Flashing to 2.3.4 ? - Atrix 4G General

Is it worth it? does it have a lot of bugs compared to 2.2 and 1.8.4? also how do I do it? I can't find any guides or anything..

Really you can't find any guides? Then you don't need to flash 2.3.4

This question has already been asked and answered several times in this forum already. Why are you starting new redundant threads instead of using the search button?

I have been looking, there are no guides. I saw one the first day it was out, but I can't seem to find anymore. Not sure what to search for. I'm typing in flash 2.3.4 nothing is coming up =X No need to get rude with me.

check the sticky in the dev section. Thread closed, redundant question...

please help

I have Froyo on a non rooted nexus is here a way to unlock and root it it I have been trying but it will not recognize the bootloader. please help .
Thank You
You can unlock it using fastboot, just like you could in 2.1, as far as I know.
From there, flash a different recovery, then use something like this quick rooter:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686627
First of all, wrong forum.
Second of all, you're smart enough to figure out how to put an official firmware that's not released yet on your phone. So please use the search or read the forum stickies.

First of all I did not asked to be flamed just needing help If I made a mistake I am sorry but I thought this was a friendly helpful community or are you the bad apple ?
If you read the forum more, you'll find threads similar to this one, if you don't search no one will help you, especially for this very easy question you're asking.
1. Click on the Nexus One Q&A sub forum, that forum is for asking questions and getting answers.
2. There's a sticky, 3rd one down, it's titled "***Informative Links*** - Read before clicking "New Thread"". Click that, you should get to here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618768
3. Right there on top, 2nd link is "Root the Nexus one Tutorial" with the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612858 Click it.
4. Follow to the directions. If you have issues, ask in that thread.
Helpful enough? LOL

Rom Noob.

I'm thinking about getting a new ROM as the one I have is stock and is utterly poop. Can you choose one and not ever need to change it again and it will stay the same speed for ever? I have a few questions that I hope you could all answer.
How do I install once downloaded a ROM
If I was to install a ROM and it did not work do I just do a hard reset to get it back to standard?
Once I have a new ROM can I still use apps that I have if I install them again?
Should I back up files I have atm and how?
wow
Have you read even a single postin this section of the forum?
all of thoseare answered at least 10,000 times already. If you look up there is even a thread with comparisons of ROMs now, how about starting that and then working from there.
No need for the WOW comment, I'm a bit impatient at times I will have a read about but would still like my questions answered.

thats one thing you dont want to be mate, impatient when it comes to flashing roms, for eperienced flashers its a 5 minute job, but for newcommers its easy to **** up.
I would suggest spending some time reading up about it before jumping straight in at the deep end.
Check the link in my sig and also the ones posted by shum97.
Good luck.

Just rooted my phone for the first time.

Ok, first off i'll say i don't have much android knowledge. I did successfully root it following a video. I now have one click lag fix installed. Now, someone please answer these for me
1. Now that its already rooted successfully, is bricking still possible? or is that only something that happens during trying to root.
2. What is a good way to backup everything on my phone? and where do i find it?
3. What are cool apps or widgets to have that can only be used on a rooted phone?
4. Lastly, will someone point me in the direction of a manual or instructions on how to install custom roms and how to get froyo.
Thanks!!
No offense, but did you try searching the forums prior to posting this? All of these questions have been asked and answered many, many times already.
yeah but id really like them answered how i asked them that way i don't **** my phone up because i don't have the most knowledge, i appreciate it though. If you don't mind would you provide some links for me please?
Look at the sticky on the top of the page.
The sticky literally answers your questions in that order. No joke.
And the Dev section has a similar sticky in it when you are good and ready.

Update android NAND rom without losing data?

Hey,
Was wondering if it was possible to upgrade a NAND rom without loosing all my apps, contacts, images etc. Reason being that I have a very early build which has some missing features such as GPS and I really need them. I have been using this build for a while now an have added new contacts, installed apps and have a lot of data on it generally. Is there any way that I can update to a new build whilst keeping my data?
Thanks in advance

if u upgrade u're rom by ClockWorkMod all app and sms and . . . still alive and dont change.

in this topic a video show u how can u upgrade u're rom with ClockWorkMode.
It amazes me that there are people in these forums who are smart enough to to install android rom on there phone, but they still can't figure out where to post a question. There is a forum for questions and there is a forum android development, and yet they still pick the development forum for questions. Why is this concept so hard to understand. Haven't you noticed that there isn't any other questions being asked in this forum except yours?

