(I hope this is the right section, but if it isn't, would a mod please move it to the right place?)
So a while back, I found a transparent version of the Genie weather widget (standard google weather widget). I was wondering if the same modification would be possible to the springpad application, specifically the small widget (there's three different sizes). It's very useful and all, but the blue color scheme is just obnoxious. I was wondering if someone would be able to make and/or upload a modified version of the springpad small widget so the background would be transparent.

you need to get the resource or drawable that is the background of the widget (use apktool and other tools to decompile) then modify it so that it is transparent in photoshop or some other image editor. then save it and recompile with apktool or other tool.

Wait, what? Sorry. I have no experience whatsoever in these matters. My knowledge of android is limited to flashing roms and apps.
That's why I'm requesting that someone do it for me. Because I guarantee 100% I'll screw it up, if I can even get it to work.

wait, what? you are one person that wants a specific thing done to a specific product and you want someone to do it for you... really? its not that hard. just time. try it. all you need is some command line action and some photo editing.

Again, nothing you said in your first post makes any sense to me.
There's a reason it's called a REQUEST.

To verify this is not an application, just an idea. I was hoping somebody would care to maybe have a go at creating an application like this that opens up a menu which displays programs, settings etc.
The program would scroll using kinetic scrolling and would basicallay be used as a start menu to open shortcuts to start menu applications.
I attach 2 screenshots of possible ideas.
So what you guys think?

You can find something like this in Mobile Shell 2 (TWO), in MY MENU you can add anything you want. Assign My Menu to a soft key and you should be good.
Sure, a standalone software would be better...
Lol. Someone thought of this before you, too bad it was/isn't completed. TouchXperience. [Link]

i really like this idea,
however, i'm sure there's a few apps very similiar too this flying around,
maybe you could create a skin for one of them?
Nice system font, (teh one on the softkeys) what is it? I wish to use it on me phone.
There is something similar...
FingerPoint would work if you could skin it more...maybe even QuickMenu if it could be made large enough to cover the whole screen. There was another old one that I can't remember.

The font in the screen shot is Segoe UI

Hey all,
I'm sure several of us are running ROMs which offer the vanilla lockscreen like below:

Above, we can see the icon represents the 'silent' function.
However, I have seen other lockscreens whereby the icon on the right hand side has been changed to someting else, for example: Vibrate Only [which is what I'm after], or launch Music Player, etc.
Anyone know how it's done?
I've been searching for that too, to change the silent button into vibrate but I haven't found anything yet
I hope someone can help us to change that
I think widgetlocker can do that
I'd rather change it without using another app, like changing something in the lockscreen code
I think it has to be changed in the android.policy.jar file since the fix for the lockscreen is coded inthere , but I don't know where and what I would have to change since I don't know much about the android coding

Sorry to disappoint, I found that screen in either one of these threads, both are a 'post your homescreen' type thread:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=665991&page=152
I can't remember which page, sorry. But it will have been in the most recent 15 pages of either thread.
so, i have found from where the screenshot came from.
It's from a member who runs a Froyd Villain rom on his hero and the rom is android 2.2
Now, turns out that in android 2.2 this is default the sliding to vibrate instead of silent (tested it out on the android emulator)
I have downloaded a 2.2 rom version and now I will try to find the differences between the 2.1 an 2.2 lockscreen files and hope I will be able to change it
^ thats pretty good going, nice one! I didn't know it was standard in Android 2.2.
Guys i am trying to add Background Wallpaper on Home screen! No luck atm..
Anyone want's to suggest anything?????
My idea is very basic and easy though, it's like adding a Desktop wallpaper on you Windows XP/Vista/7 via the registry method!
which basically is string -> c:\documents\blablabla\customimage.jpg
On windows phone more probably would be like this
I got the tweak base that you make the black background to silver and added this path but nothing!
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Themes\1]
"ChromeColor" value= documents\blablabla\customimage.jpg
What is the value though???? String?? value?? dword maybe???
I will try to create one on PC and deploy it to my phone and see...hmmm!!!
Tell me your thoughts!
*snip* MY REGISTRY EDITOR DOESN'T OPEN ANYMORE....LESSON..DON'T MESS WITH THE REGISTRY! LOL! WILL TRY TO INSTALL IT AGAIN WHEN I GO HOME!
MOD EDIT: Profanity removed...please mind the language

Reason why it doesn't work is cause it's most likely relocked itself. Unlock it again and it should work....
It's covered in tiles, what would be the point?

The point is tha MS disables Background wallpapers and i want to enable them because i want to and it's nice i guess!
".....We’re not so sure on this one. Some of the text labels are different from what we saw at the MWC unveiling, and Microsoft seemed to indicate that background wallpapers, as seen here, would probably not be allowed...."

Hi
I tried editing the lockscreen png files to get something similar to the honeycomb lockscreen. It involves replacing the jog_ png with blank ones. But a couple of things get ruined. The screenshots describe them better. I have no clue how to fix them. Could someone please assist?

How do I get rid of the right jog bar and the green and red button?
Unless your trying to make a mod for everyone I suggest using widget locker you can mod the buttons and much much more if you want to make a mod for everyone let me know I will see of I can help

you replace em with same image but (a transparent one )
as you got rid of the 1.st one you should be able to remove the other one

I know, thanks. But I wouldn't have posted the problem here if i was able to figure it out. The thing is, all of the ones are indeed properly replaced with transparent ones. But the old one crops up in the answering screen! So I guess its using a different image from the phone.apk
you are going way too advanced...i have no idea either...im not theming anymore too
well if you use widget locker and just go to xda and search widget locker themes then there a lot of honeycomb themes you can apply to widget locker you can even make your own theme for widget locker its eazy just take the zip file from existing theme and unzip and mod the existing png files

I can do light themeing myself, but the problem is that I don't where on earth is this PIN code thing, i know it is some where in Framework-res as Samsung dont use any sepreate app for Lockscreen. But i looked for all png file and it is defiantly not a image file. It is a xml or buried in a code somewhere. And this is too much for a noob. So i need help of developer or a theme to point in right direction.
I don't understand that no one ever moded the pin thing on an Android, quite strange
