So yeah i love my transformer. But...... i know this is geeky, but im looking to for a way, when i have my tablet hooked up to my TV visa the hdmi cable. I can control the movies (mainly) through my EVO 4G? I know it odd. But i was pimping the transformer to my friends. But had to get up every time we had to pause or back up or switch the movies. I know there iTunes, pc, other apps to control wii and xbox, but nothing found to control tablet with phone. Thanks for and 411.

I couldnt find this posted anywhere else so here you go
I watched a movie on my plasma last night through my DHD via. USB cable, Im sure it would would work for most new TV's as they all seem to have a USB port in the back.
All i did was plugin the DHD to the TV via. USB cable and set the phone to "Disk Drive Mode" and a box came up on my TV saying that it had found a "Android Device" and i could watch a movie straight off it, It just had a "explorer" type menu and you can select movies, pictures or music Which i thought was pretty awesum!
Give it a go if you have a USB port on your TV, mines a Samsung Plasma about 1.5 years old. I tried to take a pic if it but of course i forgot that i cant use the camera when storage mode is on lol
NOTE: It worked fine for me but im not sure about voltages etc... it charged my phone at the same time, but i guess if you TV knows its an Android Phone like it did in my case, its probably made to be able to do it.
Nice one! I need to test this one with my Samsung tv

It's not a feature of your DHD but of your TV 'cause it has media player. Then you switch your DHD to disk mode it works like just a card or usb drive.
Yea I realize that I never said it was a feature of the phone. But is it not good to know?

im using acs srf 1.2 so i dont have allshare.
I really didnt know how to post the question and make sense at the same time.

this post may not get a lot of traffice, but sure would be nice if someone with some knowledge would chime in
Samsung needs to fix our tv out issue so we can utilize this to its full potential.

Not if they enable our tv-out feature. We could stream it directly from the phone through the AUX port.
Also, I'm sure there's a way to stream your phones screen to the computer through the use of an application on the phone and on the pc. Could be wrong, but it seems remotely likely..

You can rent from other places online for your PC like Amazon.
Yeah, I'm not sure why would want to do that... the Android movies are $1 more expensive on average, and probably would be lower quality. Go on Amazon or something.

ok I have netflix, and I have amazon along with a few others , and yes I can rent a movie from those places.
My main thing is , i would not want to rent a $4 movie on my phone only to be able to watch on my phone and thats it, I could care less what other services there are. I was just curious if there was a way to stream to our pc once we rented it.

Does Kies Air have this functionality?

Being able to stream it to another viewing device or not Google movies gets a big YOU SUCK for blocking viewing on rooted phones.
Has anyone watched a movie from the marketplace yet? Maybe it is possible to use the dlna feature. I have my pc connected to my tv and my phone Wireless networked to my pc. Not sure if it would work for rentals.

No...the real question is why would you spend $4 to stream a movie? We are just trying to save you $$.

not trying to be rude , but I dont remember asking you to save me money lol.
I do however think that it should be possible to stream the movie from my phone to a pc.
I think would be kind of nifty you rent a movie on your phone , you watch it , go over a friends house and say hey I got a movie want to watch it?, and be able to stream it to their pc or something.

I understand the premise but I think that is what Google is trying to prevent because once on a PC it can be recorded easily. There are too many apps for computers to do this. This is also supposedly why the root block is there (not much of a lock though).
All's Google needs is a lawsuit from a movie company stating they are the reason it was bootlegged (too many lawyers in this world).
I'm sure at some point you will be able to access the rented google movie from your google account on your pc. And I am betting you will be able to with a google enabled tv as well. I'm not sure if it works that way now but it might in the future.

Is there any ghetto way we can wirelessly mirror the transformer screen through an Xbox?
It would be nice to sit all the way back on the couch and be able to control playback of movies without a 30ft HDMI cable running all over the place.

I don't believe it would be possible. Do you just want to play media stored on the Transformer and have it play on the XBox? You could try using the MyNet app and stream the media to the XBox.
I've tried that but can almost never get it to work. I would like to mirror the screen, that would be awesome. I guess its too much to ask though

All I can think of is to get a wireless HDMI transmitter and connect this to the HDMI port of the Transformer.
Or you could go the other way and plug the Transformer directly into the TV and then user a bluetooth keyboard/remote to control the Transformer if you don't care about touch screen.
Just a heads up for all you a/v nerd types out there in Moto-land.
This thing works for us too!

Because HDMI is ALL it has. no composite video on ring2 of the headphone jack, no other way to get video out of the phone onto a bigger screen.
you plug this into your phone, then you can plug your phone into a monitor or projector that doesn't have an HDMI input but has VGA or RGBHV (with appropriate cables)
Many conference rooms/presentation rooms/auditoriums still don't have HDMI/DVI on podiums but use RGB video distribution systems,
and it looks great.
That's why we need this!
Cool! Thanks for this! I have a monitor and speakers I use with my netbook. Now when my netbook is being used for couponing by my roommate I can watch stuff without dragging my roku to my bedroom!
