O2 KF2! Help - Galaxy S II General

The latest version according to KIES for my O2U firmware Galaxy S2 is KE2...
Why have they not done a KF2!?
I know i can flash via odin but like i think i need to debrand my phone first.
i am also already rooted btw. any help on how to get the latest version without debranding my phone?

Anyone? :/

Why should they KE2 is the latest release O2 have decided to release .You going to have to ask O2 why .
Dont know why you are bothered about debranding as rooting has voided your warranty anyway .
O2 branded as it says on the tin latest KE2 .
You want later firmware then it removes branding is stock not O2 firmware .

I was on the stock O2 ROM until recently the same as you and decided I've had enough waiting so installed a custom ROM, Smaberg's Touch X-Treme which is perfect. Forget staying on the O2 ROM and flash away, if you have to, just put a stock ROM on and change your CSC code then you can keep up to date with Kies. Easiest way would be Chainfire's root and CWM if you haven't already got it and install a custom ROM via zip which avoids using ODIN all the time.

orange uk 2.2.

sorry if this is the wrong place, but im on darkys rom and need to go to the orange uk 2.2 now how do i do this? is this simply going through kies, or is there a download i can put into odin?
Kies will probably reject update as its Darkys rom .
You may be able to spoof update using Kies Registry Patcher from xda themes .
If you have saved your original Orange rom that can be flashed via Odin .
Otherwise it would be a downgrade and wipe to Eclair via Odin and hope that Kies will then pick up the Orange update .

If you want branded network firmware as came with your phone you will have to find an individual with a saved rom . Or install via Odin the Samsung Generic unbranded firmware from Samfirmware.com . But that is unbranded .
Possible other route is to flash to Eclair and hope for branded network update via Kies .

UK i9000 from darky 7.0 to stock

Hi
i have recently purchased an i9000 from the UK it came loaded with Darky's Rom 7.0.
I would like to use it in canada with a stock firmware. How can i restore it to stock firmware so i can also update the phone via kies to the latest stock firmware ?
which firmware should i use and what is exactly procedure ? can i use I9000XXJVK 2.3.3 can i root it ?
Currently kies is telling it cannot update the firmware.
Kies can only update legitimate firmware .
Gingerbread 2.3 is not yet released .
The phones product code is tied to the firmware update so O2UK phone gets O2 UK update not Canada update .
As its for non Europe i would be installing a stock rom for that area from samsungfirmwares .com as you require a modem to work in Canada .
North American threads on the forum may help if any .
Alternative would be to use Kies Registry Spoofing and spoof a clean phone to a Canada provider firmware .

Thanks for the reply
So there is no way i can restore the phone to legitimate firmware? I dont mind to restore it to legitimate uk firmware. The samfirmware website list the latest 2.3.3 already.
If i cannot restore it to a legitimate firmware how can i get back to a stock firmware from darky 7.0?

Legitimate firmware that came with the phone can be restored if you saved it .
Flash stock from samsungfirmware through Odin pit 512 and repartition checked .
2.3.3 has not yet been released by Samsung so do not install .

No i didnt saved it. I got the i9000 with darkys 7.0 version. Will go to stock firmware no other option. Darkys custom rom drains to much battery tried all the 10000 suggestions.
Thanks m8 for ur help.

Odin flash a stock rom with appropriate modem.. root with a kernal of your choice.. im pretty sure you can change the product code.. search for it on xda..
Before flashing.. make sure all lagfixes are disabled if any..
All the best

Sorry for double post...
But, you are sure that i can be able to update this firmware with Kies when i flash it ? Or i have no possibility to obtain an official firmware of Orange ?
I don't know, but you could try it out I have a i5801 too. and I'M NOT interested in updating with kies. kies is the crappiest programme on earth a friend of mine has destroyed his phone with kies (bada), and kies only makes troubles. simply flash firmwares with odin. If you don't flash a bootloader you can't brick anything. btw you could flahs custom roms too^^
have fun with your phone.
I know. I'm on the Kyrillos one actually (v4.1). Only if one day i want to back on official road ... Maybe
Well, thx for answers
haha... OK^^

[Q] if i didn't did backup for my stock rom i still get back to it ?

hello
i have now the litening 1.5
and i didn't backed up my stock rom
there is a way to back to stock rom now ?
my phone from clove.uk
(i know that it might be at www.samfirmware.com but don't know what to search....)
thanks
and sorry for the newbie question
Just flash KF2 in odin again (presuming thats the firmware you were on before litening rom) and you will be back on stock firmware with all your apps and data in tact.
do u mean this one ?
I9100XXKF2 ## EXT4.PIT 2.3.3 2011 June MULTI - CSC - OXAKF2 ?
and how can i be sure that this was my firmware ?
as i said ... my phone from clove.co.uk bought it on 9/6/2011 if it help
Hi I've byen wondering the same thing.
I flashed my phone before taking notice or backup of anything and so haven't a clue which versions my phone came with.
It is great that all the stock stuff is available but does not help me much as I have no clue whether, whatever I flash will be the same as what the phone came with...
I suppose that it is too late to think about that and not possible to find out exactly which combinations the phone came with from emei or serial no. or something like that..
by the way
if my friend bought the galaxy s II from clove 2 weeks after i did
it should be same firmware ?
(he didn't root it and flashed it yet....
then he still with the stock rom , it can help me ?
You can flash back to KE7 stock. This has been available via the official KIES Samsung channel.
Check the Development forum for stock firmware:

XWKE7
Firmware info
PDA:XWKE7
PHONE: XXKE4
CSC:XEUKD1 (XEU)
Build date: 18/05/2011
Generic XEU: http://www.multiupload.com/IBRBHDUDXI
MD5: F388DB98FC83861C2F22E607AE940DBB
and how i can really know that this is what i had before i flashed the litening 1.5 ?
and what about the kernel ?
should i need to do something about it ?
At the end of the day I don't think it matters what firmware you go back to as they are all pretty much the same with no major changes. If you are in the UK then it probably came with KE7 as that is the latest official ROM for this area. Litening ROM 1.5 is based on KF2, so flashing stock KF2 won't do any damage.
Before flashing anything do a backup just in case, but if you flash any PDA in odin none of your data will be wiped.
