Control PS3 with Android?? - Vibrant General

I looked around for a app, but could not find one that works.
I found the best one called blueputdroid, but that app won't work on my phone because I have ADFREE and it blocks host, and the app dev doesn't want to have ad's disabled.. soo the app doesn't work without disabling and restoring the hosts.
Anyone have any ideas of a similar app?

bumppppppppppp

I've been looking for an app like that too, but no luck. The best I could do was control media centers that I stream to the PS3....close enough

that'd be sweet
I'd love to get an app like that.

I wish there was an app that would let me use the phone as a Bluetooth keyboard for sending out messages through psn

Oh man that would be awesome!!! I hate using the pop-up keyboard with the control. I wonder if its possible..?

It is possible, I tried the app Blueputdroid, you guys can too, there's pro and free ads/noads im guessing, but even on the free if you have adfree enabled and your hosts have been changed, the app refuses to start up, so someone who HASNT used adfree can try it and tell us.
Some ROMS have adfree auto-enabled, idk how to get away from that if i ever wanted to.

There is a thread in the Development section that outlines this, link is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818789
It uses QPST to edit the encoded information in phone.
I would like to add, for must have apps, Loot is the best free checkbook type app I've found. Also, if you've rooted, Adfree is a MUST, as is AutoKiller. I've saved a ton of money using the Coupon App. Youtube ripper is great for saving vids to phone, subsonic lets you tap your home music resources from phone, ROM Buddy is great for your emulator needs. And, MP3 Download is great for on the fly music downloads.
I installed Launcher Pro but it wouldn't open. I am rooted and not sure what the &#[email protected] I have done to my phone.

In Need of App

Hey guys I'm looking for an app or something that can do something similar to this:
I need to be able to lock purchases from the android market when my kids are playing games on my phone.
Either that or something that allows me to "lock" specific apps..maybe have them require a password to unlock?
I don't want to apply that to ALL my apps cause that would be inconvenient and plus I want my kids to be able to access their games. (Don't like kids mode, and doesn't work if not on mySense.)
So in the end, an app that can block purchases or an app that locks specific apps.
That would be awesome. If you guys know of any please let me know.
Thanks.
There are various apps in the market. Check them out and see which one works for you. Search app lock in the market.

I'm actually using app protector and it works great for me. Password protected and you can choose to have the unlock pattern as well. I have locked gallery and messages as well as the market. Try that out. The also have a lite version u can try out before actually purchasing the app. Good luck

Yes. I'm very aware there are various apps in the market, that's the reason I made this post.
To ask for a recommendation from anyone that might be currently using an app like this.
Thanks anyway.

Why phone designed apps are awesome for Xoom

THE ADS ARE SOOO SMALL!!! XD
I love it's especially on the xda app, its in the bottom left hand corner, and is barely noticable.
Someone should start a thread on good apps that work on the Xoom, or start it here, I personally would but I'm new to android, which is why I would like to know some good apps. I mostly operate off 3g connection, which is why I don't want to try the download and try and delete method.
3 gigs 35 dollar $-$ wtf.
Ill start with what I have downloaded that's not a tablet app and works fine.
-Xda (obviously)
-Astro file manager
-skype (I read somewhere that they were going to make a tablet specific version for a fee)
-Dr Webb for android
That's all really.
Two that I dl'd that didn't work were vevo and pocketcloud
Vevo didn't play videos at all but I haven't tried on wifi yet.
Pocketcloud worked like it should with massive lag even on wifi, might just be cause its a free app, I dont know, like I mentioned thus is my first android device. And I must say, it wins.
Anyway, please help me find great apps and ill return the favor.
One awesome one for tablets is PewPew

Lol, I hadn't noticed the ad until you mentioned it. Just loaded xda on my xoom.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
yeah i love that. but im sure they will change it and have ads take up more space.
Pay for the premium XDA app. Support the community and it's only $0.99 . I paid for it and I love the XDA theme and being able to set the app up the way I want it.
My xda app crashes all the time. At first I thought it was my rooted evo, but it does the same thing at the same place on the xoom. Hard to pay for something that keeps fc'ing.

If a tablet version is made, I will definitely buy the app. There are a lot of features I'd like to take advantage off that's not in the free app. But the free app does freeze a lot, right now I'm not even able to get into it because it's been stuck at the XDA loading screen. I can't seem to get it past that.
And I know they're going to make tablet apps with Huge ads, thats why phone apps are better
Hopefully they do make a tablet app for XDA tho, I'll even pay $2 if it has most the features of the site.

When they take out the unneeded permissions (GPS, phone identity) I will. Till then I use the web browser.
Go to manage applications in settings and reset the cache for the XDA App and it should fix the problem.

New Notification

I've been running CM7 since the last "Alpha" release and have it updated with the Oct 22 update. I don't recall exactly when, but I started recieving these "optout" notifications. I don't know if it's related to CM7 or something else, but they're not cool at all . Does anyone know where they're coming from or how to stop them?

The only app I have installed now that was not before I switched to CM7 is Go SMS Pro. Has anyone had any experience with it?
Go sms pro doesn't do that, but i don't use go fb chat. What opens when you click it?
Edit :

Found this after a bit of research. Looks like an adbased app on your phone is using their apk. Seems they do support opt out, but aren't doing a good job a securing your identity period.

I'm not going to click those %^#$%#$%#$ Spam messages... I clear all the notifications. The only features of Go SMS Pro I use are SMS & MMS. I don't have Facebook, Myspace, Google+ or any other "Social networking" (Read: Stalking) crap. Want nothing to do with any of them. Any ideas how I can track down where it came from? I've looked at the installed apps and services with Titanium Backup and nothing stands out. Unless One of the other apps got 'updated' to include this new 'feature', Go SMS seems the most likely suspect at the moment.

wats a myspace?
Although I usually have 150-200+ apps installed at any one time, I started getting those annoying little "notifications" almost as soon as I installed the free version of the IPhone keyboard. Not cool at all...
How often do they come up? Is it at a predetermined time or is it random? A relatively easy way to narrow it down may be to look at market reviews of suspected apps.
Girlfriend had this problem. There's an app called airpush detector on the market. Download it to see what's causing the ads

I have been wanting something like this as well.
To have an application to do this though, you would have to have two parts two it.
First part would be an app on your Android device, and the other part would be something that runs on a computer @ the house.
Reason for this is because you would want a secure connection between your phone and the app. Otherwise, anyone/everyone would be able to access your home automation system.
If there is anything like this, that would be awesome, but I don't think there is
The closest thing you can get to it is HomeSeer, but it isn't voice activated. It's only buttons.
If anyone knows of a program that would do voice activation home automation, please let me know!
