On Nook Color Tweaks, I can only tweak the audio settings. The book and CPU settings don't work. When I try to overclock with nook tweaks, it tells me that "Kernel is not compatible with CPU settings. A newer build of Dalingrin's overclock kernel is required".
I'm running the CM7.1.0 RC1 encore with 2.6.32.9 erick at myhost #87 kernel.
Sorry for the ultra noob question, but please help.
Thank youl.
I don't think you are running dalingrins newest kernal. I'm pretty sure it is not the default kernal for RC1.
Sure for dalingrin and download and flash his 6-30-2011 kernel for the nook.

I'm not sure if that's the right kernal michael.
Might need to get the one before that. If I remember correctly, the rc-1 came out before he adjusted the kernal for the more recent nightlies.
2.6.32.9 seems to be the Dalingrin's OC 063001 kernel, at least on my NC.
Suggestion: it won't hurt if you re-install just the kernel (060301)
I'm running cm 7.0.3.-encore from a sandisk class 4 16 gb card. I've tried updating rom with rom manager to 7.1.0-RC1. Rom manager reboots into recovery mode but never updates the rom. I also dl'ed the 6/30/11 dalingrin oc kernal, put it on the sd boot, and reboot but nothing is updated. Therefore I'm unable to update or overclock the Nook.
Re: my earlier problem, I was eventually able to flash 7.1.0-RC1, install a newer kernal with oc capabilities and oc my Nook. However, I had so many problems with disappearing icons, lockups, etc. that I went back to 7.0.3.-encore. It is much more stable, if a little slower, on my setup.

My vote would be for CM7 and the OC kernel. I played around with a bunch of the options and have settled on this as my base.
But it's so easy to try different things I would have to suggest that you try anything that catches your fancy, once you have a good backup of the current base configuration.

(both the stable and nightly builds can be found at that link)
and the OC kernels here:

The nightly experimental builds are just that, experimental. They may blow up, or not work properly with certain apps, or conflict with the OC kernel. The stable builds are the "officially supported" builds.
What I currently have is a stable 7.02 configuration running with the 4-24 OC kernel and a bunch of installed apps that all work right in this setup. I back it up to my SD card using the"Backup Current ROM" option in ROM Manager (I bought the premium version).
If I update to a nightly I can always go back to that backup if I screw something up. I've only screwed it up that badly once so far

I have everything set up and working correctly (yayayayay!).....but im haveing trouble loading a kernel. Apparently i need an updated CWM on my sd card since i have 3.0.0.5, which is super outdated i think. The 4/24 kernel dowloads and install correctly, but it doesnt affect anything and i can still only OC to 925 through CM7 settings. Soooo im trying to look for the newest CWM so i can dowload and put it on my SD card

You should be able to flash the current version of CWM from the ROM Manager application.
Hey guys,
I'm sure this has been addressed SOMEWHERE, but my searches didn't turn up anything (or anything I could decipher, anyway). (0: Where can I find an OC kernel for CM7 emmc 7.0.3?
The new Dalingrin CM7 kernels don't work for 7.0.3, and Idk what date under his kernel listings correspond to the 7.0.3 version. Thanks for all help!

This is the latest ext4 OC Kernel for 7.0.3 Stable
http://www.mediafire.com/?73i9oa5lpghls6i
You Really should consider moving over to the latest nightly! So many more options in Overclocking and running Dal's new tweaks app for cpu ramping and audio management. And so many more advances
What is everyone using? Seems like CM7 is 90% what people are using based on the posts.
Dammit...the last one is supposed to be stock but I can't edit the poll now...
Cm7 baby! Works great.

CM7 from a 16G SD card here!
Tried them all...for me..I am using build 64 of cm and 1.3 kernel from a few months back. Honeycomb was to damn small even with LCD adjust..to slow and not all programs would run.
Cm7 nightlys with the overclock kernel. Honeycomb looked good, but was a little to slow.

