[Q] Vibrate not working after Unrevoked - EVO 4G General

Hi All,
I've recently realized that none of my notifications will cause my EVO to vibrate.
I rooted my phone using unrevoked about 4 months ago, and up until about a month ago everything was working fine, when the vibration notifications suddenly stopped.
I have tried checking all settings (which are set correctly), downloading the Sound Manager application, and most recently (today), flashing to the Fresh 4.1 ROM, all to no avail.
I have also attempted (unsuccessfully) flashing back to the original EVO ROM (3.2 i think), after setting S-chip back to "On", but was receiving an error message stating that the main version I was trying to flash is older than the current one.
Attempts to revert back to factory defaults also did not correct this problem.
I have been searching different sites for about 3 days now hoping to find some information on how to correct this or perhaps someone who has has a similair issue.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Dude, you're begging to be banned already. don't post in a title that rooting caused your vibration to fail. It has NOTHING to do with rooting. its a hardware failure. If you have a warranty, then unroot your phone and revert it back to normal. then send your phone in to be replaced. btw, what are you 12?
EDIT, THROUGH ALL YOUR RESEARCH YOU COULDN'T FIND ANYONE ELSE WITH YOUR ISSUE. LMAO. take that back you're 5 years old. lmao btw, if you have a question. go post in the questions part of the forum.

Thanks for the reply.
No, I am not begging to get banned, and I am obviously not 5 years old. THE IRONY OF SOMEONE TYPING IN CAPS INFERRING SOMEONE ELSE'S IMMATURITY IS AMUSING, BTW.
To clarify, I have been searching for someone who has had the issue and could also assist me with correcting it. As I mentioned, the corrective approaches that I have found up to this point have not worked.
I appreciate the fact that you believe this may be a hardware issue, so I am certainly interested in finding out how to successfully unroot the phone, as I mentioned in my post, I have had several issues when trying to do this.
This post does, however, belong in the questions forum, which I had mistakenly navigated from, so +1 to you.

[sending to acer] Speaker Issue...

Wondering if anyone has had any issues with their speakers. My left Speaker stopped working. Not exactly sure when. I've tried a couple roms and have the same issue on both. I had been running thors ics, but switched back to 3.2 a couple days ago. Just played some music for the first time in a few days and noticed the issue. Haven't tried stock yet...any ideas?
update... i'm sending it to acer for warranty repair... anyone have any tips of restoring stock rom/recovery on this?
Anybody? <crickets>
Update....
Talked to Acer, they are going to fix it. Hardware issue i guess.

Read the dev forum to learn how to go back to stock. For future reference, if you want to install a rom, ANY rom (that is gpl compliant), thats the place to look.

Generally, we would just install a stock rom available from Vache's thread here in the dev section. This should install a factory rom, and overwrite the recovery image. At least in theory (never had a need to go back to stock).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878
Choose one that fit's your needs, really doesn't matter what you ship back to Acer. (they're not the smartest turnips to fall off the truck)
Of course, I have never personally tried this. But if you look at the threads, you will find others that did this, so you can post and ask for procedures.
This person just did this;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506957
So maybe you can post for instructions.
Thanks. Sent it in today.
I'm sort of relieved to not be installing roms constantly for the next 10days or so.

[Q] HELP! Cannot enable wifi after 4.3 OTA update

I cannot enable wifi since I updated to 4.3 today. I've tried everything I know and wifi will not toggle on.
I am so frustrated!
I was rooted before the update and lost root afterwards FYI for anyone who has root using 4.2.2
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I did see a message saying something about it not finding something on my SD card but not sure if the message (that flashed briefly) had anything to do with this issue or not.
Restarting the phone doesn't help.
My S4 is useless to me without wifi.
I have done a factory data reset and wiped all data. Still having the same issue.

I know this doesn't help you, but it may help others.....
Don't EVER take an OTA while rooted. Jeez, I thought that was the cardinal rule when deciding to root ones phone.....

People just assume they will fine. This guy/girl, I'm sure wasn't that patient and flashed the zip. The main thread for the update shows that members have been having problems with WiFi while flashing the update zip on stock rooted.

I'm familiar with rooting somewhat and figured for sure I'd lose root. I didn't know about the wifi issues though. I'm really not a dumb butt (and I'm not suggesting that's what you're saying exactly), it's just that after searching and searching for a primary thread and not finding one on the issue, I went ahead and did the update being fine with potentially losing root temporarily till another root option came out.
I feel like a dumb butt because I still cannot find the thread that you're talking about. Maybe I'm just overwhelmed. I have no idea why but my continued searches are still turning out fruitless for finding any info on wifi troubles at all except for people in Germany on different carriers.
Will someone kindly point me in the right direction for the thread you're referring to and in the right direction as to how I can flash my phone back to stock/unrooted?
I was just excited to get this update and have never ran into issues like this before with updating OTA on other devices, except for losing root.
I really do appreciate any help and I'm sorry for having a putz moment.
Garry.

If you already updated to mja update, you went to the path of no return; well for awhile. You can odin or anything or go back to other firmware. Its like apple's ios firmwares now. Being stuck when you upgrade and cant downgrade sucks really.

