LauncherPro seems to crash frequently on my DroidPro with GB. I didn't notice it for a while because it doesn't produce a force close or a "send report" prompt. Instead it goes through a similar process as when LauncherPro asks to restart when you change a setting, where all the icons, widgets, and app locker have to be reloaded. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?
its working fine for me.
Thanks for the reply, how would I go about finding out if there is an app conflict with LauncherPro?

Large widgets seem to make my Launcher FC.
Anyone have widgets that take up the entire screen? or half screen?
After a few minutes of the phone being off, if I try to move the large, even to just delete it off the screen, I get a force close.
Anyone else getting a FC?
Make sure the widgets you're using are fully compatible with Android 2.1. Does this only occur when you are using widgets?
Anyone with over 60 apps/widgets?
can't really put my finger on it. I wiped and started all over. I did things little by little and everything was great, until I put on a calander widget. I took that one out and it was back to normal. Now I just finished installing a bunch of free apps from the market (non widgets) and just got a force close with the phone just sitting around, then I clicked on my photo widget (a slide show widget that takes up the entire screen) and got an immediate force close as well. I've deleted a bunch of apps, and I am down to about 58 apps and no force closes.
I've got about 51 apps and no more force closes so far.
Too many apps maybe? anyone else have 5 screens worth of widgets and icons, with over 60 apps, getting any force close while trying to move a widget? or just FC in general?
No one with a launcher force closing on them?
Use the facebook app. sign in and everything and place the widget on one of your screens (mine is on the last to the left) then turn off the screen for a few minutes. When you wake your phone up and try to move the widget, the launcher should force close.
Mine is consistantly doing it now. It seems widget 2x4 and up give me the same problem.
Anyone else?
Yes there are 2 threads, this one was started before I figured out the why, the other is regarding the why. I'm just updating this one to be on the same page, hopefully this is an isolated incident with my phone that just needs some TLC to fix and not an android bug...

it seems like a bug. see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=613835
This just recently started happening and its so fkin annoying, for some reason when I come out of other applications by pressing home button the screen comes up black with only my wallpaper and seems to load all icons which takes 6-7 seconds. Anyone else experiencing this?
This always happens when I come out of the music player and web browser other applications too but these 2 are confirmed.
What launcher are you using? It might be caused by the launcher being terminated by the system and then having to launch "on demand" again (hence the delay). You might check to see if the launcher has a option to "keep in memory" or some such. I have seen this before on other phones and it was the launcher.
^ is correct. Odd that this is happening though. Do you have a ton going on? Find the feature to keep in memory as suggested. I use ADW EX and this has never happened. If I switch back and forth between launchers it will (obviously).
Are you using a task killer that is killing your launcher? I agreed with the above, it sounds like a laucher problem
Use the back button to exit out of apps when you are done. You are probably running out of memory from opening too many things and the system is killing the launcher.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
It sounds like something is killing the launcher. Make sure that you aren't using to much RAM, because the system will kill your launcher if you don't have enough RAM for what your doing.
Yesterday i turned on my iconia and all the Widgets were gone off the home screens. The app shortcuts were still there but no Widgets. Also noticed my YouTube widget is a 1x4 now and looks funky. Anybody else have this issue? Is it the iconia or honeycomb?
YES
I thought it was just me, but everything came up "problem loading widget."
I am using ADW launcher EX and just blamed it on that. What about you?
I lost mine when I did the upgrade, but no issues since.
I am having issues where the widgets disappear and a 'Loading' message appears; the only way to fix it is to do a reboot.
I'm using the stock launcher. I didn't even have a loading message. Widgets just disappeared. Tried rebooting several times but that didnt work. I ended up reinstalling all the widgets yesterday and everything seems to be alright now. Also my YouTube widget is back to a 3x2 so that's good. I dunno seems like a honeycomb bug or something.
I had the same problem.
Suddenly the widgets were gone, each of them replaced by a grey icon saying "error loading widget".
Rebooting several times didn't fix that.
I use adw es too and i noticed that if i switched to the stock launcher the widget worked but returning again to adw they were still missing.
I had to remove the widgets and reload them.
I think it' related to Adw.
Sorry for my poor english.
I've had the issue as well. When I added the Music (official Google app) icon to the home screen they all reappeared. Likely just adding any icon to the home screen will bring them back up.

