Does anyone have this? Can you tell me where to find it?
Cheers
or hopefully they can bake this into a update for the OS in the future
I might just be overworked and underpaid but I swear the xoom had this feature before it bricked a few hours after I bought it.. if not I swear this is one of the best ideas.. kinda like how cm7 has the silent back-kill-app feature.

Could someone make a flashable zip to replace the silent option from the power button long press menu, to a quick boot shortcut. Silent option seems pretty useless since it is built into the notification menu in 2.2. Would do it myself except I don't know how. I'm sure this would be cake for the talent we got from our epic devs.
Using free version of quick boot but would upgrade if necessary

Is this not possible

I think this would be cool. My co-worker has a sprint hero and it had this option. He's running cyanogenmod froyo, btw.

It is posible but takes quite a bit of work. Devs have held off on doing it until official froyo because it has to be reworked from scratch each time a new version drops.
You can get this option on some of th 2.1 roms n themes.

Me and raiderep are the only 2 that have accomplished this. He has it for a stock on 2.1 and I have it in my 2.1 theme. theres a couple of xml files that have to be edited in the framework-res.apk. There also 3 .jar files to be edit and smali is a *****. There's a guid for another galaxy s phone that we follow but there's to many differences between the epic and that other phone. Now there is a huge difference between eclair and froyo. I'm personally waiting to we get an official froyo. I can't speak for raiderep

I'll echo what mystery said, its a tough mod and also hard to get right alongside other mods like the battery % one. I have been waiting for official froyo to play with it again like mystery is. I like the idea of switching what one of the other already existing options does as it might be easier than creating new ones....hmmm....might try that while I'm waiting like everyone else.

I don't use airplane mode. You could change that and troll some folks.
Does vol up+power+camera not quick boot 2.2??
I come from the Samsung Vibrant Dev area. A friend of mine has a Droid X and all he does is flash Roms, doesn't know much about them. His phone does a TV like on/off animation when the screen goes on and off. What is that? Where is it located/ implemented. any info on it would be great. As search is down right now i cant search it. I am interested in possible porting it.
The liberty tool box has a bunch of different startup animations to choose from, I'm not sure if the one your looking for is in it but it does have the option to add ones from your SD card. Its meant to run on the x with the liberty rom but if you can port it then it might be a good place to start.
Edit:ah just reread your post you're looking for when it goes to sleep, sorry don't know that one. Sounds cool I'll have to look out for it.

Unless his rom is built on 2.3 I don't think it is. Since that power off tv animation is part of 2.3 and 2.3 only good luck.
I think you might be right but I thought it was a feature he was planning on adding. I did some searching and did find that the ultimate Droid has the feature, here's the link...
http://www.theultimatedroid.com/forum/index.php?/files/file/68-the-ultimate-droid-300-beta/
Edit: and just because its a feature of 2.3 doesn't mean its impossible to port it.

they have really improved the power button on DHD over the Desire...Ive had my Desire button replaced already...because its not flushed and the design means that it protrudes a little out from the body slightly, feels flimsy after a few months...DHD feels much better, I think its because of the internal design...
to open screen you can use tap tap app and to close it use screen off app. in this way you can protect your power button.
Yea I used that tap tap app just brush ya finger over sensor on the top right hand corner and it works really like it personally

Hmm, I haven't used this before, but I'm liking the sound of it. There are quite a lot of apps that don't work yet on Gingerbread, I don't know of any alternatives, but it's likely the developer will eventually get an update out for Gingerbread devices
I have no problem with my power button being too flush. It works fine how it is
Hi I found 2 apps worth mentioning
1 AnyUnLock
2 ScreenOff
I use AnyLock my self to unlock the screen. Using Volum Up/Down buttons. Better than Power button I guess

Hey, i like AnyUnlock, but it seams to kill my security pattern, is there any program that lets you use the volume keys, AND makes you do your pattern?
Tap Tap App, is good, but it reduces power life
Is there anything else on the market?

Since this is going to be my first phone with on screen buttons which I consider a stupid idea I am wondering what can we go with this back bar embeded at the bottom of the screen, Can we make it smaller?, will it be removed in games? Can we add extra buttons or ever widgets to it? Maybe ever make it pages so when you swipe over it it will reveal a rss feed or something. Any ideas on what can be done to make it helpful rather than a hinderance

Once custom roms start rolling out you will be able to change the DPI of the bar.
AOKP i expect will support this feature as they do in current JB Roms
Why don't you like them? I think they're great.

But that's the beauty of Android. We can choose whether they're always shown or not.

How can I remap "recent apps" button to menu and remove those ugly three dots?
Googled and searched the forums for a bit and couldn't find anything specific to the n10. I honestly can't think of a time when I've ever used the recent apps button. I remember my hox phone had the same thing before, and I was able to use a mod somebody wrote to change the behavior. Any ideas? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Well, on stock & AOSP ROMs, the soft-keys on the navigation bar are configurable if you decompile and modify SystemUI.apk or if you build it with the changes from source... AOKP has the option of allowing you to choose and customise the soft-keys and their click and long-press actions...
Oops forgot, I'm on cm10.1 nightly builds ATM.

I hate to bump my own topic, but has nobody really done this? Can somebody explain how to modify button behavior and I can just do it myself, I guess?

What the rip?
You want to delete the "menu" button? I've never heard of doing such a dumb thing.
And you have NEVER used recent apps? That's plain crazy.
Swiped from my Nexus 10 using xda-developers app
I don't want to remove the menu button, I want to move it to where the recent apps button is now. Currently it's in a different place in every app. The recent apps button also can do precisely nothing that can't be done with the home button. I find the three dot menu button ugly and distracting, especially in apps which weren't designed with a lack of hardware menu button in mind. I don't think that's "dumb" at all. Does anybody have a helpful suggestion or am I doomed to trying to figure it out on my own?
