Besides the signal issues I am pretty satisfied with NS4G. I played with EVO3D and it is a nice phone but it lags terribly.

Thanks for your feedback only thing that was buying my judgement was sprints poor rating on their website but most of those owners don't know about thee phone.... I come mostly from the epic and thats pretty much unbrickable theres odin and tars for the nexus too? And how easy us it to root and put cm7 on it?

anyone? please reply im going to see a nexus tomorrow and i need to know im making the right decision .. i was looking at cyanogenmod website and i dont see a stable build for the nexus s 4g only for the regular nexus s... whats the difference between stable and nightly?

Nexus is good phone, other than radio issue, which doesn't affect everyone. And don't let the CM site fool you, CM7 is stable on the 4g. Only thing still being worked on is 4g toggle in notification power controls.

I've had my nexus a for about 4 reels note and haven't had any problems yet. Its solid. I came from an evo and haven't looked back since. I even like the camera better on the nexus.

I came from the epic as well, there are odin tars for this phone to flash back to stock, allong with shaby penguins one click root methode.....its the same as the epic pretty much. Odin tars are set up a little different, there is no pit file, but there is a bootloader, phone and pda tar that you flash at the same time. One click root isnt really one click unless you modify the script, but it works pretty good.

I think the nexus s is sprint's best phone out right now. Aside from the radio issue which should be resolved with an upcoming patch from google (but sent ota by sprint), its the fastest and snappiest android phone out there.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App

You really don't need to use Odin, it is mostly using fastboot and adb. You can use the tar files if you want but if you want to unroot the phone you can just flash the stock img files.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App

Easy to unlock the bootloader, easy to root, return to stock, and load whatever kernel or roms out there. Signal seems to be an issue but there is a fix on its way. Also Google Wallet is coming with that. Its a great phone.

As far as I can tell, the GPS works like a charm. Just a warning, though, that the compass doesn't. I came from a Nexus One and the compass in the S is, for lack of a better term, jumpy. This is *the only* issue I've found in the hardware though.
Long story short, if you rely on the compass, it may not be the best choice. If you don't, it's perfect.
I've found, though, that most phones have some sort of hardware quirk. For example, the touchscreen on the N1 didn't support multitouch...and it had the dreaded power button issue. For me, the NS's issue are a step up.
But the choice is yours
Hope this helps,

Battery life is really good. I would choose this phone over any phone. Especially the evo. My friend has an evo and she can't even get 5 hours of battery life with little use.
Sent from my CM7 powered Nexus S 4g using XDA Premium App
Battery life is amazing. I'd pick this phone over any other as well. GPS is weak compared to my Nexus One. Phone loses GPS lock while driving because phone is placed 1.5 feet down and away from the windshield. Works fine if placed up on dash closer to windshield. Very weak, never had such GPS weakness with the Nexus One.
Do you guys still think it is worth getting the Nexus S right now? Or would waiting for the Nexus Prime be a better option...

There will always be something else coming out just over the horizon. I'd keep an eye our for hardware bugs in whatever you provide..
If there aren't any that you consider to be showstoppers you may as well take the plunge.

New to the Nexus S 4g! Coming from the Epic 4g!

I cracked my phone screen today on my epic 4g and the sprint rep told me it had to be a 100$ insurance claim to get a new one but offered me a new phone/free upgrade instead so I picked up the Nexus S 4g!
Was wondering what the most stable rom with best battery life for this phone is.
Interested in BLN mod for sure, but besides that, just stable(minimal bugs) and one that drains the least amount of juice.
Thanks!
Welcome old fellow epic user I would recommend crossbone if u want ics it doesn't have bln but u can flash a kernel that supports it like galados.

Congrats for getting rid of that soul crushing phone.. I had the Epic 4G for close to a year and hated most of my time with it.. Wasn't as soul crushing as the Samsung Moment I had before it but it sucked pretty good on its own right. I can only best describe it as a constant beta test.. You'll love the Nexus S and like me should convince you to never buy any phone again that isn't a Nexus...

