ROMs reviews

Hello again, X8 users!
As there are many messages from people, willing me to start this thread, I''ll do it.
The fact is, that there are people, who don't have an opportunity to try the most interesting roms because of the traffic or time, and they want to know if it worth to be used or not.
So I have some reviews of the roms, showing it's main features and if something doesn't work properly
As my youtube channel specializes in latest custom ROMs from our dear developers and latest interesting apps, I'll post here these reviews, as many people don't know about them.and answering questions.I''ll try to take the most popular ones and post them.

Hi Disastery
Just saw your you tube video for 2.3.3 gingerbread sense. Is there any internet connectivity / data through mobile network yet??
Please include MiniCM6 1.0.0 by ponanovn. thanks
In your video* Floyo 0.20 how u moved ur app to sd? And how u install angrybirds? I use Floyo 0.20 too but cant move to sd and install angrybirds -.-"
*
You can try wiping cache and if this doesnt work try downloading the .apk file ( google it) install the apk and then uninstall the app and then it should work
Hi, can you tell me wich version of Doodle Jump you got, and also can you pm a link where you got it ? Thanks.
Do review Srom-2.2.1FloyoX8-V2 by zousoum96&stelios97 or ill call you cheating.
I post only the most interesting roms, srom rom is a copy of minicm, so I don't think that it's neccessary to do it.
I guess it would be better if UI was in english, and it ain't really a review, rather showcase. Would be better if you actualy talked about the rom rather then just sliding through menu and opening apps.
But I like the overall idea. Thanks for taking time a showing us custom roms

It would be better, I know. But I'm Russian, so there are a lot of people from many countries, who watch me, so it would be more convinient to show the roms and do some annotations...
link to 2.3.3 sense??....
i verry like....
grettings....
language question
Is it true that all 2.2 ROMs have got english language? I mean what languages have got 2.2 ROMs? English is OK, but I want my language in it. Is it possible?
(the other thing is a rumor that states all 2.3-s contains my language too, not just english. How is it possible?)
Thanks in advance.
I like 2.3.3 GingerBread Sense by racht ROM which look the best as I am a sense lover

LOL of course it is possible, root your 2.1 rom, copy all from System/ app folder in your SD Card, install Android 2.2/2.3 and install the apps from original rom , There you go, original SE apps

Some of the apps will run without modifications like Tower Bloxx.
what about track id? i'd love to see this app on GB
Many stock apps need SE framework to run,i also like that walkman app, anyone can tell us how to modefiy these apps to work with 2.2/2.3?
the original messages, trackid are the ones i'm keen to have on 2.2 or 2.3

tower bloxx is a game.. not an app what needs the se framework
You can use Soundhound instead of track ID
Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk
Indeed. Soundhound works great (H)
Even works with just humming. Everybody in my house are like crazy finding out songs that didn't know the name.
I would need Roadsync because I consider it already payed with the phone.
If I want to use any other exchange mail application I would need to pay it.
is there a way to copy it to custom ROM's
can somebody try it?
thank you!

[Q] Why I have missing featured apps ???

I need your help guys and devs for one problem. I had to downgrade from wildhero (2.3.3 sense) to 2.1 cuz I needed more stable rom for a few days. I choosed one and flashed it, but the market didn't show most of the featured apps, like Skype, My Tracks, Google Sky Map, Xda devs, Tapatalk and many more. I used Search and it's the same - they're not in the results.I thought its location problem but it isn, cuz after a lot flashing different roms I haven't any problems till now. Tried 3 different 2.1 sense roms - its the same - same missing apps. Now when I flashed back this wildhero 2.3.3 sense rom (ver1.2.1) everything is fine , like it should be. I think its 2.3.3 Sense problem , somehow it restricts old android`s version market.. its wired... could you help me somehow ?? please its important to know !!
It is probably due to the fact that those apps need a newer API so it restricts you from downloading it to your phone with an older firmware.
BTW, you said you use Skype? Do you start getting it getting choppy after 30 seconds? I am trying to use it with Fusion (offshoot of Froyo) on my HTC Hero and am finding that happening. What OS are you using?
Thanks,
A
Yeah, mate , I supposed so, but I'm looking for solution. Skype is running well, even very well surprisingly, I'm using WildHero 1.2.1 now, but with older roms like VillianRom12 and 13 was running well too.

P.S. I noticed that when I search for something , in this case were Skype, Sky Map, Astro file manager, and few other apps - the results are all in japanese, korean or chinese language and nothing to do with the searched word .. isnt that strange .. ??? I'm from Bulgaria , far away from these countries.

Custom ROMs vs stock apps

Hi all, can I just check if there is anyway we can get back stock apps like Car Panel in custom ROMs? It was something that is really cool that I really hope it can work as well on Sense 3.0 ROMs..
someone help ~!
Yes you can. There are many. I know if your phone is rooted you can go get it our of your app folders. I'm sure there others. Go search for the apk on the net.
pretty much all sense based roms should have that app
Which is your BUILD (ROM) ? It's strange that you haven't that app. Did you searched Google for .apk ?

[How to][Updated] root a clean GB-released by yourself

This method should be working in the upcoming UK GB too.
use this one-click tool to root:

for everyone, morelocale2 works in this rom, but only in gapps... stock apps doesnt have other languages...
For me, changing the location, the phone number mask was correct..
Is this safe to put on a UK sim free Milestone - Is the ROM in english?

this rom is working fine, faster and Launcher is so cool.. but you need to customize many things, because of china social capabilities and no gapps preinstalled...
no bugs at the moment... but is too early to say anything... =D
no gapps preinstalled - What does that mean & what are they?
It means that u have to install by youtself... XD
You can find a package here
use defy bootmenu to apply it and make u sure that have enought space on /system...

When you flash a SBF, it flashes the kernel too.

Thanks, but what a huge pain in the butt this is to accomplish. Especially if you don't remember all the key combinations for stock recovery and bootloader mode, how to enter cwm, then realize this wipes cwm (well maybe it doesn't, I couldn't find an easy way to run it) and you have to install droid2bootstrapper from your SD card as there is no market or any Google apps, then install Google apps via cwm, because the stock recovery won't accept it. Then you get a runaround with the kernels and rooting the darn thing, then the asshole won't accept my correct motoblur credentials, then you have to clean all the crapware using titanium backup pro, then you configure your google apps, reinstall all the apps you had previously and now you're done, not entirely sure if it was worth it...
Some icons are more refined in comparison to the earlier leak, and the radio seems a bit more stable, we'll see tomorrow in low signal areas.
I had problems installing google apps.
All in all I didn't think it was worth the effort - I'll wait till the English version comes out.
Quadrant - 1769
Linpack - 17.1 MFLOPS
Not bad.
any idea to insert "normal english" motoblur account? like twitter, facebook, bebo etc...
