Bricked..tried it all..help - Droid X General

So my phone up and decides to reboot and never be able to turn on again. It has been stable for weeks. No overclocking. I did have it underclocked though.
The only think that works is getting into the boot loader which says 30.04 and battery too low. I cannot boot into recovery whatsoever.
An hour ago the phone seemed to boot on its own randomly and I saw the unlock screen but it quickly just died. Nothing works accept getting into the boot loader.
Any ideas?

plug the usb into the wall like its charging. then SBF it

Yeah make sure it's in the wall and not your car or comouter

Search for "bootablee linux cd sbf 2.3.340" on google, it will give you a link for the instructions on how to use and download a bootable linux iso. It will allow you to sbf back to stock froyo. Maks sure your battery is charged and use the number keys across the top, mot on the right, for making selections.

phone will only boot when connect to computer?

so, im really confused right now. ive been having issues, and i thought i had it worked out, then i tried rebooting my phone, and it kept looping the white htc evo screen, so i plugged it into the computer to do some adb/fastboot stuff, and it booted. ive done this multiple times to confirm. any ideas why or how to fix it?
What happens if you boot it connected to the computer and then unplug it? Does it run properly? How about booting plugged into the wall, not a computer. Does that yield the same results?

After I see the boot animation start, I can unplug it and use it normally. Except my phone fcs, and I can't get USB mass storage to work, but that could be totally unrelated. I can boot while plugged into the wall. I'm even more confused haha

Might be an issue with your battery not providing enough juice. You aren't undervolted, are you? Sounds like the phone just doesn't have enough juice to run right. If you are undervolted, try adjusting back. If not, try a new battery, I have a feeling you may see some cgange.

I agree with Aaron. You may also have a bad flash of a rom,, try reflashing the rom to see if it corrects the issue
Sounds like a good wiping and a nice clean flash will fix this issue.
Had the same problem awhile back after flashing CM 7 RC. After a reflash it went away and everything worked fine.

I got it working, flashing didn't due anything to help, but the problem would appear to be when everything messed up it was with boot manager and my recovery, and I had revolutionary cwm and couldn't find a dl for it anywhere, so using among ra or normal cwm wouldn't really work. So I pulled the recovery.img from an old nand and that did the trick.

[Q] Recovery

I am new to the droid 2, I used to use a Droid Incredible. I used the bootstrap to boot into cmrecovery to flash cyanogen. Well I got the global version because i thought they were the same. The phone turns on but doesnt really work (Turns off after 30 seconds and wont connect to the mobile network. So my question is how do you boot into cmrecovery when the phone is off so i can restore my backup
just read this its the easiest thing to do when u have a problem ! plus u have to bootstrap to get into a custom recovery jusdt sbf back and start fresh !
heres the link you need for the sbf http://forums.androidcentral.com/droid-2-rooting-roms-hacks/75388-how-sbf-back-stock.html

[Q] Bricked phones droidx please help

So i bricked my friends droid x and its currently stuck in bootloader.
Bootloader
30.04
Err: A5,70,70,00,1F
MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
Battery OK
ok to Program
Transfer mode: USB
Ive been googling around and i havent seen anything. I wanted to know if there is anything.
There is a very easy way to fix it, but before I tell you, I need to know how this happened?
(Eg. installing an OTA update)

Have u tried to sbf?
This is were I would get my proper sbf and use Linux to reflash the phone as stock. Then data reset it. Reboot and start over. You'll get it. If IT's boot up problem occurs after reboot from flash then try different from that one is not working for you or directions not proper

Like mike said, sbf time. Its pretty easy, just download the Motorola drivers, SBF file, and RSD Lite. Can be done on windows or linux.
I would recommend using the .605 sbf file rather then .621, as .621 can't be easily rooted or sfb'd.
Link with step-by-step: ugh, im a new user so it wont let me post outside links. Its stickied on Droid X forums>Rescue Squad>Droid X SBF

[Q] Possible brick? Maybe sbf save?

