My god, it's RETARDED. Using KF1 here, rooted with Chainfire, and the bluetooth stack is being a pest. I was able to simulate the problem each time to make mediaserver go crazy. Here's how I did it:
1. Connect my LG HBS-700 stereo BT headset
2. Run the Google Music app (Account sync switched off)
3. Play music for a bit w/ Equalizer app switched on
4. Stop playing the music
5. Switch off bluetooth

See the blue text? This keeps appearing every 5 minutes until I switch bluetooth back on, unpair the headset, then it stops. Anyone have any clue? I already force closed the Music app and Equalizer app, but the process Mediaserver still goes crazy.

I charge my phone by my bedside every night and would like to combine charging it with a docking station with external speakers. Anyone have recommendations on one model in particular that works with our beast of a phone?

I've been using a Philips Fidelio AS351 for the past year or so, and it's been great.
The dock itself turns on when the phone is plugged in, and connects to the device via bluetooth. The best part is to be able to have an alarm go off, snooze it, pick up the device and have it still connected to play some music through it before you get out of bed. It doesn't turn off during the night randomly and I've never had an issue with the device not connecting or anything of the sort.
It sounds suprisingly well for a bluetooth speaker as well. That's my suggestion.

Hello
I have found that if I am streaming music or listening to audio book via my Sony BT headset (paired with no issues) I will then have issues with my WiFi connection...

if I then stop the audio streaming I then get this....
the difference in a stable and usable WiFi connection between streaming audio over BT has meant that I can now rarely do this due to the above issue.
I am on the stock 4.2.2 ROM but I have tried others with the same result.
Is this typical of using both the BT and Wi-Fi at the same time....?
Note that if I pause the streaming of audio it then seems to be ok for the WiFi in the short tests that I made.

Ok...so the picture above shows what im using, its just a cheap $5 y adapter from amazon...its worked fine in the past on my previous phones (samsung infuse and htc vivid) however when I play music through it on my s4 it cause "glitches" like artifacts from the lockscreen will pop up...status bar will "jitter" ...its hard to explain so check out the video for an example...just a few seconds long - there is no issue with headphones so im confused why this is happening...and it happens with all music players not just stock...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSBUkhol4Bg -wait while that processes
Any one have any ideas?
Any suggestions?
Any body have a y adapter they can try and replicate it with?
Should I return my device?
-Theres no issue using this adapter with my other phones
-headphones give no problems...and this essentialy should act the same as headphones...its just going to speakers instead

Device: AT&T Galaxy S4 i337.
Bluetooth headset: Platronics Voyager Legend
Rom: GoldenEye 28 (but this problem also occured on stock 4.2.2 TW)
Issue: Google Voice typing doesn't work with bluetooth headset.
When it's not connected to bluetooth, it works fine if I speak into the mic. When it IS connected to the bluetooth headset, it only works/recognize what I'm saying when I speak only into the phone's mic. The Bluetooh headset mic doesn't kick in during google voice typing. The headset works fine in Google Now or Google Voice search. Just the keyboard portion when I'm in other apps and trying to send off a text..
Any help would be appreciated...

The problem I am facing is that, once I get in the car, phone auto connect to to this dongle. However, once I hit play on Music/YouTube/Apple Music/Spotify, the phone will not play music (audio timeline does not move too)
I am not too sure what happened, but it will work perfectly if I disconnect manually and connect it again.
Any idea / recommendation?
Thanks.
I'm curious if you ever fixed this? This happens to me all the time, if I'm connecting to a car audio system that has separate voice and media Bluetooth devices. When I have this issue I have to to disconnect, play music over my phone speaker and push the volume up, then reconnect to my car. Bam. I've never been able to create a Tasker to fix this. Any ideas?
