Update received - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

I just received a 4 mb update after having the tab for almost two weeks, im not sure what it was probably just a maintenance update. Does anyone happen to know exactly what it was?
Sent from my Galaxy tab 10.1 using XDA Premium App

Go to settings and see what firmware version you have?

probably preparing for the next big push:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/03/galaxy-tab-10-1-update-coming-soon-ushers-touchwiz-into-the-hon/
And when you get it let us know your impressions, lots of people like myself are still sitting on the fence.

i didn't receive anything yet waitingfor touchwiz for trying it only

just did the update manually myself. Its a 4.14mb file. It reboots and installs (something). When the tab finally finishes the install and reboots it tells you its updated to build # (??? The message cleared too fast for me to catch it) it starts with a "P" though.

Goto Apps -> Settings -> About Tablet - You'll see the system details towards the bottom

The big question is will it take the ability to root away?

Build# P7510UEKF3

That's the build mine came with apparently as I haves not updated mine but it shows that build already.

Hmm dunno. I never checked build b4 the update. Still have no clue what it updated either. If anyone else is willing to test just do the update in settings/about/system updates
Btw im not rooted either

Were you rooted before? And if so did the update remove root?

I was rooted before and I'm still rooted after the update. The only problem I'm having is that my Market Enabler no longer loads at boot so I can get paid apps.

hi there, did u sign up thru About tablet -> System updates or you registered from Samsung website first then sign in thru System updates?
I tried both but still unable to get my device signed in for any updates. While signing up i got account already exist but when i try signing in i got wrong password. Then i tried to sign up thru Samsung website (US), i was able to sign up for an account and after that, i retry signin thru device but still got the same problem!
can anyone give me so hint / help with the sign in / up?
Tks in advance!
C

I just went through settings, about tablet, system update. I was registered with Samsung first but I'm not sure if that matters or not.

For those with a 10.1v - you're missing the Samsung Account option in Apps -> Accounts -> Add Account - so any samsung updates have to come from another source.

Bell Atrix Gingerbread OTA available!

Yes it's finally here!
Oooooh, someone install it and get a cwm backup =P
I've tried rebooting and going to Settings -> About Phone -> System updates, but neither way gives an update notification. Is there any other way to bump the update, or do I just have to wait until Bell decides I get to download it?

I went in my settings/About phone/system updates
and it says : '' Your Device Is Up To Date ! No update is necessary at this time. ''
Hum.. Maybe it's because I live in Montreal ''?'' they have to translate everything...
Well, I hope I'll have the notification soon.. !!
Im trying to download it over the bell network and its been 1:30hours and im only at 90% Use your wireless boys if you can..
Nothing for me yet.
Nothing in Calgary yet
How big is it ?? Just wondering, because if its available tonight ( and small enough ), I'll try over 3G. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until tomorrow. This time, I plan on making a copy of it. Here's the link for those that need it.

After installing this, you should be able to unlock the bootloader and do pretty anything you like to the phone. Unless Bell went out of their way to modify the Motorola code and *not unlock* the bootloader. In which case we're all screwed.
Ok. I got the update screen at about 3:30PM. I'm in Newfoundland by the way, so of course that's Newfoundland time.
I was rooted and had a number of apps frozen in Titanium, so I defrosted all system apps and used Gingerbreak to unroot (which is what I used to root).
I downloaded root checker and it says I no longer have root.
I took a screen shot of the update screen, which tells me the update is 145.7MB. (see attached).
I'm about to head out for an hour, but am going to click Download and let it run while I'm gone.
Does anyone think I should take any additional precautions before installing? (Given that I was rooted and had apps frozen.)
Is there anything I do to help the user community here? I'm fairly technically capable, but not a lot of experience with Android. I could follow a decent walk-through though.

That's weird because I m in montreal and I called Bell.
They said that they have no news about updates beside the one in june !
They then transfered me to motorola directly and even they said the update is not ready yet !!
It should come out soon but it s not now !!!!!
Hi,
Did anyone manage to capture the zip file yet?
Cheers!
Is there any difference in this build versus the Orange France version?