Problem loading widget is an ADW error, likely. I've had it before, usually if I do a wipe then restore my desktop settings via ADW and the widget isn't available.
Now, with know that error is due to the widget not being found, it definitely appears like the Iconia is for some reason not loading the widget, like it can't find them in the system or something. Hope this one gets addressed.
Hi.
I noticed that my Fancy Widget and other clock-widgets doesnt update anymore when i open apps, documents or other services. Example:
Clock shows 19:21, Widgets shows 19:21. As long as my phone stays on one of the 5 homescreens, the time updates as usual. But when i open an app (browser, mail, gallery, or any other app) or game and return to my homescreen i can see the time didnt update since i opened the app or game. Lets say i open my browser 19:22, i visit some websites, and switch back to my homescreen 5 minutes later (19:27), the widget didnt update the time within these 5 minutes. When i stay on the homescreen and wait for next minute, the widget updates the time correct.
Whats wrong?
I dont have any task-killers installed. I have 2.3.3 rooted. I didnt remove any bloatware.
I take it you haven't moved the app to the SD either?
What app you mean? Widgets cant be moved to SD, because they wont work when placed on SD.
Are you using SE launcher or a 3rd party one? Try installing https://market.android.com/details?id=com.th.android.widget.gTabsimiClock&feature=search_result and see if its the same. I am using that clock/weather/battery widget with no problems.
I am using SE Launcher again. I used ADW Launcher EX, but got to many errors, so i went back to my stock SE Launcher.
Edit: I tried simiClock, it happens too. It doesnt matter what clock-widget i am using. It doesnt refresh/update when apps/games are running and i switch back to the homescreen.
Most clocks do not update if you have moved them to the SD card.
Make sure it is installed on the phone.
My stock weather widget never updates the location in the background, only when launching it manually will it update on the home screen.
@dsswoosh
As i posted just before....clocks/widgets dont work at all when moved to SD. I install all my widgets on the phone!!

You mean Go launcher ex? try launcher pro, i have tried Go launcher ex, Adw and launcher pro and cannot seem to replicate the problems you are describing, also not had any errors or force closes on any. Do the clock widgets that come with SE launcher do the same? or just 3rd party clock widgets you install? If the stock clocks dont work then maybe reinstalling the fw will fix it.
I tried ADW Launcher EX again (yes, its ADW EX ). Time updates in the background as it should. It seems that its only an SE-Launcher issue. Can someone try?
Maybe it is always like this and i never noticed this before while using the stock SE Launcher?! I think i can live with it, but maybe there is a way to fix it without using a different launcher?

Indeed your right its ADW Launcher EX ive always just called it adw. Well using the stock SE launcher my clock widgets update in the background so im guessing its a problem with your SE launcher. Possibly reinstalling the fw will fix the SE launchers bug? Worth a try i suppose.
I've been experiencing this on my Xperia Arc too. It has nothing to do with launchers or task killers in my case (I use neither). I have been able to reproduce it three times:
1. after a week using my Arc, I noticed a new clock widget wasn't updating except when foregrounded, and not until the next minute ticked over. I also noticed a weather widget wouldn't update reliably.
2. after two months without a solution, i completely reset the phone. All good. While playing a game, I received a call. Afterwards, the above widget types wouldn't refresh except as above.
I deleted an unrelated widget because I didn't need it, and (perhaps coincidentally) the other widgets started refreshing properly.
3. a week later, I received a call while using the calendar app. Widgets no longer refresh, except as above. I haven't been able to find a fix this time. Tested widgets like the stock digital clock shows the same problem.
So for me it looks like the common thread is an incoming call while using an app. I would guess this must be happening to a few other people, as it's the same symptoms as the OP described.
If u hav installed beautiful widgets then..
Well after lots of trial and error.. the only solution i found is..
1. uninstall beautiful widgets animation
2. clear data beautiful widgets from settings - apps - beautiful widgets
3. uninstall beautiful widgets..
Living without beautiful widgets is better than facing that refresh problem..
Hi all. I have encountered a bug on the stock launcher, where you launch the app from the drawer and after using the app, you exit and return to the drawer, the drawer is blank and only has the home icon...
Mostly happen when I return from memory intensive apps like modern combat 2
Sent from my Nexus S
Don't know the reason for this, but used to happen to me as well.
I'm assuming you're rooted and are running a CM7 based ROM, so just go to CyanogenMod settings -> Performance -> Lock home in memory.
I got the same thing going on too sometimes. In addition, sometimes when I exit an app the home screen(s) are blank -with just my background & nothing else. It acts exactly like the blank app drawer does. Everything returns after a few seconds though. I'm maybe thinking that it has something to do with low available RAM??
I'm not rooted, stock 2.3.4
I might be going the rooted route here soon to try & resolve this issue, along with my reboot issue during calls.
The launcher is being killed from ram (memory) because the application you are using is requiring too much.
Like the other poster said you can check "keep launcher in memory" in some roms and also in launcher settings for some launchers. This however is not a full guarantee that it will not be purged.

I'm seeing this as well. A reboot tends to clear it up for a while but it eventually starts happening again after a few days to a week. Stock 2.3.4 i9020T.
