Non booting Vega issue - Vega General

Hi guys, I'm having a strange issue with my Vega.
I tried to boot it into Slave mode, and it went to a backlit screen with no logo's.
Now it won't boot.
I've tried holding the power button down, and I've tried getting to recovery.
I can get to recovery, and reflash the stock 1.10 Firmware and then install CWM and the market addon from here, reboot and it's exactly the same. Black screen.
I've tried reflashing it, going into CWM and repartitioning the SD card, and that makes no difference either.

I have had that problem with a old version of clockwork mod. Which version of CWM are you installing and how?

[Q] Apparently I screwed up. SOLVED!

I have my nook rooted and all of that and for some reason I decided to wipe the thing clean in CWM recovery and now it won't boot to anything unless I boot from SD. I've tried booting into a rom from SD and installing CWM recovery again through rom manager and it says that is has flashed successfully but when I tell it to restart it goes back to the rom on the SD of course, so I tried taking the SD out and holding down the N and booting into recovery and I get nothing no loading screen no nothing, am I not getting CWM installed? Is there a zip I can flash from CWM on SD to flash it?
EDIT!!!!! If i had remembered to format the right things then I wouldn't have had an issue.
If you are having the problem described above remember to format BOOT, System, and Data. And then flash your rom.
See post#4 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205047
Thank you I don't know what I was thinking, if I had just formated the right things it would have worked just fine, I am a tard sometimes.

[Q] Stuck at "Tattoo" splash, when trying Clockwork.

When i try to restart my phone or just startup my phone in recorvery, it gets stuck on the "Tattoo" screen.
I've got the Clockwork mod 5.0.20 or something like that installed...
What do i do?
-Bump-
Anyone?
same problem, 5.0.2.0, now i'm stuck on tattoo, easyest way to fix this or restore default?
EDIT: + i wiped data/factory reset ... so i dunno if tattoo's now empty or with unbootable android. cant boot it, how to restore 1.6 (got backup with rom manager)
(sry for my bad english)
Same issue here.
I was on CM7.0 stable. Today, I updated clockwork to actual latest version (same as the gentlemen above), flashed new recovery.
When I've tried to backup or reboot-to-recovery, infinite booting with TATTOO splash screen was all I've got. But after removing battery, I was able to boot with normal boot path.
Later today, I've tried to Fix Permissions through Clockwork and after reboot, I was stuck with TATTOO splash screen even after battery removal.
I've tried factory reset, it seemd to be successfull, but with no actual result - I'm still stuck with splash screen and cannot do anything.
Does somebody have any idea, what to try?
I was not able to recover the CyanogenMod, however downgrading to stock rom via GoldCard was possible. (reference is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1283429&highlight=stock+rom )
Try flashing cyanogenmod stable 7.1.0.1 and then re-install the recovery via rom manager...Tell me if it resolves
Try to get into recovery from boot loader or flash it manually with adb...
Flash ClockWorkMod a couple of times: See this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1293096&page=2 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297141
Hope I helped you. Hit thanks if u liked it.

[Q] TWRP nor CWM will successfully wipe/format data

First, I searched and read all relevant threads concerning this issue. The five threads that showed up in the search did not help me solve my issue.
So on to my problem. I can no longer flash any rom onto my device. I attempted to flash the first official CM10 nightly (which I recently found out was not flashing properly for others) and had no success. I simply got a black screen and nothing more. I eventually got back into TWRP (v2.2.1.4) to try and Nandroid restore, but I noticed that /data was not formatting and the restore failed. Every time I would slide the bar across to confirm the restore TWRP would reboot itself. I then flashed CWM (v6.0.1.0) and the same problems were there. After that I flashed an earlier version of TWRP and successfully restored the backup. I'm not 100% sure how it was successful. So I decided to try flashing another ROM and no go. Same problems. Anyone have any ideas? When I was using CWM I got the error message below.
Code:
E: unable to locate volume information
E: unable to open ums lunfile '/sys/devices/platform/usb_mass_storage/lun0/file'
E: unable to format data
I'm running Bugless Beast with Motley #219
I'm having similar, if not identical problems. After flashing TWRP 2.2.1.4, I tried flashing a rom and gapps; the tablet would boot endlessly into recovery. Nothing I did would do anything, so I flashed the stock image to start over. This time, I used CWM 6.0.1.0 touch to make sure that it wasn't the recovery that was causing the problem. However, now after flashing the rom and gapps, instead of booting into recovery, I got stuck at a black screen and had to hold the power button in order to get back to the bootloader.
Now, like you, it seems I can't flash any roms anymore. It's frustrating to say the least.

There is a bug with the Nexus 7 where you cannot access the recovery through the bootloader. To fix this, boot up into the bootloader on your nexus 7 and, without doing anything, plug it into the computer you used for rooting it and then select the option Restart bootloader and press the power button. Once it gets you back into the bootloader again select Recovery mode and press the power button. It will now get you into the recovery and once you're in recovery you can unplug your tablet from the computer. Note that this fix is not permanent and you will have to do this every time you wish to access your recovery via the bootloader (and this problem is not relevant to the OP's problem).

