Would anybody tell me that how can I flash back my gsm hero to the real official android 2.1 rom, after flashed the unofficial rom? Thanks
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/1876-Stock-GSM-HTC-Hero-2.1-Update-Files-here! is the 2.1 rom from htc but root
do mean going back stock unrooted
first go and flash a sense rom
next download htc sync http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=283&cat=3&dl_id=1073 install it
next download the ruu http://www.htc.com/uk/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=283&act=sd&cat=all the ruu are 1.5(cupcake)
next connect your usb to your computer
then it sould give you some opinion choose teh htc sync opinion
next run the ruu and you should be back unroot
when boot it should say there is an update
after that update is finished and your phone is boot system software update it should then download the update for 2.1
after it finishs downloading it should tell you to install it if not go it to settings about phone system software update

Hi
I Had a rooted Htc Hero on Tmob and decided to try the official 2.1 update
But I must say I was disappointed, so even any one thinking of doing it my advise is don't unroot.
THere is no live wallpaper as Hero wont support it
Facebook wont snyc with contacts
I prefer the rooted custom roms better and since I had my gold card img am back to my rooted version on froydvillian 1.1.1.
this is what i did ----DONT TRY THIS..... UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING
TO UNROOT
1. downgrade to tmobile official rom
check on htc webiste for the rom as i cant post link
run it and update to the tmob rom - you will obviously loose root
once setup it will ask you to update your phone to a small 3mb firmware update
(if you said no to get it back just factory reset phone)
after the firmware it will automatically give you the option to update 2.1 ota update
( if not factory reset phone again)
and you should have your official 2.1 tmob.
TO ROOT PHONE AGAIN
1. Downgrade with the generic RRU same like how you did before and for tmob customers do the gold card thing again
(hope you have your goldcard img still in the email) like i had mine
then the usual flash rec and amon ra recovery
and thats it you back to unroot
I've flash with a froyo rom , and now, I just want to get back to eclair or a baked froyo, that rom is full of problem : not a real android market(htc market) chinese apps, and the worst : I can't use the web browser but I can get my emails.
So if someone got an idea to root that rom or to roll back to a previous version , I'm open to your propositions.
I've already try with unrevoked/an other RUU rom (with and without a goldcard).
I used the froyo rom from shipped-roms
You need to do a full wipe from recovery before flashing the new rom.
thanks for the idea ;
I've tried, but the recovery mod doesnt load properly.
unrevoked shows that somes files aren't found while it's pass from HBOOT to HBOOT USB PLUG , and i'm not able to select recovery with the volume button in the HBOOT menu.
I think you have to wait for alpha rev :/
Same thing happened to me. Now my phone is not syncing Google or facebook contacts. The rom is very much limited. What i foundout was, the ruu update. Has also upgraded the hoot to version .83 from .80. That is the reason other ruus and unrevoke crash. Downgrading the hboot will do the trick. There are methods avaiable for desire but im not. sure they will work with. Wildfire. If the hoot is same for desire and wildfire rename the zip file. As PC49IMG.zip should downgrade the hoot. Any help is apnpreciated.
alparev will not help cos u need root for it, least on website is info Requirements:
The only requirement right now is that the ROM you're running is rooted.

yes, becos adbd is in other place, not in system.img as usual but in boot.img and adbd is different from every other adbd
first, yes i know how to search!
i've found out that when you want to unroot your phone you have to do it using ruu's.
how do i know wich Ruu i should use?
when i install the Ruu, is it just like installing a new rom using clockwork?
and when i've installed the Ruu how do i uninstall clockwork and all the other things that comes with the root?
i am currently using the standard 2.1 update 1 rom for wildfire (original rom)
if you plan not to do rooting and flashing anymore, just update to 2.2. Everything will get original, but you will lose the opportunity to root it again. Otherwise, flash a kinda of unroot image, which comes with unrevoked, i didn't hear about it anyway. Try yourself.
To install the RUU, Download it (It will be an EXE File), install HTC Sync on your PC, Connect your device, and, run it. You will lose Clockworkmod and all root associated apps and priveleges when you unroot it.
First check that you can root your phone.
If you already have Froyo installed on your phone then you will have the new Hboot.
If can root use the old unbranded Eclair Ruu from shipped rom's.
It's in the guide (turkeys guide i think) stickyd at the top of the page.
I also want to go back to using stock ROMs. Froyo actually. The only reason I rooted was to gain app2sd facility which was not there in Eclair.
Now that Froyo is out for wildfire spare me the unstable ROMs. I will go for the Stock one.
I have the RUU for my mobile. But When I run it from PC, I get cannot upgrade your phone. I understand this is because I am having a custom recovery (Mine is ClockworkRecovery).
Now can anyone tell how I can get the stock Froyo ?
Do I need to get the stock recovery back ? Is there a bypass for this ?
Or is there a .zip file intead of RUU.exe files for Stock Froyo ?
hey guy
help me..my wildfire shows no update for your phone.even android 2.2 is available for others ..i read somewhere that u get update on 1.25 build number..
i have download this file HTC asia buzz 1.14 to 1.25 signed.exe
but its shows some error while flashing...help me
and my phone is not rooted...
I'm not sure what the "asia buzz 1.14 to 1.25 signed.exe" is but you should try the 1.25 from shipped roms (or one of the others listed there):
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_142190_signed.exe
Read the last post on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885744
as you may need to use a goldcard. Be careful about installing 2.2 as youy cannot root it (see post)
now i want to install cynogenmod on my wildfire

Have a look in Wildfire Android Development (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=701) for these more technical questions.
Do not update to Froyo 2.2 before trying to upgrade to CM. Froyo will prevent rooting and the subsequent upgrade to CM.
Root the phone first by using unRevoked3 (http://unrevoked.com/#wildfire).
This will also install Clockwork Recovery as part of the process.
Then follow the installation instructions for CM at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822132
Don't update to 2.2 as stated above. You will lose the ability to install any custom ROM's as CM.
To root and install custom ROM's, just read this guide completely and follow it step by step. You cant go wrong.

As mentioned in the previous post, you should read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824396 as it will answer these questions.
I'm not sure what you are talking about with the file menu and img files, etc.
Put simply, install Unrevoked3 on your PC. (If you are running windows you will have to install the HBOOT drivers to your PC: with linux you wont). Set your phone to 'USB debug' mode. Connect your phone to your PC with the USB cable. On the phone select "Charge only" mode. Start Unrevoked3 and don't touch anything until Unrevoked says that it has finished.
Its quite easy!
thnaks i have install cynogen mod works good

hi:
today i recived a hero that stuck on logo after self updating using wifi
and i wanna know is it solvable at all
Updating as in official update or did you flash a rom? Did you make a nandroid backup? (If it was a rom you flashed)
he said that updated by phone itself not any external updates
Yeah totally read that wrong.. only thing to do would be to download an ruu
can you guide me to an ruu download area
tnx
well ive downloaded this file
RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.5_WWE_release_signed_NoDriver.exe
is it same you mean?
if yes how can i use it?
is there any file that i be able to put it on mmc and use as rom upgrade?
Can you get into fastboot (hold vol- +POWER I think?). You may be able to "extract rom from ruu" (Google how to do that), then rename to pc10img.zip, place on SD, install through bootloader in fastboot? I will try to have a go on my old hero if I get time later for u.
download last file at http://www.htc.com/uk/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=283&act=sd&cat=all connect your Hero to PC then install it,it will return it like it was originally to 1.5, but remember it will WIPE everything out
then update OTA to get things back up to date
this is what i did
but i'm no expert, others might help you more
