No there aren't any official Acer reps on XDA.
'Some' users have said they've pointed Acer employees (Support folk) to XDA and, more specifically to certain threads, but none of them have come out in the open.
I would be surprised if that ever changed.
Acer reps should learn from asus reps and should act over the issues faced by the customers.....asus reps are loud on xda....(ppl atleast know their are reps that listen)

Unnecessary troll.
Thread closed.
There are NO official Acer representatives on XDA, and we should not bother what our members do for a living.
In short the answer is NO.

what happened to the Samsung and Xda colaboration ??

What do you mean with collaboration ?
I'm a new member but would like to know something about the past of this community
There was someone apparently from Samsung who showed up and claimed they wanted to get in touch with the community. Think someone called tommy? Dunno, but he just went MIA..too much effort involved? Or maybe they found a small group and connected with them?
Thank you for the information. But was there ever anyone who checked if he was really form samsung ?
Maybe it was just a bad joke of someone....
I don't think there is any collaboration. Otherwise Samsung would have solved a lot of bugs by now
No there was! I was part of the question asking team. The questions were all sent to samsung and xda is awaiting replies
Galaxy S - no point in writing rom or kernel constantly changing!
Well, the so-called collaboration failed miserably.
It was 'samsungjohn' I believe who commenced a thread/s across multiple models to allow Samsung users to post ideas etc or something like that.
The amount of abuse from users forced xda to completely stop or remove the threads.
As a result it never really got off the ground and if I were samsungjohn I wouldn't even bother again.
Kind of a waisted opportunity I believe but many posters believe it was just PR crap. I guess we will never know.

What happened to the thread about donating money to the dev. coming from the other device. I don't see the thread, I don't even see my post under my user statistics???? What the hell?? I mentioned the Atrix bootloader unlock bounty, and now the thread and every trace of it is gone.... Some kind of conspiracy...

Could be that the guy suggested the other guy commit insurance fraud, which to my understanding is frowned upon in society.

Should be frowned upon. Some people support fraud.

How cool is it that on the sonyericsson website(bootloader unlock site), they actually refer ppl to the xda site to get the problems sorted lol. Just goes to show the guys on here know more than the official devs lol.

Thats probably because after you unlock your bootloader, you loose all official support. Saves them emailing you back saying F-OFF!!
Or there just to lazy lol
I think AndroHero is correct about f off, more than half of XPlay owners don't know how to unlock it so naturally they point to the hacking forum
Also, this hack doesn't cost ant software sales so there's no piracy, which is another reason ( sony playstation was hacked and introduced piracy to it)

It's being tweeted by many XDA dev users so the lack of people that don't read announcement won't be an issue as even on the day users will be able to see what's happening

Of cause.. (In all caps as well) I bet the XDA servers will crash under the weight of people asking why XDA was down, then when it comes back, it will crash, and loop forever and ever

Funny enough being from the UK I don't recognise the US government, which means I don't recognise there laws, so therefore if this does get past I would recommend you move to a European host, and tell the US to go swivel. Tim Berners-Lee invented the internet (WWW), the Americans implemented it. however they certainly don't own the internet because of that, I think the US are over stepping there international boundaries with this idea, they have no right to this, hopefully this will stay in the US and everyone will just go international leaving the american internet dead.
the U need to stop protecting companies with outdated business model in the 21st century. Pirating will still happen as SOPA will only offline URLs not IP addresses, oddly enough i think Torrent users are quite aware of IP addresses... anyways...

Always have and always will, can't agree with you more. Hopefully their citizens can knock some common sense to their government
Hi, I would like to help stop this evil SOPA and PIPA but as a UK resident I cant do anything, this bill would change the internet as we know it, and is yet another restriction of our personal freedom. I hope that it doesn't get passed. Hope Ron Paul is successful too.
