Club emz E-spy software - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im trying to install this on a old mt3g and or MT4G to give to my kid....but it says i have to install the jar. using active/sync...im using htcsync to the phones internal memory...Htcsync is only allowing me to sync to sdcard....SO THE QUESTION I ASK IS HOW DO I SEND SOMETHING TO INTERNAL MEMORY (IN GENERAL I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN HOW TO INSTALL/PUSH SOMETHING TO ANY PHONES INTERNAL MEMORY, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE ?)

You need to post this in the Q and A section, this has nothing to do with android development. MODS PLEASE REMOVE THIS THREAD TO THE Q AND A SECTION. There is an adb push tutorial somewhere on xda. Use that to learn more.

Why are you so hostile ? RELAX IN JOY THE DAY ITS SUMMER, I've edited my post I do own a MT4G and would be willing to try it on that device also, but before attempting to, I figured I'd give it a go on my old mt3g 1st, possibly avoiding any damage to my new device...SO IF I DID AND PARDON ME, POST IN THE WRONG SECTION MODS PLEASE PLACE IN THE CORRECT SECTION PLEASE AND THANK-YOU

That's why it sucks. Its 113 degrees where I am at. Its horribly hot outside. Summer sucks in Vegas. didn't mean to come off hostile. Long day thus far. :-/

Yes... Wrong forum.
I suggest you go to their homepage and ask for some technical support. If you are using a jar file and it needs active sync.. sounds like you have a windows mobile version of it... Not the apk android would use.
You can find their home page at http://www.clubmz.com/.
And good luck with that cheating spouse.

Lmao @bigscottie and camalus...if been doing some research and I've learned that you can convert the jar and jad files to apks...just having trouble finding a program or site that works...ps @camalus I never had that problem..my pimp hand is way to strong LOL

Rom Auto-Installers

Hi everyone i am just wondering if you guys would like me to make roms install automatically on a windows machine so please vote above
also post you views if you vote no please
Why not?
Think its a good thing for starter
Not shore if it possable but you might be able to control clockworkmod with a batch file
I voted "no" because I think there's no need for a rom auto-installer app. It's safer if you do it manually.
its not exactly an app its just a sfx archive that runs a batch file automaticlly
I think it would be prity cool, save a few mins of time thats for sure.
Good idea for newbies!

Excellent idea for us noobs !!
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
i think doing it manually far better..
Sounds good to me
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
I prefer manual "work"
But it may be very useful for newbies.
I agree with many who agree with Auto installers.
Currently I am about to do another post about a couple of files posted in the development section which do not have any instructions on how to install and takes users know or have found where the answer is, which is like at times, finding a needle in a hay stack.
So IMO, an auto-rom installer would be a fantastic idea, so go for it.
I think this project is already in action months ago at androidforums.com. Check out.
That guy used the same technique (using SFX archives and run .BAT file)

[Q] How can i port an existing rom?

How can i port an existing rom?
That's a very broad question..what device was this originally from? what version/flavor of android is this? Etc.

Yeah Nicgraner is right. We need more info to help. Some phones port well to others with little difficulty. Others, not so much.
Google "dsixda rom kitchen"
What you learn may be helpful.

Or go to chef central on here and poke around. Also if this is you trying to get in to deving, read cyanogens post there too.

Well first thank you guys a lot for getting interested in helping me. i know a little bit in basics like rooting and flashing roms but i wanted to know more about how can i make my own rom or at least try to troubleshoot any cooked rom.
Get familiar with logcat, to begin with.
Get familiar with smali/baksmali, decompiling and recompiling Java apps, and Java code for Android in general.
It'll get you half way there.

(root) (rom) I WANNA ROOT AND PUT AN AWESOME CUSTOM ROM

i really wanna root my phone and add an awesome custom rom. im a huge fan about speed and battery life and the cool little screen lock that looks like a tv turning off

Temp root is just temporary rooting the phone.. Usually after you restart your phone it goes away..permanent root is rooting your permanently..even after you shutoff or restart your phone it stays root.. Then you can install/flash custom roms etc..try looking at the guide resources bible.. And Google some terms you don't understand...also YouTube " root mytouch4g" look at as much videos as you can before you start doing anything...
Am guessing you have version 2.3.4.. Press menu..settings...about phone..software information...android version.. What does it say...
If it says 2.3.4 then you need to downgrade to 2.1 before you can before root your phone.
Also take time to read this....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866175
rooting and CFW
Haha, I remember being in your exact position, except i had to downgrade. But here's what I did bro. Follow this link: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Glacier:_Full_Update_Guide. It will tell you all about rooting and downgrading if you have to. It's what I used to root my Glacier. DO NOT use any one click root apps or programs to root. ADB is probably the most secure and reliable way to root your phone. Make sure you are running Froyo, also. And as for the ROM, it all depends on your preference. In my view, there are three types of ROMs- Sense, Stock, and MIUI. Sense will most likely be 3.0 or 3.5, I like it because it is smooth and I love Sense. I would recommend using either Virtuous or CoreDroid. But then there is Cyanogenmod 7. It's the best stock Android ROM, full of tons of tweaks and mods. Last, there is MIUI, which is it's own thing. I use it when I get bored of Sense and CM7 because it's so different, that I feel like i'm not even running Android

The continuum is very robust. You are familiar with its workings, so stick with it. Likewise, you probably won't be able to break it.. for programming, eclipse and the android sdk. Also, go grab all of teal blazers tools and apk manager along with whatever else you may find handy.. start with looking around. Learn the internals, start basic with small xml tweeks, move onto decompressing the smali files and learning that. Ill send you the credentials to the Dev drop box I created and it should have a lot of tools and modified files you can look at within.

Welcome to the n7 forum, and boy what a welcome...... Unless you are comfortable with sending commands via adb use one of the root kits, they offer more than just rooting.
Not to many roms or mods to choose from, but everybody has that there on taste.
Like offers have said search and read, then ask in those threads if unsure.

So, Did your N7 arrive yet?
CleanRom is one of my favorites when I feel like running a custom ROM. Im back to 4.2.1 at the moment.
I think WUG's toolkit is pretty easy for a beginner.
If you really want to play though, learn how to use adb. It may be a learning curve for some, but its really easy and fast.
Of course, search is always your friend, but most of us will still be here to help out if you need it!
Enjoy the Nexus, its a blast!

Welcome to xda Nexus 7 forum and (i guess ) Newbie Target practice Zone.
I think the biggest advice anyone can give you. Is something people do not often say. Before you flash unlock root or change one app on your device. Learn the STEPS TO GO BACK. Make all the necessary backups. Follow all instructions. But only after you understand what they are doing to your device. Read The forums about the different roms . Especially user responses and comments on the different roms.
Most of all Learn your device . Learn recoverys and basic fast-boot and adb..
Backup Backup and know how to use your backup...
NOT TO MENTION BACKUP
again welcome to the fourm and please Backup read re read.. then think before you flash.

He's right. What's good for some may not be good for others. I'll suggest a few things. Keep in mind these are what I prefer:
Mskips Toolkit. I love it. User friendly and easy to navigate even if you're not familiar with rooting. Offers an all in one option (option 8) that unlocks the bootloader, roots, installs busy box, installs your choice of custom recovery, and will recommend the 3.34 boot loader instead of using the built in supplied by Google. 3.34 keeps root more reliably than others for some. Its compatible with all versions, it will buy you dinner, and kiss you goodnight.
Again, my preference but I've had nothing but success with Mskips work.