AT&T SGH-I467 OTA Update I467UCAMF2

Hey everyone. I just got an OTA update for my Note 8.0 LTE (AT&T). It's a small update (16.3MB). The new firmware build is I467UCAMF2. This is probably just a bugfix update but OTAs are almost always a good thing.

Yeah got it this morning... was hoping it would fix the screen from becoming unresponsive. Did not fix it

OK so allow me to translate that into English:
"Because we're A, T and f***ing T, we decided to make Samsung replace Google's normal Android setup app with our own called AT&T Ready2Go. The problem is, again because we're A, T and f***ing T, our app sucks. If you have two-step verification enabled on your Google account, you won't be able to sign into your Google account during setup with AT&T Ready2Go. I guess we underestimated how many people actually have it turned on, so oops! Our bad. Here, it's enabled. Happy now?"
I manually updated a couple of hours ago. After playing around with the Note 8 with the update for about an hour I no longer experience the screen stutter/freeze/pause/etc. issue. I hope this in fact is fixed, but so far so good.

I'm still getting the unresponsive screen issue post-update. I've thought about doing a reset, but haven't actually done it yet.
Would be nice if someone had the OTA zip, as it is possible a root could be made from it if the right images are included.

A little of both. The bootloader is encrypted and locked on the AT&T model, but also, very few of us on XDA actually have one. Let's be real. People around here thumb their noses at tablets with an LTE connection a lot of times. They just have no hipster cred in the Android geek community. The in crowd just buys a WiFi-only tablet and tethers it to their phone. It's the geekier thing to do, even if it's a pain in the @$$. You can talk about why LTE tablets are useful until you're blue in the face but it falls on deaf ears more often than not.
Unfortunately, I'm not very optimistic that we'll ever see root unless there comes a time where the WiFi-only root method works on the AT&T model.

Is it encrypted? I got this tablet 2nd hand and I may never even put service on it. If I can't root it, I'll probably trade it for a wifi version. I know AT&T and Verizon pushed an OTA to the S4's that prevented root. Luckily I was rooted/rom'ed prior to that. My GN8 doesn't have the latest OTA. I'm still hopeful for root and unlock/simunlock so I can grab a pre-paid card for this tab.

S4 Keeps downloading Software Updates when Auto Updating is Unchecked

You know....I am soooooo fed up with this!!! and I need help.
I have auto-updating turned OFF and software scheduling updates OFF, and then now, I just connected to my Wifi connection and my phone started to download a 350MB software update bundle even though every AUTO Checking of Software Updates are TURNED OFF. I dont know why its still downloading updates when I have all of these disabled to automatically check for updates.
Please see print screens.
I DO NOT want ANY software updates to be downloaded especially I dont even know what updates they are.
Please help me on this. I want this to be disabled.
Just sick of this!!!!! I mean really....
Now, I do not really know what this 300MB update bundle was, but it wasnt the Android 4.3 update as I just checked.
I have no clue whatsoever on what updates were installed.
How can I check what updates were installed?
Thanks

My phone is not ROOTED.
Can you post screenshots of this please on where I can find this in order to disable this?
I want to disable auto-updates because Im afraid it might "break" things.
Thanks, I would appreciate some print screens.
Will Android version 4.3 be downloaded automatically as well?
Now that, I will not mind if 4.3 would be installed automatically since I heard that should fix the "lag" issue on the screen on most S4 phones.

Since your phone is factory stock an update wont break things.
Samsung updates are not to be feared.
And the updates. Dont waste space... as the software gets refines you get more.
I now have 9.1 gigs when I use to have 8giga when I just got the phone
Samsung is optimizing the software and it is getting slimmer.
Updates do not waste space.
So relax... it sounds like this is your first Samsung flagship.

You will get 4.3 automatically if you leave the software update feature on.
Samsung update services are decent.
For example the Samsung Galaxy S2 was updated to 4.1.2 via OTA even tho it is considered an old phone from the Gingerbread 2.3.4 - 2.3.6 era. (FEB 2011)

Yes.
But my advice... leave auto update on.
If you tap the check for updates button you may see an update but it wont download because the update server space is full.
Your fear is understood but unnecessary.
Its best to let it download by itself over wifi.
When it is done it will ask you if you want to update... it will not reboot your phone without you knowing.... nor will it install new software without you knowing.

