I would assume it's within the framework so extracting an apk wouldn't do a thing, but I could be wrong.
I wish that feature was in CM7 though.

is should be on every rom. I don't know how the world gets by without that feature.

I think this feature was added in the newest cm7 nightlies.

lol, i dont understand what your looking for. do you want a stock rom with sense like you had when you got the phone but rooted? or do you want a senseless rom like cm7? now i've seen the term STOCK tossed around.
I think he's looking for a true aosp rom that's just google code with it modified to work for the shift... I came from a hero recently and we had a true aosp rom with no frill like you would have found on a nexus one. It was great... fastest thing in the world... like doing a clean install of windows xp or 7... I too wish to see one on the shift... I know evervolv is aosp but its modified with themes and tweaks but its as close as we have I think...
I think as the phone picks up some development someone will put out a true aosp rom... just give it time?
Would love to see the full potential of this phone with just an os though

Use Unity kernel v5, kernel from the ROM, or use TheDerekjay's demonspeed kernel for sense. I don't use virtuous but those are you main options, and Faux has a sense kernel, but you'll have to search to find it.
Running the ROM as is. It's speedy, more than enough.

also you should just tap the post you want to thank, and it will bring it up, not long press, my bad
also, i am not sure if it is available via the free xda app, but i always try to support the devs of my most used apps, so the .99 for the premium is well worth it!!!

You're welcome. Did you get it worked out? There is a link for the site where you can download the free 4Ext app. Once the app is installed let it update and then download the newest RC (release candidate) of the recovery. Then flash the recovery and reboot into that baby! It has options for converting your filesystem. If you are on MIUI you're probably good already, but it doesn't hurt to check.

Juice defender works by turning off mobile data when the phone is asleep, among other things. It will turn data back on at certain intervals to allow emails, mms, and what-have-you. Juice defender ultimate gives you supreme authority over every detail of the profile. Its a good app, and it works. I used to get annoyed by the few extra seconds of waiting for data when I woke my phone up, but other than that its great. It does make a difference on the battery.

This visually bothers me in 2 threads already.
EXT4 is NOT an abbreviation for "extension 4". EXT4 is "4th extended file system".
Please stop calling it wrong, it's annoying, and it's especially annoying that people reply to you with correct name and you won't get the hint. Thank you.

Firstly, you're more than entitled to your opinion! But there's no need to respond in such a way. To be honest I could care less about what you feel is correct or incorrect because obviously these guys understood what I was asking and helped me along until I got everything right. Its ok to correct to someone but there are ways of going about doing it. So next time respond accordingly and stay in line because a simple correction would've sufficed!

[Q] MIUI v4?

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but I scrolled down through the q&a for about 2 minutes and saw nothing related.
Anyways, is anybody working on an MIUI rom based on ICS? You know, MIUI v4? I saw one a while back but can't seem to find it now but it had no camera so I was just wondering, is anyone going to make a new one with a working cam? I don't mean to pressure anyone, and I'm not asking for ETA, I'm just curious

He probably means cam fix, whenever I was trying to make the cam work I had to change perms in the ramdisk and a bunch of libs and sometimes it wouldn't boot so that may be the issue since miui is just a framework overhaul

Opinions of stable ROM.

Stock is the only rom with absolutely EVERYTHING working. You could try TDJ's Darkside Sense.

I'm using Dark JellyBelly, and I've found it works great. I don't see any significant problems with it. There are a couple of relativel minor ones, but nothing significant. You can read more here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716558
To get good call quality, you will need to flash the low-volume fix after you install DJB. That's easily done. It's found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24008900&postcount=531
The biggest issue I have with the ROM is that the wifi hotspot doesn't turn on from the stock control. You'll need to download Wifi Tether from the Play Market to make that work (and set it up as a Nexus One, FYI). If you can flash the volume fix, and work with that wifi issue, this ROM is excellent.
Good luck
-Dan
oh so you want stable? Stay on Gingerbread.
Sense: Android Revolution HD
AOSP: Cyanogenmod 7
you can't go wrong with these two ROMs, if you want stability with everything smooth and working, stay away from ICS or JB.
ICS is smooth and stable now.
