Looking for Cincinatti Bell Streak owners - Streak 5 General

What rom was your streak preloaded with?
Currently there is a report from one owner that they had 349 on their streak at one point, but the previous owner had installed simple streak without first making a backup.
349 is a previously unknown rom with a previously unused region (it's region 34)
If you have 349 installed, I am looking for a nandroid dump.
If your streak has some other version (and you're sure it hasnt been updated to a different rom/custom rom) i would also be interested to know what's on it

How do i....

How do i know which dell streak do i have?
Unlocked, att, o2, rogers....etc?
I would like to know, due to update situation.
when i click check update...it says no update for your device.
thanks for any help
Whats your BaseBand ??
I would like to know also.
my baseband is gausb1a111100-eu.
factory unlocked
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
It wouldn't really make much of a difference at the moment as no updates are available yet, they are slowly releasing the updates to different regions on units unlocked direct from Dell first. If you enter Settings -> About Device and then scroll down to Baseband, it will give an indication there. If the code ends with 00 then it is an unlocked unit direct from Dell, if it has 21, then it is a unlocked locked to O2 and if it is 31, it is a unit locked to AT&T. As long as you or someone else hasn't changed it by flashing it to something else in order to update the ROM to 2.1 or something, then this should be right (I think). There may be others but I'm not sure, but as long as you've got the original ROM installed, then the update will find the correct update (depending on your device) when it is available....where did you get the phone from?
Ok thanks for the info. I bought at a telecom shop called BelCompany in the netherlands.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
oh okay thanks for the info
it ends with 00-us
it still says no update....
dang dell..taking for ever to release the update...

[Q] looking for uk wifi only full dump.

Has anyone got a link to, or is able to do a full dump of their UK wifi only model.
I know the hardware is the same, but the software is definately different.
Ive flashed the us wifi only 3.1 but want to restore back to stock and foolishly didn't backup beforehand. (I read that the us and uk version are identical, but they I fact are not)
I don't care about losing root either
Thanks

T-Mobile UK Stock Rom (PDA, Phone, CSC)

Could anyone with a new (before any updates, with the 7004 os version) T-Mobile UK Omnia 7 please verify what PDA / Phone / CSC does the handset come out of the box with??? Please DON'T provide the version numbers listed under Settings->About, I want the I8700xxzz codes.
You can find that info by entering the Diagnosis menu (dialing ##634#) and then *#1234#
I think that would be a useful piece of info just in case we need to send the device back.
I can tell you what mine came out of the box with on Orange UK, which I would guess may be the same since the two companies are so closely linked.
on .7004 i had...
PDA: ends with JID
Phone: ends with JIC
CSC: ends with JID
If you do a search through this thread i saw a guy saying he had JJ4 firmware on his early release t-mobile UK Omnia.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=963285&highlight=update&page=9
These not alot of point in listing this info, due to the facts that the firmware the phone has, depends on when it was released.
Plus if your phone came with the orignal firmware and was latter updated to NoDo, then it went wrong. T-Mobile (and the other Phone companies) would still Repair/Replace it.
Point in case My Omnia (Oct 2010) has JJ4 firmware.
My mates Omnia (Feb 2011) has JJ6, both are T-Mobile contract phones.
Judging from the fact that Ι got my phone just recently, and it had the 7004 os version, I kinda thought that they wouldn't have updated any phones in stock firmware-wise as well, and that they all had one out-of-the-factory firmware. Apparently that isn't the case.
This is just a guess, so keep a bucket of salt handy
When the phones leave the Samsung factory they have the lastest Firmware and possibly the lastest Retail OS versions.
Then when the phones arrive at the Network Provider, they wipe the 'Retail' OS and use their own 'Branded' OS image.
Which in the case of T-Mobile UK could still be the original one from last October, hence your new phone still had 7004 installed.

Rooting does help with battery life

Is been 2 days I had my phone flashed with a Bell specific XXKG3 firmware and CF-Root.
I'm very happy with the results, first because I was able to remove over 60mb of bloatware running as services and second, I was able to change the service location so I can run country specific applications on it.
I know that some of you have reserve when it comes to completely changing the structure of a new phone... don't. All procedures explained at XDA are bulletproof and will make your phone last longer, battery wise.

Rooting and custom ROM literally quadrupled my battery life. It's way too bloated out of the box. Bell sgs2 also.
Bell KG3? Where?
Is from SamFirmware, generic XXKG3 running on Gingerbread 2.3.4 version. See link in first post and read the thread. Not sure if Rogers phone is identical to Bell one, I know that Bell model is identical to Europe one.

[Q][Answered] Name of UK sim-free GT-I9505 firmware?

Hi
Can anyone point me at the firmware that would have been on my sim-free S4?
I went to Cyanogen and really missed the samsung features (cover view, etc), and then bricked it with Hyperdrive, and then found a "3" firmware that got me back up. So, I would like to get back to where I was!
Also - can anyone recommend a custom rom that retains the Samsung features?
Many thanks

The Region code is BTU, this is the Generic UK Firmware, just meaning, unlocked/sim free phones in the UK.

There is 2 mirrors provided by Samsung-updates.
Thank you so much!

Bear in mind, that if your phone is locked to specific operator, flashing this ROM will not unlock your phone from your operator. The generic ROM comes clean from operator bloatware. You have to SIM unlock your phone separately.
