Anyone Know how to delete "APP2SD" from my sdcard?
I've Already made some partitions on my microSD 2GB, after I've finished the partitions, my storage in my MicroSD card change from 2GB to 1.5GB.
and, last day, i bought new MicroSD 4GB, and I put my 1.5GB SDCard, and put into my Windows Mobile Omnia Pro.
and I wanna turn back my 1.5GB into 2GB again.
but how?I've already format it, and I've already made 0mb partitions from Recovery,but it's still read 1.5GB...
any suggestions?
So all i want to do is take everything off my 4gb sd card and use an 8gb sd card so that I have more storage space. Everything works great as is, and I wanted to keep everything as is. Just need more storage space. I've looked through the forums and haven't found anything that addresses this process. I am running CyanogenMod 7.0.3 w/a 4gb sandisk micro sd card. How do I copy so that it boots just like my 4gb card???? Thanks ahead of time for any help.

I recommend just writing an image file with winimage. Then writing it to a 8gb card, then using Easeus Partition manager to expand the last partition to full 8 gb.'
Do you boot from the SD card or eMMC?
If it's the latter, just copy the contents of the old card to the new one.
If it's the former, I recommend a fresh install; use a backup program (MyBackup, Titanium Backup) to back up your Apps and Data and then restore when you're done with the fresh install.
I'd like to do this as well.. in response to previous reply.. there are 4 partitions (boot, 2 other and last one with your data) do I have to create 4 different images with winimage or just for the first boot partition or does the winimage creates the image of the whole msd card?
The winimage will create a 4 gb image of your card on the 8 gb cards including existing partitions. What you'll need to do is get the largest partition to expand to the whole card. Assuming that the 4gb install on SD is the same as an 8 gb install if you did it fresh.
If the partitions are set different for 8 gb on a fresh install, you're better off just doing a fresh install and use titanium backup as the other guy said.

That's a good point, the Size-agnostic SD installer uses different partition sizes for everything except the boot partition depending on the size of the card.
I tried winimage first to see if it even worked. Which it didn't. I didn't try to expand the existing partition. It just booted as a normal nook. You would think this would be a easy process but.... Lol, always new challenges. Guess that's why I enjoy doing this.
Well I tried yet again w image, expanded the partition. Still. Didn't work. I must be missing something. How hard can it be to make a copy of a bootable card? Must b brain dead today! Any other thoughts? Thanks!

I have done this several times, and I recommend downloading easus todo backup free. Then place both sdcards in a card reader, run todo backup and just copy the 4g to the 8g and expand the fourth partition right there in todo.
This applies especially if you want to copy to same size sd's, as you will not run into the usual image sizing issues.

I don't know what you're doing wrong. before expanding the partition, make sure the sd boots, if it doesn't, then there's a problem with image being read or written as opposed to the partition.
I also had a problem with a new SD card not booting that I fixed by using the nook (that is the core nook OS) to reformat the card, then put the image onto the SDcard (shouldn't have changed anything as far as I know, but it did anyway).
Ok I tried this and it worked flawlessly. Used win32diskimager to "read" my 4gb sd with cm7 image. and then used "write" to 8gb sd card. It cloned 4 gb original image with 4 partitions and one unused partition of 4 gb. After that used easeus partition manager(latest version) to format unused pattition to fat32 and then merged with last partition of 2gb (move/resize) ..so now I have 6 gb of data partition which i can use to transfer files or move apps from nook's internal drive. The new 8gb card with cm7 image booted without any issues keeping my original settings of 4gb. One thing to mention that somehow it did not work on one pc with windows xp (kept getting write error on win32diskimager program)but worked on my laptop with windows 7.
That is exactly how I have done it in the past as I described in my first post. I don't know why a person would have trouble with it unless there was a format issue (i.e. ntsf, etc).
My nook has 7.0.3 encore stable, 4 GB card, and I was wondering if there was a way to increase the SD card space in Android to greater than 39 MB.
On my computer, I did extend the partition, but the extended area shows up as the internal storage, and I need the SD card space for some apps.

If so, you should have at least 110MB+ space on "boot", roughly about 1GB for /data and /system and the rest, probably 2GB+ left over, for your own use.
Use a tool such as Minitool Partition Wizard, to extend the 4th partition on your SD card all the way to the max. You should get roughly over 3 GB of space on a 4GB card when running off uSD.
what I'm talking about is the "virtual" SD card that android recognizes. I did extend the fourth partition, but the space for my stuff goes under internal storage. is there a way I can make some of that space go under SD card that android recognizes?
did you ever get an answer or figure this out? I have been searching for 2 days and cannot find info on which partition CM7 thinks is "the phone" for the purpose of installing apps. I get 2-3 on then it says I am out of space.
Yes, when I used a 32 gB card, the internal storgae partition was about one gb, and my SD card partition (inside android) was 28 gb
So I guess it would depend on the sizeof your SD card?

