Came home with 4.010.11 ota notification waiting for me. This is an update from 1.141.07 which I manually updated from 1.104. 02 weeks ago which I got from vache's ota thread in the dev section. Personally Tested this over 4.010.08 and 1.104.02 with factory recovery with sucsess. Others have tested it over custom roms as well.
I posted this for those with some modding know how and are impatient or for some reason not getting any acer updates. Use at your own risk and please do research on how to perform the update. It looks like many are getting the update today so give it a few days before bypassing the ota and using the above link.
If this helps you out please hit the thanks button on my post.
Have fun modding my Iconia brothers.

I just installed it over 4.010.08 on my other tab after decrypting and puting the update zip on my ext sd card and it went through on the factory acer recovery. Now reads 4.010.11_com_gen2
If my assumptions are correct this is a complete rom designed to go over anything you have and correct the build issues that others had experienced in 4.010.08 not allowing them to install.
Just restored to 1.104.02 then directly to 4.010.11 sucseffuly. This is a complete Rom.

I did some searches and read some threads, I've gathered understanding of my situation with OTA updates and why I wasn't seeing any come through. I was hoping someone would confirm my train of thought.
I updated from the leaked update.zip to 3.2 build 3.019.04_COM_GEN1
Because of that, I wouldn't get an OTA update.
I just downloaded and ran the update.zip and am on 4.010.11_COM_GEN2 Bryan posted
Everything seems fine and work.
...but, I can expect not to get OTA updates because I deviated from the OTA updates, and in a sense loaded a custom rom. That is unless I flash back to factory and reupdate?
Can someone just confirm that for me? I'm ok with downloading update.zip files, I'm kinda hands on anyways.
I just bought my Iconia A500 and it still has Acer_500_1.104.02_COM_GEN1...
How do I manually update? I tried updating to 1.141.07 like yours and nothing happened... Help?

I am not 100% sure as I have never used a custom rom but I did recieve the ota after doing a manual update to 1.141.07 as an update.zip.
Glad the rom worked for you. I just installed it over 4.010.08 on my other tab after decrypting and puting the update zip on my ext sd card and it went through on the factory acer recovery. Now reads 4.010.11_com_gen2

Are you on 1.141.07 now? You have to download the file then decrypt it with the acer update decrypter. once its doen you extract the zip till you see the file that says update.zip , you put this file on the root of your ext sd card. put the micro sd (ext sd) card back into the tab and restart in the factory recovery by holding VOL- and Power at the same time till you see some white words come up in the corner of the screen. Let go of the buttons and let it complete.
I recomend you make backups of your stock image prior to updating and do your own research of the process thoroughly before continuing.
Good Luck my Iconia Brothers...

I'm on 1.104.02 right now. I ran the decrypter for 1.141.07 and put the update.zip on the root of the sdcard and into my a500 and powered on with volume key. Update came up and loaded halfway and then the progress bar went away and and exclamation point with the android guy came up and it just sat there with not progress bar. I held the power button and restarted. Went into settings to check the version and it stayed at 1.104.02...
Is the file you are using the 1.104.02 to 1.141.07? If not it won't work.
Try going straght to the 4.010.11 update. Use the same decrypt program and be sure you are putting the correct output file then extracted to get "update.zip" then put it on your ext micro sd Card directly not in another folder.

CONFIRMED! Coming from 1.141.07, running the update.zip from 4.010.11 works! 3.1 baby! Had this thing a day and it's been driving me crazy not being up to date! I'm here though!

Do not just open the decrypted file you have to unzip it first then take the update.zip file over to your external SD card. I just restarted mine to 1. 104. 02 and installed the update zip file directly through factory recovery so I can confirm this is a complete Rom and works on top of most builds.

