 20110423 firmware, however. Do I need to get my hands on the 20110509 firmware?
Not to check if the dock is connecting and flash it. The fu utility is ASUCEC Firmware Update Tool version 2.07. If the dock is recognized when connecting (shown in dmesg) you should be able to relfash it. When you run fu it will list the options you'll need to pass the cfg file and the rom name.

Stock US ROM, whatever the latest Honeycomb version was. Absolutely pure stock; no rooting or unlocking or anything. Just the updates that had been previously accepted from Motorola.
Well, seems like you're one of the first on XDA to get it. Browsing other threads and I see no mentions of OtA pushes.
Still going to flash back to 3.0 and see where it takes me!

I believe that the update will only be pushed out to GED (Google Experience Device) Xooms, thus precluding UK Xooms to the update. You could try using the Motorola GED fastboot images to "restore" the GED firmware, and then waiting for the OTA. At that point, though, I'd wonder why you wouldn't simply just want to install one of the custom ROMs I mention in my XDA portal or BriefMobile posts.

Indeed. I'm starting to find the approach to OTA updates by Google a bit hap-hazard quite frankly. It's the same with my Galaxy Nexus. Some people I know who have purchased the phone recently have 4.0.2 on their GSM phone. I can't even get the OTA for it!
I've never stayed stock on any devices but as these devices get crisper I've tended to look at staying stock.
The only reason for me not to currently is the piss-poor way in which OTAs are managed. This Xoom update might just be another example.

This is Nvidia's fault, as far as I can remember. That said, it still works perfectly, and should not cause any issues for now.
Hello guys,
I have a Motorola Xoom and I can't wait to get ICS. When I browse the ICS topics, I see a lot of people who changed their xoom version to US, fe from Canadian to US. I don't know wich version I have, but it's not a US version, because I still don;t have the upgrade. If someone could maybe give a short description of how to change it to US, I would be so gratefull!!!
These steps worked great for me

Thanks! I only hope this will work for mine, since mine is probably Dutch or European and the description is for UK or Canadion Xooms. But i don't think that should be a proble. Anyway, I'm gonna try and pray that it works!

It works fine. I did it myself a few months ago, flashing my Canadian Xoom with the US ROM, after which I was obtaining the US OTA updates. I don'T remember which procedure I used however, but I can confirm that there's a working procedure somewhere here on the forums.
I got it unlocked and every image would flash ok, apart from system.img. I really don't understand why. I followed the tutorial word for word and obviously I was doing something right or I wouldn't have been able to flash the other images.
In the end I just installed CWM and flashed Team EOS ICS from the recovery.
Worked Great and First Time on my brand new UK Wifi Xoom
Just bought a Wifi only xoom today from carphone warehouse and was a bit dubious about doing this, not wanting to brick my brand new Tablet.
I thought stuff it though, if doesn't work it can go back in the same afternoon that I bought it and I'll get a Refund (was last one in stock, due to them selling them for £249)
Anyway,
Worked a charm once I found the folder where the fast boot was hiding within the zip file.
Took a little while to do, but dead easy
The one thing I did wrong at first was not noticing that each image file had the same filename name written after FLASH and before the filename.img too
(i.e written twice on the command, must be going blind in my old age)
The longest part was going through all the updates on the xoom until finally getting ICS.
Working great now though.
Thanks guys for a great tutorial.
Dean
Are you HK or taiwan version? These problem is almost in these two version.

Were you able to convert yours? I've got a US wifi version, but my dad has a Canadian version and he wants me to convert it to a US version for him.
What happened with the system.img the screen shot seems to suggest it started? Couldn't see any error?
It takes longer to push the system.img over if I recall correctly its a much larger file ...
Edit oh, checked again and saw the fail. Odd. I can probably find and upload the system.img that I used if it would help.

My guess is that if 4.2.2 just came out for nexus devices not long ago ASUS may not have it for a while. If I remember correctly from my wife's Nexus 7 4.2 was buggy as hell, 4.2.1 was a vast improvement. I can't recall what 4.2.2 improves upon, but we didn't notice much change after I got her tablet upgraded last night.

Those of you that have received the update, are you just checking for update in the about section on the tablet? I just updated mine to the last OTA, hadn't done that yet, and was going to try to update through the system updates but it tells me I'm up to date.

Here’s how ota Google typically operates:
Rollouts are conducted in phases. Typically they start at 1% of devices for around 24 – 48 hours; we watch the return rates and resulting device checkins and error reports (if any), and make sure nothing looks wrong before sending it to more. Then typically it goes to 25%, 50%, 100% over the course of a week or two.
What the percentages mean is that when your device checks in, it has a 1% chance (for example) of being offered the OTA. If it doesn’t (randomly) get an offer, it will never get an offer until the next batch.
IOW, once your device checks in and gets turned down, that’s it until the next batch. Mashing on the “check for updates” button just causes your device to check in again, and get automatically turned down again. Think about how that makes your device feel! WON’T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE PHONES?!
That said, once the new batch does start, hitting that button does give you a new roll of the dice — but once. Since devices usually only check in for system updates every 24 hours (I think? Certainly on a many-hours basis) this can get you your shot sooner than it would happen on its own.

The OTA made it to my wife's phone this morning, but I need to clear up some data space for her. Besides, the 10-30min window for the installation time is scary. We have to go to work, and I'm the tech junkie. Not her...

When you guys do get it, if you keep getting a notification about Google play services needing something, go to app info and uninstall updates. That clears it right up
I would be interested in the OTA update also as I have rooted using CF-Auto-Root and it tripped the knox counter. When I try to update, it says that my my operating system has been modified in an unauthorized way. I am hoping I can install via the OTA. I have tied Kies 3 but it keeps crashing soon after I launch the program
Took OTA. First thing I've noticed is that lag has been eliminated from the recent apps menu.
Phone is noticeably smoother