Its because they know more people view the nand development forum than the Q&A forum so they have more chance of getting an answer to their question.
I noticed a while ago a mod from another xda forum posting a question in the nand dev forum for that very same reason.
Simple solution, don't answer people who start question threads in dev forums until they are moved to the proper place.
Regards.
Titanium Backup
The name is Titanium Backup

So you don't want people to answer your question in the nand dev forums until it is moved to Q&A forums. Then why didn't you just post in the Q & A forum in the first place. You saw another person posting in the nand dev forum, so now you feel like you should do the same. So now other people will see your question and then will post there own questions in the nand dev forum and the trend will continue. The last thing everyone wants is the nand dev forums flooded with questions. By the way, a quick search in the forums, you could have found an answer to your original question.

If you bothered to read my reply i was agreeing with the person i quoted "YOU" and was only stating the reason some people are posting questions in the Dev forum. Example,,,, the mod who had posted a question in the Nand Dev forum for that very reason.
I was also saying people should not answer questions put in the dev forums until it has been moved to the proper place. They will then have to wait until it has been moved which could be hours if the mods are not about or busy. Getting a quick reply in the dev forum only encourages others to do the same.
If you can find any question i have started in a Dev form you can have my HD2 for free.
Idiot.
I seem to have started a row. I appoligise for starting this thread where I did. I hope you two can still be friends! Thanks for the help will use the clockwork mod as soon as I can!

You can't use CWM unless the ROM is CMW friendly.
You need Titanium Backup - free in the market. (The paid version is WELL worth it though!)

When I click that link I get the following. Has the thread been deleted or am I not permitted access because of my post count? It says you cannot post with less than 10 posts, but it doesn't say you cannot view. Am I doing something wrong?
knickfan5745, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Help needed. Can't update to 2.2.1 because phone is rooted

I rooted the phone and now can't update to the latest version Oxygen 2.2.1 automatically
Is there any way around the problem?
If you have rooted your phone, you probably also have replaced the original recovery with twrp. In that case, just download the 2.2.1 ota zip from the ota thread in this forum and flash it manually in twrp.

Best regards

Yes there is a way around: search. Because this question has been answered BILLION AND BILLION times. Even if you are a new to XDA, you should know there is rules. You should know there is a search bar located in top right of your screen. There is a index on this forum which gives you link to @Spannaa's thread where he groups all OTA and Stock ROMs + a tutorial to update when you're root. I gave you all information needed.

There is no need to be rude, I actually searched several pages before posting my question, as I was pretty sure the question had most likely been asked before. Certainly don't think it's been asked BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of times.
But thanks for your help, I will be sure to do a more THOROUGH search next time I think about posting

Buddy download the Signed flashable zip - Oxygen OS 2.2.1: OnePlus2Oxygen_14_OTA_012_all_1602261837.zip from the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/rom-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-roms-ota-t3209863
Flash it via twrp or any other customer recovery that you may have. Post that you would have to flash supersu again.

I agree to him, you do not need to be rude, this community is about helping others so it is not a big deal if you typed the solution. If you look at it , it would have taken less less words than the long comments which you posted.
HOW THE HECK COULD YOU NOT FIND IT. You obviously didn't didn't search very hard my son
I concur,no way he searched.. it's always 1 of the 5 under OnePlus 2 general.
The fact that OP had his phone rooted indicates he probably has some basic knowledge of unlocking bootloader, flashing recoveries/ROMs..etc and therefore should be resourceful look up the solution himself be it on XDA or not. The point is with an easy, and somewhat obvious solution to such a common problem (tbh I too had this exact same issue when I first got the phone, but I knew then I had to do a manual flash) surely people will get frustrated when asked.

I agree we are here to help, but come on, a question that has been answered so many times, in many threads, doesn't deserves one more topic. It reminds me the fingerprints problem on CM13 when it didn't work yet: it was about 2 or 3 question about it per page: "is fingerprint working???", "does fingerprint working". Come on, there is search function, so why don't use it ? Imagine if we create a thread every time we have a problem with our device but this problem has already been solved. Imagine state of the forum after all those threads. And yeah, as said above, if this man as his phone rooted, well, I think he has some basics knowledge about OnePlus Two.