So here's the story. Bought a used Droid X from a guy at work. Phone was fine. Never rooted or anything related to root. So I decided to root it. Used ZergRush method I believe. Installed Bootstrap Recovery. Wife used Rom Toolbox to change several notification icons, boot animation and boot logo. Everything was great for awhile, but she got tired of it always booting into recovery. So I was going to un-root and return to stock. Ran the same ZergRush Un-root app. Then removed Bootstrap and all other root apps. Then found out wife accepted an OTA before I un-rooted. Well, at this point the phone still worked, and was un-rooted, but still rebooted into recovery, still had custom boot animation and logo as well. So she then reset phone to factory defaults. After that is when we had problems. Basically it wouldn't load past the boot logo. I just pulled the phone out from its hiding spot after a month or so to try and tackle it again. But now I think the battery is shot because it won't turn on period, whether plugged in or not, and the battery looks like its swollen. Has a huge bulge in the middle.
My question is, do you think the phone is able to work again? Cuz if not, I'm not buying a new battery.
Yeah it sounds like a bad battery now but before would it would just boot to the red m? If so an sbf would probably do the trick
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Ya before it would boot to the M and stay there, until I pulled the battery. So hopefully new battery and sbf and it will work?
Well yeah an sbf should do you just fine
Just be sure once you do the sbf you boot into stock recovery (vol down+home+power then vol up+down together when you see the !) And do a factory reset or you'll just have another headache
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Alright cool. Looks like I'll be finding a battery and having a whirl at this. Thanks for the replies
So i sbf'd the shadow 2.3.4 using rsd and it said it was completed and to manually boot the phone. So i did and it still stays at red m logo. Only difference is its now the red m where as before the sbf it was the pink Android my wife installed. So some progress I guess.
Any ideas? Try a different sbf file maybe?

EDIT: Nvm, tried a different sbf and it works fine now.
I know you say it would boot into the M but could you get it to boot into recovery?
Don't remember if i tried actually lol. Its plain now, no root or bootstrap, but it works

Help me root droid x 2.3.4 .621?

Hi all, im using a droid x running android 2.3.4, and system version 4.5.621. The thing is that if i brick this phone, i have nothing else to replace it with, so i would really like it if someone can walk me through safely rooting it step by step since this is my first android. Thanks
P.S im not sure which method to use to root it, i just know that i have to boot into linux
use magic md5 root

Okay, so after it uploaded CG66 it said waiting for device and my phone is in bootloader. I dont know what to do now, can you please help me my phone wont even boot up.
on some phones the reboot command does not work
disconnect usb cable, pull battery, wait 10 secs, replace battery, reboot phone, wait for it to completely reboot, reconnect usb cable, wait for program to continue, if it does not continue, restart program
if phone will not boot normally, verify you are using correct file and options
(not d2 4.5.621), may have to use sbf option
if it boots ok, first time, without usb connected, but reboots to bootloader 2nd time, repeat first steps

Thank you i did that and it worked! I now have an app called superuser and when i was looking through the settings my phone started lagging and it looked as it was frozen. I pulled the battery and it seems to work fine now. Thank you so much for your help
My phone is lagging again just from normal use after about 5 minutes. Any suggestions? When i start using my phone it starts to lag, but then it will stop and start again. My phone overall seems slower than before rooting. Thanks
rooting, should not change how well phone runs
it really is just giving you superuser, i would
install the modified droid X bootstrapper, and install a rom
read how to install and use droid 2/X/3 bootstrap, in, my list towards the top

I used titanium backup and backed up all system files, is that okay? Also, ive read that i should use dx bootstrap instead, what should i do?
nandroid is better, if you want to restore everything completely
titanium is better or restoring just apps

Used magic md5 root. Booted image from USB Flash Drive stick. Worked 1st time. Very appreciative for the hard work put into this.
I just purchased a new Droid X several days ago and did not think it would be this difficult to find a way to root the phone. I really like this phone and even more now that it's rooted. Bye-bye bloatware!