Is this file tied to an IMEI? Or is the update file for any phone?
unfortunate
We don't know yet if its IMEI or sig checking I think I read that it is running checks against sigs. Also I think they only used imei to push the OTA to the phones not to lock that particular update to that particular phone

Sorry for the newbie question, but how do I use this update?
rename the zip to update.zip and put it in the root directory of your sd card, then boot into recovery and load it. If it fails the check you may need to reflash the original sbf first.
what do you mean rename the zip? are you referring to the file name or are you referring to a specific file? and also do we need to extract the file?
In the accompanying message it said something along the lines of 'who can use this uppate/ any atrix.'

need help. did alll the steps corectly, then it says finding update package, opening update package, verifying update package, failed to read footer from /sdcard/update.zip (is a directory) signature verification failed, installation aborted. am i doing something wrong?
Has anyone tried putting the update file into their cache along with the ctc or cbc (don't remember what the file ext is) and tried hitting the update button in the phone to see if it recgonizes the update as though it actually came OTA?

As far as copying to the cache goes, I did not try that but renaming to update.zip and updating through recovery worked fine after I re-flashed to the stock sbf. It took a little bit longer to go through the initial boot process after the update than it did flashing an sbf file, but seems to be smoother overall so far, I only have about an hour on it though.

I've renamed the file to update.zip and have put it into the sdcard directory and then rebooted but have not noticed anything updating. I've also tried sdcard-ext directory. Can you explain a little as how you got this file to work? I am not rooted, and have not done any mods so I am on the original sbf.

When you reboot your phone hold the volume down button until you see the Fastboot text at the top of the phone, then hit the volume down button until you see it say Android Recovery, hit the volume up key to load into recovery, once you see the android guy and the triangle tap the lower right portion of the screen, from there you will have the recovery menu, at this point you can use volume up/down to select and then tap the ok at the bottom left

I'm thinking Moto is watching this forum very carefully to gauge the success of their root access lock-down efforts (I know I would). The only counter an open forum like this has is to delay posting of any new root access methods until after Moto's offical release of the ATRIX Update software. Time is on our side, not Moto's - their release process is long and expensive with little return in $$$. I know that devs are just starting to look at this, and a new root method is wishful thinking at this point, but just had to throw in my 2 cents.
Ok i've searched the forums and am getting more and more confused. I have gingerblur 3.1 installed currently and would like to do the ATT ota update. I'm assuming I may have to go back to Stock 1.8.3 and do an OTA update. But can someone please confirm. Any instructions would help as well. Thanks
The directions I seem to need are...
Un gingerblur
Un root
As an aside, I got notified of the ota and it failed.

Make sure your battery is fully charged so that you don't run out of power during the upgrade process.
To install the upgrade:
Copy the file to the SD Card
Your phone is on the latest Android 2.2 software (Blur_Version.4.1.83.MB860.ATT.en.US)
From the home screen, press Menu, select Settings,
Scroll down and select About Phone.
Select System upgrades.
After a couple of minutes, your device will confirm the upgrade is available.
The Copy prompt will appear. Select “Copy”
The Install upgrade prompt will appear. Select Install Now.
Your device will power off and display installation progress.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Please ensure you are aware of the following information after the installation of the package
It will then power up and stay on the carrier logo for up to 5 minutes before powering on to the home screen.
Please do not interrupt this process.
Contacts and email from Google and MOTOBLUR may take up to 60 minutes to synchronize. The phone may appear slower during this initial synchronization process

i tried to install the OTA update, it failed... tried to install it manually and it didn't work either. i tried to install it using android recovery and it didn't work.

side note,
can any one of you please provide the full name of your system version? mine says "Version.4.1.83.MB860.ATT.en.US ", thing is, I tried to flash a stock sbf to roll back to motoblur, RSDlite fails every time with a message "sec_exception febe 35 35", my phone isn't recognized as 'NS Flash Olympus', it shows 'SE Flash Olympus'.
is there a thread to fix this issue?
thanks!
I figured out how to do it. First I unlocked the bootloader and then followed the directions on here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163342
Worked fine
You need to flash back to stock, i.e. flash 4.1.26 or 4.1.57 or 4.1.83. OTA update to 4.1.83 if you are on an earlier version. The update will not work if you are modded in any way. You need to be on stock 4.1.83.
My god, how many times does this have to be said!!!
So let's just say that you are a moron (like me) and just did the OTA over Gingerblur 4.5 and now you have the exclamation point triangle and android on your screen and it does do anything... is it safe to battery pull? or did I just brick my phone?
EDIT: nevermind...
Is there any guide how to flash back?...

