Xperia ARC us firmware 3.0.a.2.30 Sonystyle - Xperia Arc General

I called the xperia helpline today and they indicated that the US firmware version that comes on the xperia arc that sony style is selling is 3.0.a.2.30. Can anyone post this firmware? They started shipping this week to customers.

There's already an Arc section, you know?
Anyway, good for british future Arc buyers. Only at hands we'll see if this new phone is as good as SE and fans say.
Question: How much Arc will cost?

Xperia S available in Australia

THIS IS FOR PREORDER
Hi Guys,
So you can order the S on this Aussie site -
http://www.mobicity.com.au/sony-xperia-s.html#tabContainer
It says the phone comes with android 2.3, can thius be upgraded to ICS?
Is there anyword how long it will take to get an upgrade for this.
I really would have thought that it would have come out with ICS pre installed as it is a new phone???

Thanks I updated the post, do you have any idea on the upgrade question????
There's other threads on when ICS comes to Xperia elsewhere. The Arc S and a few others get it around the end of April, so I imagine the new S will be the same. My 'plain' Arc has to wait until May
Are you kidding?
729 AU $ that's about 590 € and here you can pre-order it for 450 €.
And btw, the Xperia S should get the update in June.

Ok thanks, I know its expensive, but thats about what I paid for my Arc, its kinda the only place you can get new phones here in Oz, not branded, or locked. If anyone else knows of somewhere cheaper, Im open to suggestions!
I would pay this, sell my Arc on ebay for about 300/400 and make up the extra to get it otherwise.......
no one can confirm its price yet as it hasn't been released anywhere yet. So we cant say if thats an expensive price or not.
sellers just put it on their websites for pre-order to attract customers.
it will first be released in Japan on the 24th of this month and on pre-order tomorrow in japan
so we might get a price to compare world wide
you can get the japanese version and have it officially unlocked by ntt docomo.
good luck on whatever you decide to do

4.2.2 o2 UK just released!

Anyone on o2 pay monthly, the 4.2.2 update for the C6603.
Active Customization in Service Menu is 1270-4993_R8A. UK Unbranded, check your Xperia Z, you might be in luck! Before anyone asks I don't know how to make a FTF so I'm sorry to say I won't be able to accommodate those who want it.

No random o2 apps, just the ones you had installed before the update, neither adds or removes any apps.

In which case, why did it take them so many more weeks than anyone else to release it?
I have a sim free Xperia Z and recently changed from orange to Virgin sim only account. I did previously upgrade my device to 4.2 using Taiwan firmware and today it's just requested to upgrade again. Same version 4.2 but hoping UK instead of Taiwan (not that it'll make much difference)
Anyway I can check?

o2 are generally slow with updates.
So this is on o2 pay monthly branded devices you mean?
As I am on o2 pay monthly but it's sim free & still no update - I'm confused now, I don't even know what the difference is anymore ha! :silly:

So then you don't have an o2 pay monthly branded device, you have a sim free UK unbranded device, check your customization number in the service menu. Open the dialler and type in *#*#7378423#*#* then look for the customization info. Your device isn't an o2 device, it's an unbranded UK variant of the C6603 model.

Yeah I realise it is a different customization number, was just a bit thrown off when you said o2 pay monthly
Strange really lol. Thanks though, maybe unbranded will follow next!
Well I was on a UK unbranded phone, updated it to Vodafone last update via flashtool. Just checked it OTA and the update is there for me.

That's because your customization number is Vodafone UK so you get the updates when Vodafone release them.
Typical, I flashed the Spanish version yesterday! How do I get back to the UK version?
Question. I'm assuming us unbranded UK Z owners are going straight to 4:2.2 from 434. Will we have white balance from 253 and the modifications with the colour balance?

You can just flash the latest version. All versions from. 434 contain the white balance.

Yes you'll have the white balance and all the previous updates. .434 will go straight to 4.2.2.

What gave you that idea? The O2 update only released yesterday so I reckon now that all UK carrier customisations released we should get the unbranded update any time now.

Not necessarily. Look at 'Generic US' (C6602): no carrier customizations and still on 10.1.A.1.434.
Also, 'Generic UK' is probably being sold in Ireland too, since a 'Generic IE' customization does not exist.

Different model number though - my theory, they create the unbranded UK update first, then give it to the carriers, release the carrier updates then they can release the UK unbranded update.
US unbranded update may not even be ready yet, where as we know that the UK update must be ready as it has been customised and released for the carriers

Xperia Z new llow price

Hi all,
I live in Erbil_Iraq and they have a new offer for Sony Xperia Z they sell it for $379 so I need to know how could I know if it's refurbished or there is something I need to check before I buy it?? because I love Xperia Z series.
We'll buy from directly sony official store , sony xperia z released on 28th February 2013 and so it's gonna be almost full in end of February , there are two models one is normal and other is lte , if you have internet connection of 4g I think you should buy lte version , I'm also using xperia z and it's c6603
Hope this helps , and as for refurbishment check you tube videos that might help cus I have not seen any refurbished xperia z yet
