Does anyone have Swype keyboard working on the HKTW 2.3.4? I have tried installing it and the keyboard shows up but swyping doesn't actually work. You still have to press each individual key. Is this just a bug that no one has noticed or do I have to do something different?

That happened to me at first, I believe it's related to not being licensed. Run the installer again, follow the prompts for 'generate license' and it should work. I have it working now. Restoring the app itself doesn't seem to work.
I ran the installer and had an update. Updated and still nothing. It sucks because i almost forgot how to text without it.

i had teh same issue with a tibu restore but i uninstalled both the swype installer and keyboard and did a fresh install and its been working so far.
Will try that. Thank you.

Every thing works except when I click on the people icon. This is the error I get:
Fbook error:
The application Facebook
(process com.facebook.katana)
Has stopped unexpectedly
Does anyone have any idea why? On my other DInc it works fine.
Adam
Hmm I have no idea. Mine seems to be working fine.
On a lighter note, how badass is it that they used "katana" in the process name?
I have the same problem. I reported my dinc and still fc's.
What do you mean "you reported you Droid incredible and still fc's." That does not make sense.

just a shot in the dark here, he may have meant rebooted.
could you both please give us more information?
are either of you running a modified rom? if so what version (the rom name and the base AndroidOS version (2.1 or 2.2)
also please let us know if you have updated your radio in any way, or have applied any "fixes" to resolve other issues
Radio is 1.00.03.04.06
Firmware 2.1- update 1
All I have done is use unrevoked to root and then did a nandroid backup.

Did you try reinstalling the application?
Yes I have reinstalled the update many times.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
My DInc does this also when I try to open the friends list. Force close and restarts the app. Uninstalled the update and using the old one again.
I have a Droid Bionic and I keep getting this same error. I've done everything from re-installs to hard reset. Still nothing will fix it. One strange thing is my wife's login works. WTH?
Mine works, did ya'll try removing the account from the accounts list? If you are running Sense I'd remove that account too just for good measure.
After that I'd DL the app from the market, sync the contacts and see if it works. If it does then I'd go ahead and add Facebook for Sense last
Is this just me? Every time i reply to a post, I get a force close. This has happened on almost every firmware I've tried.
Just me?
Same here, it crashes everytime, do not know, but I think this is not a firmware thing, but a xda app thing....
are you guys on Froyo or 2.1 ?
i'm using it just fine, no errors, i use it very often to check my PMs and post back on the go
I had the same a few days ago.however somehow the problem got solved and now I don't get these FC's anymore when posting a message...

Same here but not always. I just ignore it coz my message still gets posted.

Mine is a clean install and the latest version. Guess its just a bit crap then... much like the official UK ebay app as well then.
Oh to top it off my phone decided it had enough and went to sleep again.

Mine crashes too (fresh install)
mine was upgraded from the older verison
Posted here earlier that my problems were gone, but I just had another FC after posting elsewhere...
Also, when trying to edit a previous message I seem unable to type anything; the keyboard appears on my screen, but touching it gives a feedback that is the same as touching in a textbox (I can move cursor and select text etc.instead of typing with the virtual keyboard that is displayed).

Edit: hmmm this time no FC and fully able to edit message....weird...
Mine just crashed using quotes. Seems to work fine otherwise.

I had two updatede apps today. They downloaded fine but won't install. Don't know if it's a Market issue or something with my device. Any ideas?

Ok. New apps will download and install but still have the issue with updating apps.
Sent from my rooted DROID2 using XDA App
Usually an uninstall and then reinstall fixes apps that don't update.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
Tried that. Also cleared Market cache and data. Done several reboots.

Read in another thread that it could be an issue with Google servers. Has anyone heard anything?

It is a google problem, the same thing is happening on the hero Just wait for them to fix is probably the only thing we can do right now
Same thing has been happening to me. I have just been clicking the update and then immediately clicking on the name of the app I just downloaded and watching the download and install meter and it works for me everytime.

The issue was with apps on the memory card. Had to move them to phone memory, update, then move them back to the card. Annoying.

Possible, maybe why they're having market issues
Not sure it's the Market now. Since I couldn't get Angry Birds to updated I tried getting it at GetJar. That wouldn't install either.
Sent from my rooted DROID2 using XDA App
Ok. Completely lost. ROM Manager successfully updated but Angry Birds still won't.
Sent from my rooted DROID2 using XDA App
I'm having almost the same issues. It started yesterday when I accidentally unistalled the wrong app. When I went on to market to re-download it and found it sat in the ongoing downloads going nowhere along with several others. I cancelled them and started them again one by one. They all downloaded and then failed to install. After that they all appeared in the downloads list but say "FREE" next to them instead of "Installed".
I know that, apart form the first app, all of them are definitely installed. Rebooting the phone made no difference. I also removed the memory card to see if that helped. At that point I managed to install the first app.
I put the SD card back in and the problem returned. Most of the apps I have installed on the SD card only appear in my downloads list intermitently, and I still can't install or update anything from the market with the SD card in the phone. I also am having issues re-installing backups and non-market apk's.
Have I done anything to the phone to make it do this or is this a Google issue? I'm using a rooted T-Mobile UK desire on stock 2.2 with ModInstallLocation set to external.
Thanks for any help or advice.
I also get Free instead of Installed.

Ok. Was able to update apps and install one new app. Still can't get other apps to install. At this point I'm open to crazy possibilities.

It's still the server issues, until Anroid 2.3 is out this will probably be a problem
I hope I don't have to wait for 2.3 given how long it takes Verizon to release an update.

I tried it with no success. The apk wouldn't install and I realized after I changed my build.prop like they say, my swype wasn't working correctly. I could tap out the letters individually is all.
You can run the swype installer to fix that issue (usually.... You may have to go online and create a new account for "the new phone" )

Had one of those random reboots after trying to close out of my music app. Phone got warm and eventually had to pull the battery cause the screen and everything was frozen. I do have journaling on and when I restarted my phone all of the words in my swype were gone including the built in basic dictionary. It left me with nothing but spanish words and accents. Is this happening to anyone else and if so is there a fix?

If you mean Swype dictionary, the only fix is to restore from a backup. Journaling is not a catch-all unfortunately. As for the reboots, it seems kind of random still. Toadlife was working on a fix for those getting reboots on wifi. You had a freeze which is a different animal. You would have to be able to reproduce it to have any idea of solving it.

The reboot I can deal with it was a one time thing probably cause I was trying to do too much on my phone at one time. Unfortunatly I didn't make a swype backup before switching roms so I will probably have to reflash the rom for it to fix. I was originally on Toadlifes rom but I switched over to Legendary because I thought it was just a bug but it is probably just my phone messing with me. I'm curious as to why a battery pull causes the entire swype dictionary to crash. It even erased the simple words like "the" lol. Thanks for the help though.

Maybe swype caches the dictionary to sd and it corrupted?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
I've noticed this after swype decides to auto update itself. After it updates I have no dictionary. I'm running the 3.26.xx latest beta.