settings/about/upgrade
let it run
followed instructions to the letter from Motorola

This is US only, is it not?
I think so, but not 100% sure.
i was the last to get the first OTA, and looks like now one of the first to get this one. dont really care yet.
I got it. I used Clockwork to do a reboot and everything is back to normal.

hay guys I found this file over at My Droid Life and if you have CWR all you have you do is unzip and put the file in your CWR backup folder and restore. I have confirmed that it will not delete any of your apps or folders it just gives you honeycomb 3.2. ok, it wont let me upload the file but you can find it here, follow the instructions at the bottom. if you already have CWR just unzip and restore.
http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...-update-your-3g-xoom-3-2-directions-file.html
So we can use the first file and restore from cwm? Of course I assume use the third paragraph.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
yeah the third paragraph, just download the update zip, extract it, put it in CWR backup and restore. It looks like I may be having some issues with sd card support, it shows up under storage but apps that use the sd card do not show it.
Then I'm gonna wait and see if anyone else has issues first.

If you did did the GPS Fix (assuming you're on stock BML EI22), then you will need to replace the system/vendor/bin/gpsd file or else you will get an Error Status 7 when you try to do the update. You can extract the file from the EI22.zip (If someone can post the file and host it, even better).
I haven't tested the GPS after updating so I don't know if the new gpsd file fixes anything or reverts things back to what they were (ie locking on only 3 or 4 sats). If it has reverted it back, then you will probably have to re-run the GPS Fix again.
i got an error "verifying the script(?)" i forgot the complete error message when i tried to install it from stock ei22 and stock recovery.
Do you think it has to do with the fact that I downloaded within the phone's webbrowser, and renamed it in ES explorer within the phone?
I have trouble mounting my phone to my computer, so i either have to download files to my phone directly from within its own webbrowser, or take the sd card out and mount that seperatly.
@qbking77: you don't need to rename the update file to update.zip since the GB roms the stock reccovery allows you to choose what zip to use.
For me I copied both updates to my card as update.zip, EI22 and update-EL30.zip then I:
1- ODIN'd to EC05
2- shutdown
3- 3 finger salute
4- flashed update.zip (EI22)
5- shutdown
6- 3 finger salute
7- flashed update-EL30.zip
After that I:
A- copied the su.zip that removes the reinstall of stock recovery,
B- ODIN'd cwm 3 but unchecked reboot.
C- pulled battery
D- 3 finger salute
E- flashed the aboved mentioned su.zip
F- flashed cwm5
G- rebooted
That left me with a stock kernel with root and custom recovery. Made a NANDROID and have been tinkering with it.
Right now I'm tring to get CRT-OFF to work.

I have the ACS Recovery V1.0.0.5 CWM4 based.

No update from Sprint will ever work on a rooted phone.

thanks for the post qbking. So seems like no real reason to update if you arnt using a stock rom?

Even if you're using a stock rom I don't see much benefit in upgrading. GPS was still broken for me and they changed/removed things I liked in the older stock roms (ie: incoming call screen, the alarm screen [took me a while to figure out how to snooze this morning which meant I got to work on time ;-)], the scrolling wallpaper). All minor things but I didn't have any issues with EI22 so...
What's that EI29 build you have in your downloads folder, qbking77?

INFO: Rooted Version of NB4, I was on 4.4.2 Kit Kat leaked. I reverted to MJ5 from the leaked version then updated to NB4 and rooted with kingo.
Thanks to...