I can tell you that the AOSP rom of ICS based on the update is more stable and fixed all the problems and bugs I had from my stable stock GB rom. Go ICS. You'll never look back.

Some help please lol

Well I have a g2x atm, and let me tell you if when had more support from lg this phone would be on the top of the list but back to reality lol; I'm looking into getting a new phone and I'm stuck on the htc sensation and this beautiful phone the nexus s for t-mobile, now I need some help on this decision. How's your 3g? How's the
development here? Like just some feedback from you owners. Thank you for anyone who responds
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
Development is great on these phones and we have stable ics. I know T-Mobile has way better 3G than sprint so I would say u should be good in that field. But I think u would be much happier with a nexus than a sensation.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium

There's a sense based ROM in development right now, i'm on sprint and tmo has better service but I don't have a complaint right now on this network. The development overall is amazing and as a phone I love it, just talked my brother into buying one he came over from an evo 4g and said he wished he would haves switched a long time ago, and he's someone who is not tech savvy at all.
On the ns4g we have a sense rom how ever its not 100% but it might be soon then I'm sure it will get ported to the regular nexus. I agree with the camera but I love it. There's a thread in the theme section that shows everyone's pics taken with there nexus and they're some really nice pics.

What persuaded you to go that route vs. the EVO LTE? I mean, Sense is way toned down with the new 4.0, and seems to not do much but enhance the experience. Just want to point out that I haven't ran a Sense ROM in about 6 months either, but the new version seems nice, and the hardware on the LTE is absolutely sick!
Anyway, I'm asking because I'm in the Nexus vs. EVO LTE vs. GSIII boat right now...

Go check the other evolte threads where scottspa quoted toastch from the twrp thread in the onex forum. HTC has forked up the unlock so badly you cannot flash firmware once unlocked, USB connection is unavailable in recovery mode so you can't flash the boot partition, system partition meaning without and exploit to gain s-off access to the bootloader the htcdev unlock is essentially useless for flashing roms/radios, any kind of p*img.zip, onlyway to flash any kind of upgrades currently is thru an ruu. HTC locking their bootloaders and giving a halfassed unlock method as some kind of joke/tease is why I currently will not purchase another HTC device. I'm not giving my money to a company who claims to support developers by giving them a halfcocked useless tool to unlock what shouldn't be locked in the firstplace. Samsung doesn't lock the bootloader they just implemented a flash count that triggers anytime you flash an unsecured kernel, its easily reset using a USB jig or if you're on ics an app called triangle away by chainfire. Rooting is as simple as running a prerooted firmware thru Odin/heimdall and Samsung is now releasing source prior to the ota and are dropping updates as quickly as they are stable. After I had a Samsung intercept as my first android device Samsung left a bad taste in my mouth and I went to the HTC evo, as if had several HTC winmo phones and liked them. Then I was given an ET4G sprints version of the sgs2 and realized how much of an improvement Samsung has made in the 2 years since I had my intercept. Now HTC goes and forks around with the monkey business of locking the bootloader then giving an unlock method thats about as useful as a broken key to your front door, so now you gotta spend alot of time and effort attempting to break in your own Backdoor with out damaging anything

Come up of the year.

Recently went to a yard sale and found a Nexus S for sale $5 Guy said his kid messed it up that it didn't turn on. I thought to my self what the heck and bought it when I got home I went on XDA. It was a simple thing all I had to do was access boot screen and do a reset. Working great..
But now i have a question to any who read this. Now so far all I know is that is Sprint Nexus S but I see there is also a 4g I know its a dumb question but where would I find it. Now my new mission for the week is finding out before I start flashing Roms. So far I have a Galaxy 2, a Nexus S, hopefully soon Galaxy 4 and the phone that started my addition Galaxy S Captivate.
Any one have any good ROM,apps, and kernal recommendations would appreciate.
