You can use the visionary method or gfree. The gfree way is posted in the mt4g development stickies

But READ EVERYTHING, its annoying trying to help out guys who haven't read up and rooted by posting a question like this and then skimming through a guide bricking their phone in the process.

Hey sorry If I am asking a stupid question, but I wanted to know how to turn S-off on my Aria. I'm trying to use Anim Mod and Metamorph but apparently it won't work without S-off. By the way im running Liberated Aria 2.2. Thanks for any info!

There has been no published way to gain S-OFF on the Aria. You may want to keep checking this site for any progress:

There is a pseudo s-off in the development section. Can't link now. Working. Sorta. lol

Anim mod doesn't work with that.
Has anyone else run into a very long root process with Super OneClick when following the instructions on the forums?
Don't use superoneclick, use aRoot if youre still on 1.26 and gladroot if youre on 1.57 (although you'll have to flash back to 1.26 for that one). Check the development forum, can't link from here

More details. What did you use to get S-Off? Did you use the "Attempt Permaroot" option in Visionary?
S-Off does not equal root. S-Off means the security flag is off which allows permanent rooting to take place, as well as writing to partitions.

If it doesn't work you have to reboot and try again. It uses an exploit that doesn't work 100% of the time.

Rooted HTC desire HD with s.a.m.e.r D guide in forum. How can I go about getting s-off now?
Do I use another guide? Most don't work or links broken. Cheers
