Fission is BACK! - Droid X General

Check out there site:
TeamDefuse

I can only wonder if Angdroid is really going to backup what he said in that post. I also wonder if he is planning on using 2ndinit to make an actual AOSP rom or an AOSP-like rom, as the previous fission builds were.
If this proves worthy I could actually consider the new fission rom as a daily driver.

From what I read he's "supposed" to use the 2nd init but who knows. I cant believe there hasnt been any custom AOSP Roms. I know Jrummy is almost done with one but I thought we would have a bunch of AOSP Roms by now.

Closest Rom to AOSP?

Hey guys im wondering what ROM is closest to pure aosp for the fascinate?
Thanks
Retro kids has some nice themes that you can slap on your rom of choice. As of now, that's as close as you are going to get.
JT's clean ROM with RetroKid's AOSP theme.

tried to install it but i never get past the SAMSUNG screen.
Is there a special way to install it?
and im not talking about the MAGIC aosp rom because thats still built on touchwiz so it seems from photos.
Did you get it from IRC? That's where it is. Also, it is very buggy, and the phone doesn't work.

that is a no radio/data with the 11/11 that some have stumbled upon in the rom manager manifest
Which version are you running because there are two different themes for each version. For the i01, check out my aosp request in the themes. Retrokid has instructions on how to install theme. For the version that doesn't really exist, his ultimate aosp theme is what you should look for.

[Q] - Just bought Wildfire

Please bare with me.
I just bought Wildfire White. It's on the way to me. It will have 2.1 pre-installed.
What should I do first?
- I want to have one of these custom ROMs (which one is best?)

I want it to be OC-able. I hear that I need custom kernel for that. Well what do I have to do to get custom kernel.
Is there some guide that will tell me all this?
I would not.reccomend the first one (cm7) since it is not even alpha
if you like htc sense go for the new wildpuzzle not the chinese one
if you dont like sense go for cm6 but make sure to flash the maps and market file as well
note thease files may break your device.rendering it useless. You are responsible for your actions. This will also void your warantee. If you dont want that to happen then use the 2.2 ota but you will not be able to root or flash a custom rom. If in doubt stay on 2.1

lol, Dont scare him.
Well, first and foremost, I would recommend you read this guide completely:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824396
After that, when you have rooted your phone, you can decide on the Custom ROM yourself. They are broadly categorized into 2 categories : Sense ROMs and Non-Sense ROM's/ (Sense is the default HTC UI). Then, you have to decide whether you want a Sense ROM or one without it, and, go about it accordingly. (Generally, Non-Sense ROMs are faster, since Sense requires a lot of processing power)
As for CM7, even though it is Alpha, I would recommend you try it out. I am using it as a daily use ROM, and, its perfectly fine.
I'm currently using cm7 night release 0. I think. Its great. There are a few bugs but nothing. That effects the phone at user level.

cm7 is great!!! the nightlies work perfectly ;D, very good for what you call an 'alpha' release ahahaha, and why stay on eclair or froyo, when you can have some gingerbread action
Still i would rather wait for a beta or rc release

CM7 Nightly 0 is almost perfect, pretty much everything works
Its personal taste anyway im stuck whith hboot 1.01 and am now wanting to try cm7 fail on my part

Would recomend de_version_4.a but then again that's my Rom lol

first of all root your new toy
after that, you should play with your phone till you run-down.

Try CM7 nighty build, i rooted my phone this month itself and the first ROM i ever put was the CM7 ROM and trust me i havent even looked around for other Custom ROMs, its fast, looks very good and all apps work on em..
Cheers, btw dont forget to read Turkey's Guide to Rooting..
OC is not stable,even 4.1.。。
CM7 build 23
so yea i figured out everything im not big fan of alpha roms so ill stick to sense roms for a while. i will surely move on to cyanogen mod later
i'm using cm nightly build 21. working just fine.
there was an issue in 18 but 21 is just fine. i have tried out almost all of roms for wildfire, and i found CM 7 to b the best of all.
No... I'd recommend wildpuzzle v0.8 first to get comfortable with first since it has all the capabilities of overclocking is stable although not recommended to wildly over the 700mhz mark and everything else.
Gingerbread is a big and not stable yet a little complicated to setup.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
i'm loving my wildpuzzle v.08,overclocked and super stable, i like sense too much
Cm 7 is very good I can confirm this. I am using build 16, everything works fine but I found it unstable overclocked over 700 on my wildfire.

Reminder dont update to official 2.2 (Froyo)
or u will not be able to flash any custom rom like me

Fission rom manager question.

Idk if this is a dumd question, but I have fission rom manager lite installed on my phone, n I was reading another forum n it said I can donate and ill get a link to the full version. Does anybodu know the difference between lite and full version? Also how do I donate to get the full one?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Angdroid had released a newer version in the ROM manager that had one small fix. Otherwise, there's not much of a difference if I remember correctly. Honestly though, Fission development is done (developer moved on). I would choose a different ROM if I were you. Liberty, Apex, or even the fresh CM7 that cvpcs is working on are all GB-based and have more promise than Fission does in its current state.
Ooooooooo, ok lol thanx ill deff check one of those out
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Where can i find info on iincluding a dl for apex? Ive seen people mention it in some forums but i havent seen it available for dl, idk mabye i just missed the post. Also which rom is the best in ur opinion? Theres not really alot of roms too choose from with the dx is there? Lol i used to have a hd2 runnin android, i really miss all the htc sense stuff...i wish there was a sense like rom

Newb Needing Rom Recommendations

Hi, I'm fairly new to the whole rooting Android and custom roms but I've got the basics down. I'm just wanting to know some good custom roms that are pretty much stock roms but with extras in the menus and everything like CM7, also any good rooting apps, etc.

Lot of people from florida for some reason. I can suggest a CM7 or if you want, a sense 3.0 rom. You really just have to go through the roms yourself and find one that you like personally.
I'm currently using CM 7.1 but have tried OMGB, MiKG, Fresh, and most of them I've just reverted back to the stock because certain main features don't work well etc. I've also tried a few not listed on Rom Manager by Clockwork Mod but half of them don't install properly or just work great on the EVO.
A tidbit of advice: Get rid of rom manager, if you want I can link you to my thread where I have a script to flash Amon_ra for you and everything. Rom manager and CWM are terrible on the Evo. So if you want that let me know.
Anyway, there will be bugs and you might just like AOSP in which case, stick with CM7 (I use 7.0.3.1 just because of the battery drain issues I heard about from CM7.1
Alright, let me get that link and I'll check it out.
link is here
ROM Manager and CWM work just fine on my EVO. I've never had a problem with a ROM or backup or anything with either of them. I don't use ROM Manager to flash new ROMs, but I do use it to download MIUI updates. Don't necessarily take one person's opinion as a definite. Don't use ROM Manager to install ROMs though, that will most likely give you problems. Do it the old-fashioned way.

Yes, but only after 1.8.19, which I just upgraded to...I was sticking with 1.8.5 for a while b/c it was very stable on my phone. But yes, you can upgrade now without using ROM Manager.
You can't go wrong with deck rom

HTC Wildfire Custom ROMS

I'm running Cyanogenmod 7.0.3, but I don't really like it. If one exists, can someone post a link to a custom ROM that is based on gingerbread with an updated HTC Sense on it?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
There's just one, and its incomplete:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269485
For daily use ones, you will have to look at Froyo Sense ROMs. Listing here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
Yeah as 3xeno said there is only one and it's not complete, I tried it and it was pretty useless as SN everyday rom. Try wildpuzzle (its 2.2) but it's a very good sense rom