Help with 4.2.2

So I had a stock 4.2.2 rom on my phone, I eventually rooted it with QBking's method and also used his wifi. Recently I was having issues so decided to unroot my phone. If I need the links I'll pull them up but the rom used was L720VPUAMDC_L720SPTAMDC_L720VPUAMDC_HOME.tar.md5.
I checked the md5 and everything was fine. So I booted up odin everything was smooth then I noticed the bar wasn't moving so I left it for awhile came back about 20 minutes later it still was in the same spot so left it again and still same thing. So in the end now it just fails everytime I try to odin the tar. Not sure what to do from here but can't do anything. Yes I know search is my friend but I've looked through about 50+ threads and I'm still clueless usually I have no issues following this stuff. Any help is appreciated.
So...
you didn't read, search or look through the forums as much or well though.
If you had 4.4 on you're phone you'd have found out that you CANNOT go 'back' to a version before your current firmware version you show you used MDC - that is WAY before kitkat/NAE. There are dozens of posts about this. I know I've personally responded to many of them.
Do some more reading and searching look for the NAE .tar and PC Oding that. You will get back to 'zero' - stock unrooted. Then read a whole lot more and you'll find this is a great device.

If you READ the above I didn't have 4.4 I had 4.2.2, I haven't updated my phone in quite sometime because what I had was functioning well for me until recently , I had some issues and need the phone replaced. Anyways since I apparently didn't read at all /sarcasm I tried on a different pc and got it to actually odin back to stock 4.2.2 no root. I appreciate your comment though uncalled for, anyways thanks for your time.
Applogize for the mis-read of 4.2 vs 4.4. My bad.
But my sarcasm does stand.
The 'different PC/different port fix/suggestion has been suggested many, many, many times.
My ire is not directed at you personaly, but the throngs of folks who dont look and won't respond back to the forums on how/if they fix their problem so that other can learn.
Fantastic that you got it working and thank you for posting back! Most don't seem to when they get it working, thus not contributing to the groupp knowledge.
Good luck on new phone.
You should always post the links if you're looking for help so we can help better.

[Q] Reverted back to stock and now no updates?

Hi everyone!
I'm new so bear with me, please.
I have an AT&T S4 that had been unlocked even though I use it on AT&T. I rooted my device specifically to remove bloatware that came with it. Which I did. Eventually though I grew wary and decided I wanted to take everything back to stock like it was when I first got the phone. Didn't have any luck. After some research on here I found that I needed to flash it to NB1 using Odin and that's what I did. The phone booted fine, setup fine and even began updating apps. My problem is that it won't let me update to NJ4 again. The Software updater claims that there is no updates available when I know clearly there is. I'm not sure what I may have done wrong but I could use any help that anyone is willing to provide.
P.S. I rooted using Towelroot v3 following this method in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att/general/how-to-root-i337ucufnj4-4-4-4-11-13-2014-t2939553/post56738573#post56738573
Thanks in advance!
Troubleshooting section of first post of the thread you linked has steps to manually update to NJ4
i followed the guide mentioned .. I had to sideload the update as OTA was not detected by the phone
Now everything is working like a charm
OP, try this and all will be good
Solved
Thanks for the replies everyone, some very helpful information. Ironically, it seemed to have fixed itself this morning. I put it in it's usual place on the nightstand and when I awoke this morning, the notification was there and it successfully updated to 4.4.4 and everything seems to be going smoothly.
Thanks again for the quick replies. Should I ever need additional assistance I now know what forum I can turn to.

flashed wrong ROM. Need advice.

Ok, this is only my second post here, so excuse me if I come off like a moron.
Got my sm-t530nu about six months ago. I got twrp on. Now, I am really foggy on how this went down, as I was on narcotic pain meds, preparatory to spinal surgery, Essentially, I recall causing some **** up that I had to use twrp to repair. But I believe I installed the wrong build firmware. I am on .....1AOA2 but I recall realizing that I had made an error.
So, here are my queries:
1) Is there a way to determine which build I should have, as stock?
2 ) I would like to get this right back to un rooted stock, with the proper original ROM, which I no longer have an image or backup of. And then play with root. I've already blown Knox marker....
( look, it was the drugs making me stupid.)
I regularly receive the error message telling me that "settings has stopped" (or something very similar. )
(Yes, I'm still on the narcotics, and I'm sticking with that as an explanation for my gappiness )
Anyway, any help would be met with extreme gratitude.
Thanx, guys (and girls, I guess...)

1) You should be on lollipop, build number UEU1BOI2
2) Flash one of the following firmware files with Odin:
Lollipop firmware file for USA or
Lollipop firmware file for Canada
Once that's done you can root by installing TWRP with Odin, then immediately going into TWRP and flashing the latest superSU zip. For more detailed rooting instructions, check my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61421937&postcount=4
And for what it's worth, I have the exact same tablet model as you. Good luck, and I hope everything goes smoothly with your surgery
Dude!!!!!
Thank you.
Excellent instructions that worked perfectly!
I am VERY thankful. ...
Gracias
