Hi,
The tun.ko was working great in 1.9.0. The one supplied with 1.9.1 gives error
insmod /system/lib/modules/tun.ko
insmod: init_module '/system/lib/modules/tun.ko' failed (Exec format error)
Googling the error informs me that tun.ko will need to be re-compiled.
Can someone post a link to the correct tun.ko file?
PN: I am a new user at xda-forums. The forum did not allowed me to post this question in 'Development' section.
Do you have the tun.ko? Please send it in email! Thanx.
[email protected]
(I need tun.ko for 2.2 318 ROM, and because I didnt find it on the net, I accept every tun.ko for test.)
Sorry guys whay is tun.ko?

Short answer : If you don't know what it is, don't worry as you don't need it.
Long answer : It is the ethernet TAP/TUN driver that allows you to create virtual network interfaces, which is a technique used by some (not all) VPN technologies to create virtual private network links, for example into your office or home network.
Mostly, on android, it is needed to support OpenVPN tunnels.

Hi all, thanx for your replies.
@wyx, i have the tun.ko to the email given.
@gpmg762, i have downloaded the tun.ko, and will test it shortly.
I tried the tun.ko linked by gpmg762, and it still gives me an exec error as well. I had it working in streakdroid 1.9.0 before.

The magicversion in tun.ko has to match the kernel version else it will fail. What is your kernel version, I'll see if I can compile a tun.ko for you.
I am using Streak Droid 1.9.1.
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-DJ_Steve-NTFS-KGSL2D-PPT-OC
Android version:2.2.2

Hey Guys,
I just got my Dell Streak at the beginning of the month. I just got it unlocked and rooted. I am looking to upgrade to Dj Steve's Rom however, I'm having a hard time finding the information I need to do so. Most of the info I have found pertain to AT&T (US) and O2 (UK) users. I'm trying to find out how to go from the stock 1.6 from Rogers (build 7921) to DJ Steve's latest build (or most stable build).
So here is what I'm asking for today guys:
1) If anyone in the Ottawa (National Capital Region) knows how to do this and is willing to go through the process for me (or with me), I'm willing to pay for a successful upgrade.
2) If you can give me clear guidance or point me to the appropriate information, it would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks so much guys,
Pat
if you used a search on the dell streak forum for "rogers" you would have found THIS
but since im here, i found that THIS thread helped me with what i needed to install on my computer to be able to update
then i used the main tutorial HERE to get to a prerelease version of froyo
from there you can use the "next steps" guide in the above link to get you to either an official release of 2.2 or to dj_steves froyo 1.6.1 which u can find in the development thread
happy modding
Its not hard but for some reason some of these instructions are hard to follow I will try and make a YouTube video tomorrow and post it here.

Hi guys this is a re-post from General/Q&A, but im not getting any responses so im gonna try it here.
Firstly i am a bit of a noob (learning). I'm having some issues getting live wallpapers to work on my GT-i5800. Here's some info about my phone.
Baseband: I5800XXJP4
Kernel 2.6.32.9 seb.black-box-1 #86
Build : FROYO XXJPM
Ive rooted my phone and OC'd to 1.3ghz all fine. stl5 and stl6 are on ext2.
ok so heres the problem.
I have downloaded 'sdcard.rar' and placed on sd root.
using this code..
EDIT: I had to remove the code as the boards thought i was posting outside links... Im sure you know the one im referring to.
type 'su' then enter and i get a message saying terminal has super user access.
After the second line of code i get an error message sating 'Mount: invalid argument'.
Ive tried changing stl5 to stl6 with no joy. Any help would be very much appreciated.
thanks
