With an unlocked bootloader on the AT&T Atrix, will it be possible to use NVflash?
I've heard and read on the LG Optimus 2x/G2x forums that with NVflash, it's a lot more advantageous than Recovery.
I don't have a problem using tenfar's recovery or anyone elses but with an unlocked boot loader I figure this subject should receive some attention again

Hello, is there any way to check if my bootloader is unlocked? I want to install CWM but i don't know if i unlocked the bootloader correctly, after copying it and writing reboot in adb the phone just turned off. But it did start with no problems after i turned it on after that, and after that i copied the bootloader and it had a different MD5 than the backup i made. Also my firmware is 4.1.2 E61020g-EUR-XX, does it mean i have v20 baseband? I just want to be sure before i flash CM 10.2 because i don't want to brick my phone.
bump. No one knows how to check this? Or maybe is there a way to unbrick my phone if the bootloader is locked and i flash CWM? If there is a way to unbrick then i will just flash it and hope that there will be no brick.
flash cwm and boot into it, if it shows the cwm, the bootloader is unlocked
if it not unlocked, it will show an bootloader security error or something like that
But if it shows the error what will i do then? I don't want to lose my phone.
is there any all in one tool for unlocking bootloader, rooting, and installing a recovery for the g2?
New to rooting and unlocking bootloaders. I've managed to get through the rooting process but now i'm noticing I need to do something like unlocking the bootloader. I have no idea what im doing and would like a link to instructions or someone to walk me through the process. I've tried google but am unable to find anything.

A boot loader is the code that executes specific system properties during boot. The perks of having an "unlocked" boot loader is that you can root and install custom firmware. Well the Sprint Galaxy S5 (SM-900P) already has an unlocked boot loader from Samsung. The Verizon and AT&T variants of the S5 only have a locked boot loader. Basically a "locked" boot loader is the boot.img that's been encrypted so nobody can make changes to the boot loader without exploitive means or exclusive software development. Meaning a difficult and potentially unstable root (if ever found) and probably no AOSP firmware.
T-Mobile also has a variant that is unlocked at the boot loader.
I have a doubt that,In some of the devices we can install twrp using adb commands without rooting our device. But in many new generation devices there are always posts or videos about, first rooting the devices and then installing twrp.
So, what are the reasons that we don't directly flash twrp on moto g5 using adb commands, and first we prefer getting device unlocked by getting unlock code.
And for my general doubt can anyone please explain me what does "unlocking a bootloader" means and what does "OEM" means. Also if i unlock OEM using developer options it doesn't show up in the bootloader menu.
I request to please explain elaborately as I am just new to all this.
To flash Twrp you need unlocked bootloader. Rooting has nothing to do with it, that is OS side. If bootloader is unlocked, you can fastboot flash Twrp. However, I suggest if you are unsure but want to have custom ROMs, you should use the tool that does it all for you.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/development/toolkit-moto-g5-plus-toolkit-root-t3605203
This tool will get your unlock information which you must submit on the moto unlock site. They will send you email with your bootloader key. Once you unlock bootloader through the tool, you can also flash twrp through the tool. When you have flashed twrp, you must wipe data in twrp and flash SuperSU to get past the data encryption. There is plenty of info around here on these subjects, I would suggest to read very carefully all the guides before continuing.
Hello friends,
Need help here. I am willing to buy T-mobile variant of V20. Its on firmware H91010t march security update. I searched all over the forum for the last one hour but could not get the clear cut answer. If this device can be bootloader unlocked. Can I downgrade to any unlockable older version and unlock the bootloader or now its not possible? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yeah the H918 is bootloader unlockable, however you need to use a root exploit in order to utilize it as there are limited fastboot commands available.
If you're not familiar with Linux though you should wait for the automated version of the exploit to be released so you can make sure you don't mess anything up.

Thanks bro. Please clarify one more thing. It says we must have bootloader unlocked before proceeding this process. So T-mobile varient comes boot loader unlocked?

It comes locked, but it can still (and must) use fastboot oem unlock to unlock the bootloader (the reason exploits are needed is because the h918 fastboot can not flash anything). As usual fastboot oem unlock will factory reset the device so make backups.
As far as rolling back, don't rollback too far or youll brick: just roll back to the version explictly named in the lafsploit guide.
you must enable developer mode and turn on usb debugging <~~~~ in about phone section find the Build number and click it 6-7 times to enable the developer mode option. after that follow the fastboot oem unlocked commands, after unlocking the bootloader. if you want to roll back on firmware DO NOT go before H91810p or you will brick your phone, so your options are h91810p ,q ,r,s, or t which your on. follow the lglaf h918 information in the xda forums. go into search and type lglaf h918. hope this helps
