Hello,
i just found this for galaxys2:
http://www.mobilefun.de/29839-bizlink-galaxy-s2-hdmi-adapter-in-schwarz.htm
Do you know if such a device supports the HD2 as well? Of course we're talking about an androided HD2
Thanks!
No it doesn't. The hd2 has just a normal micro usb Port.

Is reading on the HTC homepage about HD2 specs.
I need one and was wondering about two things.
Does anyone know if standard microUSB means we can connect micro usb
stuff to the phone if we only have the right drivers?
I can think of two accessoars id would like to connect-
-USB handsfree from touch PRO
-some kind of TV out-cable
And there is one question about the digital compass.
will it be like the one that is on the marked now, were you dont have to
have GPS connected?
ps. when will HD get an own section on XDA? after all it is official and all now, and would be better to know were to post this kind of questions. ds.

Straight up, before we even start talking about drivers, there's no way you would be able to phsically connect accessories from the Touch Pro to the HD2 as the Touch Pro is miniUSB and the HD2 microUSB.

Er, I don't quite understand. What do you mean 'like the one that is on the marked now'?
But I can tell you this, a digital compass has nothing at all to do with GPS. The two are completely different.

Just didnt want to say:
Like the one in iPhone 3Gs, but you got my point anyway so thanks for the answer!
We have a magnet on TouchHD, why not a compass?
Hi,
Hats off to all the senior friends who are making lives easy for so many of us
I have a very simple question. The stylus which the company gives with the Touch HD is a magnet. Why can't we have a digital compass using it?
Hope it makes sense
Is it possible to connect an htc hd2 to a tv?
not at present, no.
it is possible for other HTC devices however the usb on te hd2 is different (much smaller) thats why you cant.
got to wait until they release a new plugin cable for it I am sure it wont be long as I am to waitng for something like this
I've been searching but I haven't been able to find an answer...does the hd2 support USB host while running android? Hello,
Is there a chance to have USB host on HD2 under android builds ?
If not can we know what is the main problem ?
Android is based on a linux kernel isn't it ?
So, if USB host is supported under linux builds, why is it impossible on android ?
Thanks to teatch me !
I don't think android in general allows USB host on any device... that's the problem. The linux kernel supports it, but android doesn't. If you use ubuntu you can have usb host on the HD2.
Actually, the Notion Ink Adam runs Android and has USB host mode. With a bit of kernel hackery, this could well be possible on the HD2.
Using a USB Y-cable and providing external power, it should be possible to connect all sorts of things. I'm patiently waiting for this capability as I have a USB SSD HDD that I connect to my car's head unit that I'd like to connect to my phone when I'm at work

You're right, I have seen other android tablets with usb host, too. I remember seeing the devs explain somewhere why android on the hd2 doesn't have usb host... I thought I remember it sounding like it wouldn't be able to happen until a later version of android... but I could be wrong or misunderstood. I'll try to find where I read this.

Hi.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10797562
It's an easy way to use the USB connector in host mode, works under ubuntu.
with some adaptors you can build it also by using an y- cable.
But I think android for HD2 doesn't support anny usb features until now, perhaps someone will activate it in the kernel.

Yes, most of us are aware that host mode is usable whilst running Ubuntu. The problem is that Ubuntu is not really convenient as a main phone OS; Android is and some devices seem to have host mode while running Android.
Hopefully one of the devs will see this thread and give some insight.
I have a leo, running win mo 6.5 and a couple of flavors for android, my question is, is it possible to use the usb port to view a camera, I found a usb to rca cable which I could plug into the camera and phone, but I dont know of any software that would allow me to view it or if the phone would even handle it. The purpose of this would be to focus and aim video camera's as I install them, I looked through the forums and I didnt see anything that jumped out at me about this.
thanks again

highly unlikely
Agreed. Highly unlikely, but not impossible. It has been proven that the USB connector on the HD2 can be used as a USB Host under Ubuntu, but I am unsure if it has been tryed under Android or WinMo.

The Powermat I have is compatible with the European/Asian HD2, but not the US T-Mobile HD2. The slightly larger size of the T-Mobile version does not seem to allow the pins to connect correctly. Which version of the HD2 are you using? As far as I know, since it is a hardware charging solution it should not matter which OS you are using.
im on a uk (o2) hd2 and im runing hd20 rom i got a extended battery and it did not charge so befor a burt the powermat i was just cheking thanks
