Microphone problems

Just wondering does anyone experience the problem of recording a video on the Omnia 7, yet no sound is recorded during playback?
I've noticed this heaps of times where apps which require the mic (Shazam, bing voice search, and as mentioned recording a video) does not pic up any sound. The only way to remedy this problem is by dialling a contact and ending it right away before it alerts them. This kind of activates the mic of the phone. Anyone experiencing this?
No, sound is good with my Omnia. Video recording, apps that require the mic...no problem at all.
Thanks. Weird how mine sometimes dont work. Was recording a video, and when I played it back it had no sound... It seems fine now though, but I reckon it will come back eventually ><

Google Talk Video audio issues

Ive been using Gtalk to video conference but for some reason i cannot hear any audio, but the other person can hear me. Is there a fix for this? also Skype does not display any video for me, and i can hear the person, but they can't hear me.

audio popping/crackling from bottom mic when recording

I just purchased a new Galaxy S4, but have an issue with popping on recorded audio. The pop is mostly coming from the bottom microphone. When I record audio or video, I can see the signal indicator jumping when the input is popping.
If anyone wants to test this, just go to a quiet room and record audio with the voice recorder, and watch for the pops.
Here's a video of the noise, but it does the same with the regular audio recorder. EDIT. I'm a noob and can't post links. Search on youtube for "ngwTBJ5ew08" for a sample video. Listen to the left channel.
BTW, this is not the headphone issue. This is recording and it is part of the recorded file. I.E., it has the same popping sounds consistently, at the same spots, on other devices.
Anyone else notice this? Is this just how it is? Should I exchange it? Thanks.

Issues with Audio Only Recording (not video/camera related)

Has anyone had issues recording audio on their pixel 2 xl? I typically use Evernote to record audio memos and they sound significantly quiet and muffled compared to the audio recorded with the camera app (recording video).
I downloaded a few other voice memo apps and having similiar issues, so curious if this is a general issue or isolated to my device only.
Thanks,
Mario
having the same issue with i. e. Whatsapp on my Pixel 2 XL. The recording seems to be a bit to quiet. I think it is some kind of Software issue since there is no issue on video recording.
I just tried the app Smart Recorder to record a voice message. On standard settings, it was too quiet as well. After I turn off the Auto Gain Control of the Pixel in the settings of this App and set Mic Gain Factor to 4,7x the voice has a decent volume level.

jep. bothering me on whatsapp, too, when doing voice messages. its something third party apps related i think, since video recording voice is loud enough.
need to get google aware of this, though.
Right! I initially thought the mic was bad, but video recording proves that the mic is just fine. So I'm inclined to agree that this has to be software related
