[Q] Questions about charging tablet - Acer Iconia A500

HI I have a few questions. Anybody know the full time to charge the tablet to 100% capacity? Also I know the amber light means charging, and it turns off when complete. However has anyone else noticed that when it turns off if you press the power button briefly one time it stays lit white. Unplug the charger the light goes off but plug it in and light stays white. Is that normal? Is this a trickle charge mode or something?
Thanks
btw tablet is powered off when charging and not in sleep mode

When mine is done charging, the lite goes white and stays white till I unplug the charger. This is with the a500 turned off and charging though.

See my tablets light is orange when charging and goes out when done, battery is at 100%. I press it once while still pluged in it turns on to white. is the IC charging chip that regulates charging on my tablet out?

What can I do to fix this? (only powers on when plugged into charger)

Long story short after not using my Universal for a while it now has this issue:
Only turns on when plugged into charger
Immediately shuts off when unplugged
When plugged into charger, red charger light is not lit
When plugged into USB, charging light flashes quickly and unit does not power on
I hard reset and no change
Under Settings>Power it shows Main Battery: Unknown
What can I do?
buy a new battery?
Ya that's, of course, what I figured. just making sure this was not a known issue of some sort.
...if the battery I ordered doesn't fix it I'm coming after you for the $2.60 it cost me.
uuu...me so scared
Cheers!
99% it is a battery issue...

Permanent red light when charging, and doesn´t turn on, help!

Hello, I was going to use my prophet after six monts or so.
The battery is fully discharged , I plug it to charge with the wall charger of my htc touch (i don´t have the charger of the prophet). Well, it was charging all night long, and in the monrning, the red light still on...
I tried boot loader, hord reset etc and all I know, and it does´t turn on!
I also tried to plug out battery for some hours and try to turn on...anything works.
and, if I connect the prophet whitout battery, the red light turns on.
What can I do? Battery have 5V, It´s charged i think...
thanks a lot!
had similar problem, but if you can turn on your prophet when its charging and only boot screen appears-change the battery!
I can´t turn on at all...
The only idea that I have is put the 5v from the ac charger into the s200 directly...
same problem
Did you get a solution for your problem?
Mine does the same.
Stays black, can't power on, no orange light for charging.
I tried a new battery, same problem.
Red light stays on for 5 seconds on power, then also dies.

[Q] Charging A7

I charged my A7 by plugging in the AC adapter.
When I returned, I thought I would see the green LED light on the left side of the A7 showing. However, the light was out (not showing).
Does the green LED light show for a while when it is fully charged and then turns off?
When I turned on the A7 I noticed that the battery statues was 100%.
I don't know if the (orange) light ever did turn green because, as I said, when I returned, the light was out.
Did anyone else have the same experience, where the LED light does eventually turn off after a certain amount of time?
Yep, same case. I think adapter has special schema to monitor charging. This cool feature prevents overload.

Your A7 LED light turns off after the A7 has been fully charged when using the AC adapter?
I got confused because the A7 manual says that when the A7 finishes charging and is fully charged, the LED light turns green.
I don't think that is the case. When charging and A7 is fully charged, the LED light turns off.
Is that what happens to your A7 also, When fully charged with AC adapter, the LED light turns off?

Yes. The light turned off.

When charging the Elocity via AC outlet, I notice the LED power light is ORANGE and then when it is fully charged (supposedly) it starts blinking GREEN.
Other times my grandson has said that when he charges it, the LED is ORANGE, but when it is finished charging (supposedly), the LED light turns off.
Why would it turn GREEN one time when it is fully charged and start blinking? And then the other time the LED will Turn Off when it is fully charged?
Could it have something to do with if the unit was turned ON/OFF when the charging was started?
When the unit is turned on but still charging, the led is amber. At the end of charging the led turns green.
When the unit is turned off but still charging, the led is amber. At the end of charging the led turns off.

The reason for this behavior is the charge circuit for the Li Polymer battery is actually shutting itself off once its stable at 100% charge. Li-poly and Li-ion batteries have a much stricter charging schema than other batteries, they will catch fire or even explode if overcharged/overheated. Here's why your charger shuts off automatically ----> TO PREVENT THIS

blinking red light..

I was playing some games.. phone crashed. Now when i plug in the power the LED just flashes RED. Can't boot. I can still get into the bootloader but thats it.
I am rooted, unlocked, etc... am ****ting my pants right now. Any tips guys. Searched around the threads not sure what to do ? Maybe restore and RMA...:crying::crying:
actually now i cant even access fastboot... it shows for a split second and crashes out to blinking red LED
plug it in the wall, keep it ther for 10 minutes or so, then try to turn it on again.
This happens when your battery is literally out of charge.
Let it charge, the phone's entered the trickle charge mode because the battery is low. It may not recover and if it doesn't it means the battery is having an issue. From my reading of red light issues the solutions have been: let it charge because the battery is to low, it shorted so unplug and replug the battery, or to rma it cause the battery died.
Sorry guys skipped a boatload of details.... yeah the phone is charged...
I was playing games off the wall charger, believe me it has plenty of power. The light is blinking red can't do anything, no power up.
Either RMA or take the phone apart, disconnect the battery wires and reconnect them. There should be a guide somewhere, just look blinking red light of death.
Yup, blinking red led is a trickle charge mode.
Maybe the wall charger did not have enough power. Or the phone decided to discharge anyway.
What I am wondering about: if the phone gets back to life, is it empty or full (as in: switch it on without charging and see if it shuts off quickly).
Potential ways to handle this:
- wireless charger. The wireless charger does not pass through the 'red led' circuit but charges the battery directly.
- leave on trickle charge for a day. To trickle charge, that is supposed to be a slow process I think. Maybe someone can measure the current when it happens.
- unplug and replug the battery. This may reset the charge circuit or something.
- hold the power button down for 10 seconds. This will electronically disconnect the battery (but I do not know if it is a place that makes a difference).