Minitool partition allowed me to upgrade my 8Gb microSD to at 32Gb microSD.
Now I can REALLY load those PDFs, ebooks, and music onto my Nookcolor's Android C7.
Hey guys, I searched for an answer all over but can't find it.
I just bought a Sandisk 8GB MicroSD card from j&r. I formatted it immediately and when I popped it in, it only shows 6.43 GB of space free. I know that the actual storage is always less than the advertised storage, but 1.6GB seems a bit much.
Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a way to reclaim more space, perhaps with a different format (I formatted it as FAT32)?
EDIT: I went to Computer Management and found what the problem is. I have two partitions on my MicroSD card, one for 6.43 GB and the other for 977 MB of unallocated space. I can't seem to extend the 6.43 to encompass the whole card and I can't delete the 977 MB partition. Does anyone know why this partition might be there?

Could be defective, or fake. What's j&r? Online store? I would return it, as a format should give you all the space available. So that number is it.
No, j&r is a reputable electronics store in NYC.
But I mixed up which card I bought yesterday. It was actually the 16GB one that I bought yesterday, the 8GB one came with my G2. I never really looked at the space or formatted it before today.
Anyway, I'll try and format it a couple of different ways and see what I get.
Is it possible there is a ext or swap partition on it? This would not show up under windows.

I just don't understand why I wasn't able to do that with Window's own Disk Management program.

I am running CM7 on a 16GB Sandisk Class 4 uSD. I'm very new to this, so I hope someone can help me with my question. When I download apps from Google Play, where does it get stored? When I go to Settings -> Storage, I see the following: SD card/Total Space = 13.31 GB, SD card/Available space = 13.22 GB. Under Internal storage/Total space = 0.93GB, Internal storage/Available space = 680 MB. Under Additional storage: /mnt/emmc Total space = 1.0GB, Additional storage: /mnt/emmc Available space 1.0GB.
So it looks like the apps are being stored in "Internal storage", but I'm not sure whether that is in NC's internal memory, or the SD card. On the one hand, the SD card shows 13.22 GB available out of 13.31 GB, so it looks like it is not being used. But on the other hand, Additional storage: /mnt/emmc Available space is 1.0 GB, so I assume that is my 1.0 GB allotted to me by B&N, so it also doesn't look like I'm using up the NC's internal memory.
So where are my apps being stored? If they are not being stored on the SD card, how can I move the existing apps to the SD card, and also how do I set it up so that all apps (and book) downloads go to the SD card in the future?
Your apps are running on your SD card's "internal" partition which is still on the SD card.

In CM terms, internal storage means your /data partition. For SD installed CM, your /data is still on your SD, just in a separate partition. And when play store installs an app, it installs the application files to your /data partition on the SD.
When your SD was first set up, several partitions were created on it, one of which was /data. The size for the /data partition was set when your SD was partitioned. This partitioning is why your 16GB looks like it now only has 13GB. Some of the space was set aside for other uses.
The 13GB is your media partition on the SD. It is named 'sdcard' in CM terms. It is to be used for your media files, books, movies, pictures, etc. And installed apps use it to store any files they need to (like files they download, etc.).

j8048188 and leapinlar, thanks for explaining to this noobie where apps are stored. Is it possible to re-size the /data and /sdcard partitions, to say, 3GB and 11GB, without wiping out the apps I already downloaded? If so, how could I do it?

Unfortunately, no, not with Windows and not once you have installed a ROM and there is information stored in /data. Windows does not know how to read the data format that /data uses. Windows based partition managers can manipulate the /data partition if there is no data in it. And the only time that is true is just after you have booted the new SD, but before you have installed your first ROM. (However, if you have Linux, you can use partition manager software there to resize with data in it since Linux knows how to read the data).
So if you have Windows and you want it set bigger, you have to catch it before you install your first ROM on it. You can back up your installed apps with titanium backup, start over with your SD again, manipulate the partitions before installing the ROM and restore your apps later. If you decide to do that, use Mini-Tool Partition Manager and make partition 4 (media) smaller and partition 3 (data) larger. Be sure to copy the titanium backup files to your PC because they will be wiped out if you start over.

In ubuntu, use gparted to resize the partitions on the sd. Shrink partition 4 (leaving space in front of it) and expand partition 3 to fill it. And usually people say 2GB is large enough for partition 3. If you find later it is not big enough, just do this again.
