Why would you assume that?
If you flash any official RUU, you will lose root.

So whats the story with these? Whats new about them?

They are newer than previous leaks I've seen posted here on XDA so far...
That being said... 1.68.605.3 was posted on Rootzwiki.com's forums around 6/24.
1.69.605.0 is slightly newer than that.
If these are "full" signed RRU's, and they include an hboot and recovery files, then flashing them will most likely remove root, S-Off, and clockwork/custom recovery.
Jcase mentioned being on a 1.70 build a few weeks ago too.

I'm running the 1.69.605.0 radio on bamf 3. everything seems to be fine.

Excellent. New PlainJane right around the corner!

This released ruu has the release baseband, didnt check the older stuff, but here it is in a full PG05IMG flashable.
Compatible w/ the GB leak.

DEVS PLEASE READ!!2.1OTA info

Ok...so I did the 2.1OTA manually off of my sd card and noticed that HBOOT did not change so I flashed with pb00img.zip(root) and pulled the battery when it re-booted. I then used fastboot to load the RA-eris-v1.6.2 recovery image. I now have a backup from nandroid of my 2.1OTA if any of you would think that this is helpful.

Yea, they already know about it. The OTA is more of a patch update so it doesn't update hboot. Right now you probably have an hboot version of 1.46 or 1.47 and leakers have 1.49. The rooted 2.1 rom has a lower version number than the leak (v1,v2, and v3) version number. That's one reason we can't downgrade. You're able to because yours didn't change. If we could get a rooted rom with a higher hboot or make the eris not verify the sigs on the updates/recovery images then we could have root in a snap. Unfortunately, that's not the case...
you backup will contain the 2.1 root image.
Thanks for the info. This is now more or less confirmed in my mind.
2.1 ota DOES NOT contain a bootloader in it, meaning the phone keeps the original bootloader. AKA rootable.

[ruu][rooted][MR1 aka OTA] CONFIRM Build Number: 1.13.605.7 Baseband: 1.16.00.0402w_1

This is the same as the OTA released on May 12th 2011 and is the MR1. Confirmed by me this morning. This file will wipe /data. It is possible to back up, and do an advanced restore of just data on most sense roms.
Not responsible for damage or losses caused by this firmware. Use at your own risk. Flash it was an RUU (like in the root guides), not using recovery. This will only flash on a s-off device, it is unsigned. This will wipe your data.
This is a rooted version of
PG05IMG_Mecha_VERIZON_WWE_1.13.605.7_Radio_1.16.00.0402w_NV_8k_1.41_9k_1.64_release_182727_signed.zip
hboot, and recovery have been removed to maintain root. Su/Superuser have been added (thanks rmk and chainsdd). adbD has been set to run as root in the kernel's ramdisk.

Football,
Thanks, EXE versions are hard to come by, seems that HTC no longer sends them to verizon as EXEs. Very helpful to those unfamiliar with the process.
Others/Devs,
Byte for byte the same as the 1.70.605.0 previously posted in .zip format.

Which means no difference between the two at all? Like, I should just stay with the radio I have now or?
For those of that aren't devs... what's the specs of this? GB? Froyo? Is this the new GB base that Chingy was referring to a few days ago? Sorry for the, perhaps obvious, questions but I don't blindly click on .exe links w/o knowing exactly what it is.

I believe you mean executable, and yes.
Is it possible to use the latest official OTA radio (for the connection stability or performance fixes it hopefully provides) while also obtaining root and S-OFF? It seems like it's very hard to have both the latest stable fixes and updates and also root.

I beleve so. When I had my incredible I would use a ruu.exe to return all of it back to stock. I believe this would do the same.
Great work
the only real difference here is the fact that this comes with software that is run on your computer to update the phone. download, run, plug in when prompted, and it will update.this is an alternative to installing in hboot as a PG05IMG.
thank you football, every time you post one of these(or any ROM)i download and save it. tho im not sure i will ever have a reason to use them

Here is the pc10img.zip file that is available from T-Mobile stores. Make sure your phone is fully charged before you attempt to install it, the demo I installed it on would not install unless the battery was 100%.

I hold out hope that someone can unpack and build a rooted flash out of this. Otherwise, it's going to be just like the leak in that once you flash it you're left sitting around waiting for someone to do something...anything with it.
Mad props to the OP for putting this up. This should definitely get a ball rolling since we now have the FULL PC10IMG ROM flash version of the newest build/GB available for the G2.
Interesting too - the newest stuff (tp's) in that archive are 7/29/2011 - soooo fresh
Thanks for uploading this file. I updated my G2 last week. Kinda odd the update zip I used was only 73.1 MB and this one is 131.MB almost doubled. What is the differance between the two files. It seemed to update just fine from 2.2 to 2.3.4. Everything is running just smooth. Unless there are files and apps that I might be missing. I might give this a try again. Currently running 2.3.4 unrooted with S-ON. Still waiting for someone who can fully root the OTA 2.3.4 with S-OFF. Anyone know about the update zip that was leaked last week? Should I flash this one instead or keep what I have?

The update.zip is an update from 2.2 to 2.3.4. This PC10IMG.zip is the whole operating system. You can be on the first OS that shipped with the phone (2.2 but before wifi calling) and still use this file. To use the update.zip, you must be running the update that included wifi calling.
PC10IMG.zip will factory reset your phone.
Just like blink said, this is the full system image, the update essentially just includes the updated code not the entire image.
My hope is that this will help the developers intigrate this into their roms.

lulwot? This is THE first I've seen of the PC10IMG - full ROM from the T-Mobile store sdcard update. If there is a rooted flash of this please provide the link. Like yesterday! ROFL
Otherwise, all we have or have had is a rooted franken-build flashable mashup of the OTA and whatever other stuff.
Like I said, if you got a link to the full rooted flash of THIS rom, I'm all ears
Again - huge props to @atlp99 who made good saying he would bring the in-store copy ASAP. Well done!
PS - @atlp99 I saw your thread and it looks like they deleted it. Regrettably unless your posting CM7 crap or some variation of that or some Sense rom, they seem to delete new threads.

No no, what this is is a stock 2.3.4 image created from the PC10IMG that will not overwrite hboot, will not kick you back to stock recovery, will not update your radio and is rooted.
Just flash it with CWM.

Radio from the new update 2.11.605.9

I managed to zip up the new radio from 2.11.605.9 - Baseband: 1.48.00.0930w_3, 0.01.78.0916w_3. I have already flashed on mine to verify it works and DID NOT remove my s-off or root. Just flash like any other radio. Enjoy.
These are safe to flash and simply just the radio files and are in no way associated with removing root or s-off.
Installing this radio update may prompt the 2.11.605.9 OTA - DO NOT ACCEPT/INSTALL THE OTA UNTIL SOMEBODY TEARS IT APART TO DEBLOAT AND OR REMOVES UN-NEEDED FILES. INSTALLING/ACCEPTING THE OTA RIGHT NOW MAY CAUSE YOU TO LOOSE ROOT AND/OR S-OFF.
If anybody wants to host the file go ahead because i dont know how much dropbox will let me get away with.

I don't think it's removing s off. It does sound like the new OTA is being pushed to rom's using the older base though, and obviously if you flash that OTA you'll lose root and s off. In any case, I flashed this on cm7 and I still have s off.
This WILL NOT do anything to your bootloader. I'm running the revolutionary s-off bootloader and have maintained it after flashing this. Ryanmo was just stating that flahing the radio triggered his phone to try to download the ota. Simply abort it and you won't have any problems.
