How to overclock the desire?

Hi,
i read somwhere that you can use a "extra ram kernel" and a oc widget, but i dont know how and where...
can somone help me?

can't be dont on the desire yet, only on other rooted phones shuch as the nexus that have peshoots kernal which would let you overclock to 1.1ghz.
We will have to wait untill we have full root for the desire or untill the kernal source is released by HTC to get this baby working on our semi rooted phones

Because it's a port from an SDK and it won't ever run right. Not worth really messing with until source is out.

They did the same thing with gingerbread and now its fully working

Initially, they did the port and it was crazy slow and plenty of things didn't work. They did get it to run faster and make most things work, but it was no where near as fast as it is now. That's because they built it from source, optimized for devices.

Im aware just sayin ya never know what will happen

I'm really starting to get tired of this. If Samsung is going to continue prolonging the wait for official GB they should at least throw us a bone and give us kernel source.

Most have said it is the modem.
Even if it was the kernel, it would still help our devs with adding CM7/MIUI support.

I agree and as long as SamFirmware keeps up the great job then we can enjoy practice roms till we get official GB.... personally I don't wanna run cm7 because I like to support local projects but that's just me.....

Its says the modem was messed up from the start! They are trying to fix it thru software!
Oh, and someone needs to alert samsfirmware!

Yeah but idk I just like to see what our devs can do with samsprints updates..... sorry to go off topic but why didn't we ever build cm6.... I know we would have only used it for a couple months but it seems like it would've been good practice for cm7 possibly cm8(yeah right lol)?

Biffmod FTW! I used it on my HTC Magic 32B back in the day.
I know that the same dev is now working on the i9000,Captivate, Vibrant and fascinate. Maybe he'll work on ours as well when we get CM7 working.

It doesn't matter what version is built. Were (cm team) always stuck and its the same stuff not working.
We need our hardware driver souce.

I just checked the miui install stats and it listed 1 install for the Olympus, looks like a miui port may not be far off

Could be another Olympus. I remember something similar to this for CM7 before we had it but it wasn't our phones though. I hope this for the Atrix though!

I believe that one was actually our phone. If you check CM stats now, that olympus is almost to like 800 installs (was at 15 when the rumors started).

Perhaps... unfortunately only 1 install doesn't say much...
I dunno when this install happened though! If it was recent, that changes things

I do MIUI for Droid X/Droid2.
It is kind of difficult to work on without a device, please consider donating.

Where can one get the source code? I've yet to locate it and everything I have found so far says that miui hasn't released the source code. Are you porting it from another devices rom or from source?

I think we still have some money left over from that 'unlock bootloader bounty' that we had going... We just need to contact the guy in control of the paypal account.

Site is currently down I'm sure he's working on it but from what I saw it looks really good.

His miui kernel is amazing! Best battery life I've gotten with -50 all the way and the setting in my sig. no need to oc

I just downloaded his latest CM9 kernel off his website.. Seems nice and smooth, I just need to see if my phone will deep sleep. Last kernel would not allow it.

I am using shadow now...on cm7. While not as flashy and fancy its getting the job done. 21 hours on battery, 3:38 screen on time, oc to 1200. Not as good as my times on samurai, but pretty close.

Lovely kernels. Fyi 2.19 CM9 kernel is the same one that was posted before his thread closed... for me, it prevented Deep Sleep, so make sure that your phone is sleeping before you use it, or you might have a dead phone mid-day Hopefully the next version fixes it.