UPDATE: 3/30/14
The same method has been confirmed by @Budrweber but instead of using adb, just flash from your ext sd card.
NOTE: ADB SIDELOAD WILL NOT CAUSE A WIPE, BUT PUSHING THE UPDATE FROM EXTERNAL SD WILL WIPE ALL DATA.
Few users have reported unrooting on NB4 after changing files and downloading the OTA and updating normally.
USB DEBUGGING MUST BE ENABLED, if you are this far there is no need for me to explain how to turn it on. If your phone is unresponsive to your computer even though you have installed, re-install via Kies 3. Turn Kies 3 off before running ADB.
First of all, you are going to need an ADB Sideloader and it can be found here.
Install to directory C:\Mini-SDK
We'll come back to ADB later.
Now you're going to need the update file found here.
Rename the file to update. (DO NOT NAME UPDATE.ZIP, JUST "UPDATE".)
Place "UPDATE" into the same directory as your ADB C:\Mini-SDK
Now lets leave ADB and the Update file alone and start replacing the files on your phone!
You'll need the following files.
system/xbin/dexdump (if deleted you can find the file here or you can copy/paste & replace)
system/csc/feature.xml (If deleted find it here.
Delete the original "feature.xml" and rename "feature.xml.bak" to "feature.xml")
Download the fix.zip from this page.
You do not have to reset permissions, I did not how ever do as you feel and works for you.
Step 1 copy the mobicore-presetup.sh to /system/bin
Step 2 copy all the APK files to /system/app.
Now navigate to system/bin
You should have a "ddexe" file, if it is named "ddexe_real", rename it to 'ddexe".
This should fix all the known errors in the process of adb side loading.
If you continue to get more errors use the file dump located here.
UPDATE: app_process is another recurring error, please grab this file from the dump uploaded from @smokeystack76
Now to the fun and most anticipated part of the day...
Volume + button up, power and home button all at the same time. Release once you see Recovery mode.
Navigate to Update from ADB.
Plug up to USB.
Now, when you start windows cmd prompt, you can either start from the ADB folder is located in by control, shift + right clicking or manual cmd.exe in "run" or "search"
Once command prompt is loaded,
Type in the following command.
"CD /D C:/MINI-SDK"
Then if you are in the right directory and you placed the "update" file accordingly... type...
ADB SIDELOAD UPDATE.ZIP(the file name should not have .zip or you will get a "can not read" message.)
and now you should be on your way to 4.4.2 Kit Kat.
Not bad. The system dump is here.
Now you need to post links to this thread in the other thread
Thanks for the step by step. I'll try this tomorrow.
You were on a rooted NB4, correct? You restored to MJ5, updated to NB4, rooted, and then did this?

Correct.
For anyone trying to find an easy way around this whole update mess. Just go to your local best buy store and talk to one of the Samsung reps. They don't have the kit kat update yet but however they can reflash 4.3 on your phone wiping out all your data (make sure you do a back up from home) and this will let you get the OTA update with no problems. My note 3 has been rooted twice one being last night and it worked. Just make sure your not rooted when you take your phone.

is this one use the official 4.4.2 or the leak?
Has anyone tried doing an emergency restore (or whatever it's called) through kies first then trying to get the OTA to work without failing?
It seems like it's 50/50 on who's works and who's fails. Am I right?

So did you root with Kingo too when you were on NB4? I didn't want to use Kingo, but I thought what the heck, and used it for quick rooting. Then after the Kitkat update, I realize I have SuperSU as a system app even after factory reset. Apps like CPU-Z reports my devices is rooted when it's not.
Is this the only thing that's not same as pure stock NC2?

you can re-run and use kingo to remove the root
Also if you are weary of the update, back up your files and apps then factory reset. Once you are factory reset, download the OTA but just hit "remind me later".
Do the instructions in the OP and after it installs it tells you that you have an update pending, install the update and it covers any files that may have went missing in the update.zip.
If you wanted to be 200% sure.
I am set at official and with no custom lock and Knox is 0x0.