Sorry, but one more last question. I tend to turn off my WiFi on my S4 most of the time even when I am at home.
Now I enabled the Auto Updates as you recommended. But as most of the time, I have the WiFi OFF and only enable it when I need to.
Will that be OK for the updates?

3G strains the battery much more than wifi bro, leave wifi on if you can for better battery life. OTA`s can be downloaded on 3G but wifi is cheaper and faster. 4.3 isn`t out yet, will take another 2-3 months for the official one, leaks may come earlier.

As the user above says.
Leave wifi on for better battery life when you are at home.
If you turn off wifi and do not want the phone connected to the internet make sure you turn off mobile data as well.
With your internet service off: The update will just take longer. I am not sure the updater service downloads the data in pieces as a torrent client or download manager would do.
So its best to leave it on... go to sleep and wake up to see the notification that the update has been downloaded and ready for installation.

If you have problems after update, you can make factory reset, which will erase all personal data from the phone and fix the errors, keeping you with the lastest firmware. Now you can go to application manager/all apps and find SoftwareUpdate. Disable it and I think, you wont be able to update before enabling it again. No root needed to do this.

No you can't roll back as you would on a PC from the phone itself.
What you will have to do is download the version of firmware you want and like and use a PC based software called ODIN to re-flash the phone.
If you do this you can keep your old settings (it wont wipe your personal data) and "roll back" to a version you preffer.
However updates seldom if ever break things in my region. I do not know about other regions.
For example: I keep my S4 STOCK STOCK STOCK so I have never had the need to roll back any update.. and nothing so far has broken in the 4 updates I have received over wifi.
Other people may have other experiences, possibly bad ones with apps crashing or the phone being slow.
So what they normally do in such a negative case is a Factory reset.
A factory reset will have the new firmware but it removes all your settings and downloaded apps and presents the phone as if it just came from the factory.
Your settings and apps will then be reloaded once you log into Google and / or your Samsung account.
So relatively speaking it is not a major hassle.

Not showing up for me, do you happen to be in the UK? I read that the beta opens up for US users later this week.

I went completely stock today to ensure there wouldn't be any issues. After it downloaded the November security update,I manually checked to see if yjete was another uodate, and the beta was waiting to download.
Maybe any of you guys can root after downloading update and share the ota file with others.. Only if rooting doesnt delete any user data..
Registered but not seeing the update.

Once it's pulled from the device it doesn't seem to work. People have tried to.
This is very fluid and stable great beta. Can't wait till official. No problems at all. It was mentioned that GEAR VR is not supported but it updated mine and no overheat runs perfect

Samsung Urgent Update?

I just received an urgent update from Samsung for Device Quality Agent. I had to quickly attend to something else, returned to my phone and the option to update was gone. I've gone into the Galaxy Apps and went to updates and there was nothing there. Is there a way to get it back?
Might be the update for the red-tint issue they were talking about. I am sure we will see more about this soon.

I'm on T-Mobile. Here's a link from SamMobile about the update. https://www.sammobile.com/2017/04/2...-agent-error-fixed-in-urgent-software-update/
I received it but after the screen on the phone turned off and I woke it back it, the update was gone.

Still haven't gotten the update on Verizon. The DQA errors are really obnoxious! Any idea how to get this fix? Have tried checking for updates in system menu, and in the galaxy apps update section.
Got the update this morning and had to do a reboot cause it started messing with my iris scanning and other apps.

Yeah I have Verizon also, no love. This was killing me. I downloaded and install the updated APK manually. I can't post links. Go to APKMirror and search for DQA. The right version is 1-1-13-10. Resolved all my errors.
Make sure you enable Unknown Sources in Lock Screen and Security.

Thanks! I read some people rebooted and got it, so gave that a shot, and sure enough, it came in instantly when it powered back up. That might help some others too.
For sure it had at least something to do with Bixby. Went from having to double push Bixby button to single push to get Bixby to open.