CM7 nightly 121....Dal's oc 0618.....on emmc ....SWEET COMBO!!
I say the best setup is Cm7 latest nightly with OC kernel and then dual boot NC 1.2 Rooted Stock.
Useing Phiremod 6.3! Which is a themed Cm7 7.0.3, with dal's 1.3ghz overclock
Might switch to the nightlies though, I wanna try dal's nook tweaks but it doesn't work with my nookie. It also doesn't have usb host support, and for some reason bluetooth no work
CM7 latest nightly with dalingren's kernel off of a 8gb sandisk Had it for a week and it's amazingly smooth and looks awesome!
Been playing with CM7 on an 8GB class 4 Sandisk for a few days now. The more I play with it, the more I like it. I'm starting to consider flipping this around - put stock on an SD and flash CM7 to the emmc...
CM7.1 RC1 with dalingrin's 063011 kernel. It's amazing.
BTW: you've got two options for Rooted Stock.

I've been playing with that one on SD and am liking it more and more. ANd, yeah, I know about the two options for Rooted Stock but I can't figure out how to edit the poll. If you know how, pass it on please.
Go CM7!!! Seriously great work on that, everyone. I've moved it from sd to emmc since it's gotten so stable and the sleep issues were cleared up (also I seemed to be having issues with the sd card). I couldn't imagine going back now.
Sporting a fresh install of CM7.1 RC1 with OC, IMEI patch, Chainfire3d.
I love everything this thing can do and the battery life is awesome!!
Does phiremod miui v2 has included Dalingrin's OC kernel ? Can I use "Nook Color Tweaks" instead of "SetCPU" ?
nobody knows ? So please redirect my question to phiremod thread. I can't because this is my second post.
up
maybe nobody use new phiremod miui rom so I ask difrent:
Is "MiUI Nook Color 1.8.5" build on nighly with Dalingrin's OC kernel or I need myself flash Dalingrin's OC kernel over miui 1.8.5 rom to use nook color tweaks app ?
Once again admin please redirect my question to phiremod or miui threat, or give me privilages to ask there.

I used phiremod to put MIUI on my Nook after having some issues with the regular install process. All works really well, excellent phiremod with the right tweaks and apps preinstalled. I think it even came with Gapps, although it could have been that I had it on my SD card when i flashed the mod.
Nook tweaks works right off the bat, so no need to custom install any kernels.
MIUI also gives you access to 1200mhz processing power without need to tweak anything. I did get the CPU speed app (or something similar, forgot the name) to power down if i need to save battery life, or give it a boost when showing off Im getting really good battery life with this mod, I can easily leave the tablet lying around for a week and still have battery life left when i need it.
Runs really stable, just make sure to backup when installing things like Nook Tweaks or Chainfire 3D, as these apps sometimes mess with the mod. i.e. after installing Chainfire3D some of the icons of my apps disappeared on the homescreen being replaced with the generic app icon, not a big issue but annoying. Removing the apps from the homescreen and then putting them back seems to fix that
Hi all,
I am loving my 2 NC. Both are 1.4.1 and have been manual nooted using the latest 5.0.1.21 package. I'd like to oc them and I'm confused how to get the latest Dalingrin kernel. I assume the latest kernel was release 09/01/11. This thread indicates the latest kernel is now delivered with CM7. Ok, I use that when I dual boot into CM7, but not running Nooted.
Where do I get the kernel? Do I need to strip it from CM7?
All of Dalingrin's kernels are listed here, however the 090111 directory contains files with reference to 1.2. I've been lead to believe his latest NC kernel was made for 1.3. Are those the correct kernels for a nooted NC running 1.4.1?
If not, where do I get the 1.3 kernel which supports Nook Color Tweaks?

Just use the kernel from the 090111 folder. If you look in the Dalingrin kernel thread, LINK, under updates you will see that on 9/01/11 he updated to 1.3 source code. The kernel code between 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.1 did not change a whole lot. Between the 1.3 and 1.4.1 kernel code, only 1 file changed that applies to use, so it really is not a big deal to use that file on 1.4.1. Nook Color Tweaks works just fine on 1.4.1 with that file.

From the link you provided, as you can see, one for "emmc" and one for "sdcard", just make sure you take the correct version.
