[Q] LCD Density? - XPERIA X8 General

hi there,
i know there are other threads on LCD Density, but i wanted to make this to clear things up a little bit, what does higher or lower density mean? how do you change the density of the screen? i know you need to edit both the build.prop files, but what section of the script? and does anybody have any screenshots for higher/lower density settings?
thanks in advance

dunno abt build.prop, but there's an app in the market which can set your LCD Density. It requires root btw.

Hello,
You can change you LCD Density in "Build.prop" on System/ [Require Root Device]
"ro.sf.lcd_density=140", "140" Work better than "160" on our X8,
I try it and work Nice then 160

Battery mod for Cognition 1.13 only

Hello all,
I can't take full credit for this, but I modified the framework-res.apk file in designgears 1.13 version to change the battery icon to something a bit more readable. The icons are from another user on here who had posted this version for the stock a while back.
Anyhow ... I can't post an image just yet ... kid is playing some game on it, but basically it's the same battery in horizontal with larger digits in white font. Will post shots once he lets me have it again
Just replace the framework-res.apk in /system/framework and redo the permissions to rw_r__r__
Hope it helps

[Q] Tablet UI

Hello,
I went through a number of launchers (Go,Nova,Apex, TSF) and wasn't fully satisfied with anyone of them. So i modified the dpi setting and now have the tablet ui. One small issue i noticed is that with the lowering the DPI setting i lose some home screen real estate (can't drop a widget all the way at the top of the screen nor all the way at the bottom). Now i really want to keep the table ui so does anyone know what i can do to alleviate this issue?
Thanks in Advance.

Give the Chameleon Launcher for Tablets a shot
I'm on Apex with 160 DPI and my widgets are hard against the top.

[Q]Some problems about changing DPI of stock TW rom

Hi guys,
We know the real PPI of S4 is 440, but the value in software (/system/build.proc) is 480. So the icon and text is larger than standard one.
I'v changed my phone's dpi by modify
/system/build.proc
then my phone is unable to boot.
yesterday i update ROM version to ZCUCMH1. I try that again, and it booted.
I change DPI from 480 to 360/380
A lager view is really amazing.

the phone's screen has shrunk. what i should ?
You need to be more specific? I'm assuming you mean that all the objects on your phone have become smaller? If so, the DPI in the build.prop was probably edited. To change it download Root Browser or an app that can browse system partitions and edit files, then navigate to /system/build.prop. Look for "ro.sf.lcd.density=" and change the number by a bit. A smaller number will be everything will shrink and a larger number means everything will be bigger. Try not to edit if by too much (40 should be ok) because you can get stuck in a blank screen. After you edit it and saved it, reboot and everything should be bigger. Good luck!

Factory DPI | Moto G4 Plus

Hey! Fellow Moto X2 user here.
Rooted G4 Plus only! : I am curious about the default factory DPI (can be found in build.prop file in /system folder ; look for lcd.density) set on Moto G4 Plus.
And finally, how does the device fair as your daily driver? Cheers! [emoji4]
There isn't lcd.density in the build.prop. Many people have already searched it

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Then, can you check-in an application called textdroider dpi on Play Store? (Requires root though)
It shows current DPI in it like this,
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
The default DPI is 480