Thank You Very Much!!!
I am having much the same problem as the OP. I finally rooted my Nexus 7 using WugFresh's Nexus Root Toolkit. It seemed all went well. I chose to use TWRP in a first attempt to install a ROM (I was on rooted stock), and following the instructions for installing my chosen ROM I went into it to wipe cache, Dalvic Cache and data. Both cache and dalvic cache wiped without issue, but when I attempted to wipe /data TWRP simply reported that it failed. With that failing, I did not attempt to install a rom. I was still able to boot out of recovery, but even with repeated attempts wiping data always failed. Is any one aware of any solution or have any suggestions. Thank you!

A500 recovery stuck "loading recovery kernel image"

Hi awesome XDA dudes
I've searched the forums, and even posted in the basic QA section to no avail. I may have just missed it somewhere, but here is the issue.
Tablet will work fine in Lightspeed 4.8 ROM. No issue there. But, when I try to get into the recovery (power and volume down) I get "booting recovery kernel image," forever.
I recently changed from the Clockwork to TWRP recovery and that is when the recovery function would no longer load.
How can I get back to Clockwork or smililar so that I can put a different ROM on my tab?
Thanks in advance!
Tom
Fixed this problem, only to find another.
So, since my tablet would still function normally (aside from recovery) I downloaded the Acer Recovery Installer App. And this did what everything else failed to do. It installed Clockwork Mod and I was actually able to get into the recovery. Whew!
So I went to install Flex shockwave ROM but the install froze at the Aroma 2.56 stage...forever. Tried again unsuccessfully and gave up. I did properly wipe and format beforehand. I then tried installing CM10 Rom, same exact problem.
So, I used Acer Recovery installer and loaded the TWRP recovery. Here is where things get interesting. I booted into recovery, wiped data and caches, and tried to install the aforementioned ROMs. Each time, Aroma installer worked fine and I was presented with all the install options, all the bells and whistles. After completing my selections, I was prompted to reboot.....
And each time the tablet hangs on the Acer spalsh screen.
So now my problem is reversed. I have access to recovery, but no ROM. :crying:

Ok, so I had a working ROM but my recovery was fried. So, using Acer Recovery Installer I was able to get a working recovery going.
Then the next problem was that I could not get CM10 to install. When I realized I needed to flash the bootloader (and yes fellow noobs this is different than the recovery) I was unsuccessful.
I tried the automated route using the Blackthund3r app, but the process would just hang at Entering bootloader.
I tried the manual NVFlash route provided by Dibbs and it would get past this point and then hang.
So Dibbs (thanks dude) helped me out via email and suggested I download babsector.rar
After I extracted the rar file, I saw the A501 A.bat file and flashed it. This provided me with hope as it flashed the tablet and the screen atcually read "PASS." But, I wasn't done yet as I still could not install CM10. So, back to APX mode and back into the babsector rar folder. I flashed the Tab with A501 B.bat and followed that immediately with flashing the v8.bat file. In the V8.bet file I chose the Thor 1.7.3 recovery (as suggested by Dibbs and others) and WOOHOOO.....PASS on the tablet again.
Feeling ever more confident, I booted into recovery and flashed the CM10 Rom....SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you are having trouble....don't give up. Thanks again for the help to Dibbs and OKAstro!!

After cyanogen factory reset, phone does not start even on recovery mode

Hi,
I have Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500.
I installed Cyanogen latest nightly build. Cyanogen worked perfect. I reset to factory settings from Cyanogen's settings. But after that:
- I can not open the phone's recovery (volumeup + home +power)
- I can not start operating system.
On both theese actions "Samsung" logo appears for 3 seconds, but after nothing is happening. Black screen stucks.
I look from eclipse logcat's, there is no log from phone. because OS did not started.
I tried to re-install clockwork (exatly with same files), but did not changed anything. I am not getting errors or even warning.
I will be happy if you can help me.
Thank you
Are you able to get into download mode (volume down, home, power)? If so, flash a stock ROM using Odin. If the S4 works after flashing the stock ROM, install TWRP recovery and then install Cyanogenmod.
P. S. You want to install TWRP as Clockworkmod is no longer being updated.
Hi,
had the problem of not getting into recovery at all randomly. Shutting down the phone, removing the battery and leaving the phone untouched for about half an hour helped me to enter recovery.

Hi,
I try these: I wait for 1 night by putting out the battery, also I restart the phone million times. But nothing changed.

I did not try to install different recovery software. Because Clockworkmod is already worked for the first time.
I will try to install other recovery softwares and I will write the results here.
Thank you

I solve my problem by installing TWRP recovery. I could not understand how Clockworkmod stoped to work itself by doing nothing.
Thank you for your interest.
Clockworkmod is no longer maintained and doesn't recognize some coding in recent updater scripts included with ROMs. That is why it fails while TWRP succeeds.
