For those who have been having problems since updating to Gingerbread...
I believe I saw this Camera app floating around our thread but I couldn't find it. Anyone having problems with low light pictures coming out very dark, try this camera apk. It will not replace your current camera, it will just be an additional app. I take no credit for this.

still have dark pictures.............
oPress the flash icon.. It probably says "auto flash" right now. There are a ton of options including a night time and low light setting. It worked for me. Sorry, I should've mentioned those settings...
Edit: Sorry, not "auto flash"...it just says "AUTO"

Ummm bump any devs know why?

Pretty sure my Hero did this crap too.. ANNOYING!
I've noticed this too. And any ideas on the flash issue? Renders night time pics useless
your best bet is to adjust the iso to around the 200 range. if anything is causing this its the auto iso
I turned my brightness down to anywhere between 2.6-4.0 and night time pics are beautiful, not that ultra bright ridiculousness and as far as the blur, I haven't had that issue

Def didnt help i took 5 pics just now and it didnt change its gotta be a software issue it works fine vertical but once you flip it landscape it gets blurry just dosent make any sence someone help please
It's just the software... My Hero did the same thing.
Usually a different image viewer fixes this, but we shouldn't have to install other software to fix these things...
Any dev think they can fix this?? This is insane seriously
i have the same issue.. have to zoom the pic in a tad to clear it up!
i read a post here that someone did the update and he says the screen is more clear, crisper.
can anyone confirm this??
Several have mentioned that pictures seem more sharp/clear post-update

Did it remove any of the pixelation from the status bar icons, etc?
you can't change a physical thing with software. I have noticed no difference with the screen. Status bar still looks the same, everything looks the same.
the only thing they could have changed is the utility to set backgrounds, but i haven't changed mine so i have no idea.
a question, when we update the atrix for this version, we will lose all installed app?
No, when it is pushed OTA to all Atrix 4G's it will keep all apps and probably most, if not all, of your settings.

its 8:43 CT here and still no update yet. Wonder what time they are pushing it out?
since the update, mine irons shirts now (although its still making a mess of the collar).
I noticed pictures on my phone look much nicer now. Before looking at pictures I had taken and transfered to the phone looked washed out like the white balance was really off. Looking at the same picture on my phone and an Iphone the Iphone displayed the picture way more clear and crisp. Since I did the update that has changed. The pictures look the way they are supposed to now. I'm sure what they did was change display settings to correct the problem.
I think motorola don't will put update to all users for now =/
I hit up the qna section but I don't think anyone goes there lol..
how do you change the saturation or sharpness on the camera?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
sigh no one?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
There isn't a way to change it in the camera app but Sammy bundle a Photo Editor so you can use that on images after the fact.
... thats total crap, its like saying we wont put seatbelts in your car, but well give you insurance..
any hope for a fix? or not?
If you have rooted your phone you could try installing the camera APK from Gingerbread or HTC Sense but I'm not sure that would work without some hacking.
You may have to wait until we have some custom ROMs or put a request in over on the dev forum.

Don't have the phone yet, but had a gander at the manual online and couldn't find any mention of it.
Wow, if this is true, it's a stunning omission - not only by Samsung, but all the reviews that have claimed that "the camera application has all the settings one could wish for".
My phones camera is producing dark pictures even with flash in well lit areas. Anyone else?

Maybe you can provide some additional information?
Like whether your phone is stock/custom ROM, had this problem since the beginning you used the camera?
Happened ever since i installed darkys Rom

As your Rom suggests ' DARKY ROM' = DArk Pictures
Ok Jokes apart, In Settings> check what your Iso is on, If it auto is cool or try the different iso's and see if it makes a difference.
Oh try resetting or full wipe and install again as a last resort
Anybody using it? I just tried to set it up and it told me this (see screenshot). I don't have talk back or any of those other things enabled so I'm not sure what's the deal.

Yea I installed it and got the same message so I decided to just uninstall it for the time being.
I moved onto other things and will come back to that later.

I didn't uninstall... I just exited the app. Guess what though? Just got a gmail, and sure enough, led was blinking the light flow color at the light flow pace. So seems that it is actually working despite that odd message...

Yeah, Light flow, LMT and others use the Accessibility services and only one can be on at a time I believe. Although I think if you have root it may be different with light flow.
There was a problem with past samsung phones where even though talkback was disabled the phone still announced the selection. Does this happen? In the description of the app theres a link that states Samsung fixed the issue but carriers never pushed the update fix yet.
Have you guys tried Light Manager instead to see if that works better? I like LM better than LF for my SIII, but the S4 is a different animal and LF may work better, just throwing that out there to see what you all thought

TRUE.... okay, well, hopefully both apps will be developed to work properly on the S4 soon! I know it took months for anything to happen with either one because they were trying to get data directly from Samsung - the dev of LF even went so far as to order an AT&T 747, and he lives in the UK! That would suck to have to go through again....
Oh please don't say Samsung have messed up with the accessibility service again. The leaked s3 4.2 android works quite well (without TalkBack)
Is the message actually true? Does it then go on to work (lightflow and the things it says won't)?
I hoped not to buy an s4,but if I need to to try and progress things I will.

You should be able to have many (rooted or not). I've a collection of phones and will have lightflow, tasker and many other apps running on several of those phones.
The standard android source code certainly allows for it as I've checked it out extensively.
Can someone with an s4 on hand test out the free version of light flow to see if there are issues? Thanks
Works for me.. And I have all my air view and motion features working.

I'm using Light Manager without any issues....... yet........
Light flow enables some aspects of talk back on my AT&T galaxy s 4. When light flow is enabled in accessibility (with talk back disabled, of course), if I select a picture in the gallery app, a very annoying voice tells me, "one item selected" even if my phone is set to silent. With light flow accessibility disabled, this doesn't happen. I can only stop it if I freeze Samsung and Google tts services with titanium. I'm not sure where else the talk back is inadvertently activated due to light flow.

I can confirm this happens to me as well. I re downloaded light flow and this time clicked "ok" on the screenshot in the op, and now, if I go into gallery and select a photo, it speaks "one item selected", etc. I even have talk back DISABLED under all apps.

Light flow is far superior when it works. Many more options, like ending led on screen on, etc. With light manager I have to go into the notification drawer and dismiss the notifications to get led to stop blinking. I much prefer a quick screen on and off.
That being said, I'm using light manager for now because it doesn't have the talk back issues.

I didn't install lightflow for that very reason. Haven't tested it much yet but I just installed Light Manager and it works without any issues so far...(literally installed it less than a half hours before reading this post). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koo.lightmanager&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5rb28ubGlnaHRtYW5hZ2VyIl0.
