[ALERT] Bell Listing Galaxy SII - Coming soon! - Galaxy S II General

I'm not sure if anyone has posted or noticed this: http://galaxys2.bell.ca/en/
It's finally coming to Canada. (Probably July 14th)
Their homepage currently does not link to the SGS2 page.

Wow, they just launched the Sensation also. And you guys were *****ing that you're always last to get the cool phones.

YES
Its about time... man the wait is killing me...
thanks for this amazing post.
Day one buy for sure...

I wonder if it will be the actual 9100 or a slight variation? It looks like the full i9100 to me which is good

Photo Preview of SGSII
Check out the photo preview of the Canadian SGSII
http://www.rgbfilter.com/?p=15028
One picture shows the following info:
Baseband version: I9100MUGKF4
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9100MUGKF4-CL280592 [email protected]#10
Build Number: GINGERBREAD.UGKF4

It's model number is i9100M. I guess it'll have the same updating issues as the the i9100T in Australia. It'll be interesting to see what's different that earned it a new model designator.

The original Galaxy S on Bell is the I9000M. Virtually identical to the international version except with some Bell bloatware preinstalled and a compatible radio. The good news is that it is compatible with all the I9000 custom ROMs. Hopefully that will be the case with the SGS2 as well.
Was leaning towards getting a Galaxy tab 10.1 but this phone is soooo hot.

Yeah I'd be interested in seeing the differences as well. I know the i9000 Bell model was the i9000M so would make sense that their sgs2 would be the i9100M. If its the same as how the 9000M can flash 9000 roms/kernels, hopefully the 9100M will be compatible with all the same kernels and roms as the 9100. Its nice to have all the devs in one locations instead of it becoming scattered across variants

And I just bought one from the UK -_-
Any word on pricing?

Has anyone heard if Telus will be carrying this phone as well?
I've heard that they might be, but I'm surprised that they aren't advertising it at all. Perhaps they might be releasing it after Bell.
Does anyone know how difficult it might be to unlock the Bell variant?
Thanks!

Don't worry its money well spent: ) I've had mine for over a month and haven't looked back. Bell is still charging 599.95 for the Atrix so can only assume it will be that price off contract or possibly more. And with taxes will be close to 700 I would assume. So really buying from UK you're no further ahead or behind. Except maybe warranty claims. Unless of course you are with bell and have an upgrade coming. You can always sell the UK version if so. They're selling for a lot on kijiji

SGSII confirmed on three networks so far
SGSII will be released by Bell Canada, Virgin Mobile, and SaskTel.
They all use Bell's network so it is not that surprising... not sure about rogers or telus.
SaskTel is offering it for $79.99 w/ 3year contract. amazing price, hope bell would have something similar.
Its time to say bye-bye to Wind.

Yes I know, I just want some information about the stock ROM that it ships with. I maintain pages for stock Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, and Xoom firmware on my website http://www.randomphantasmagoria.com and I just want to make sure this US GSM version doesn't come with some unique build of 4.0.4 that we haven't seen yet. That's all. Just send me a PM when you get the phone and it'll take 5 minutes of your time, I promise!

Yeah, it didn't lose value; you just paid inflated prices, because it wasn't available in the US.
I paid a little more ($15 more, after shipping+taxes) than this a month ago for the NTT Docomo version, and I'm OK with this. I still have a warranty through Negri, and now that it's officially available from Google, I'm hoping getting it repaired will be met with little-to-no resistance.

Galaxy Nexus is the latest smartphone from Google featuring Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich (with Android Beam and Google+ mobile hangouts), the best Google mobile services and fastest updates directly from Google.
This unlocked Galaxy Nexus also has Google Wallet pre-installed, so you can pay quickly by tapping your Galaxy Nexus wherever MasterCard PayPass is accepted. Get $10 in your account as a Google Prepaid Card after you activate Google Wallet.

Now umm how about opening it up to other countries. I wish I didn't get one on another three year contract a few months ago if it were this price i'd but outright.
This also boosts the rumour of Google opening up their own store for devices.
I can also see everyone on the Marketplace freaking out right now..
I just jumped for joy, I put my HTC Amaze 4G on Craigslist someones coming in about an hour to pick it up for $280 with ICS 4.0.3 on it a leaked update and I'm picking up this Galaxy Nexus.
Bought mine this morning. Selling the wife's G2x. We'll have the GSII and the Galaxy Nexus. I bought it for her, but hopefully she'll share!

I'm not quite sure of this, but if you have a local Best Buy they might cover it under the GeekSquad Black Tie plan. I've never asked GS if they cover devices you bought from somewhere other than Best Buy, but it's definitely worth a shot. If anyone knows whether or not they do feel free to reply to my post.
Is there more than one model of GSM Galaxy Nexus?
I imagine that the $399 offer will drive down the price on the used market on EBAY, and I'm wondering if all the GSM Galaxy Nexus are identical. I know there are differences between other Samsung manufactured units meant for the European market when compared with the US carrier versions. For example some European models have FM radios and US versions don't.
Does this work with other European, Croatia to be specific, carriers without problems? I have some friends in the US which can buy it for me.
It is supposedly locked to US carriers only (but unlocked to any US carrier)
You would probably have to unlock it further, unless Samsung locked it down like the Motorola Photon
It says: With devices on Google Play, you can buy an unlocked Galaxy Nexus phone that will operate on more than 200 GSM providers worldwide, including AT&T and T-Mobile in the US.
So I guess it works with my operator(Tele2). It only states in US it will not work on Verizon and Srint.
I was asking more if US phones have different hardware parts or whatever, as compared to European models. But if iPhone works here, I guess this phone does as well. Just wanted to make sure.

I have the original Nexus One. I used mediaNet for about four months before AT$T forced me to switch. I argued for another 6 weeks or so, kept giving them the imei of my HTC startek but in the end, I caved.
I am very tempted with this, although in some ways it seems like a side step and not a leap forward. I have been very happy with the N1.
Ironically, I am still with AT$T, still unhappy there, but not much for choices because of coverage and my kids keep eating up my upgrades. So I pay full price for my phone and full price at AT$T.
But I can say I'm not locked into a carrier???

I wouldn't exactly call the VZW version the same as the GSM version.
Aside from the obvious CDMA vs. GSM difference, the CDMA version is heavier and thicker. Heck, you can't even swap batteries between the two so there are differences in the actual hardware.
Just placed an order. Hope it works with AT&T's medianet.

Unlocking the galaxy line is always easy , only after a month you will see a lot of unlocking service on ebay for as low as $20 .
I also dont see the point of unlocking the note 2 as it would be available in almost all carriers .

That is terrible customer service on never-msrp's part. You bought it for 650, he should HONOR it. My seller, techno, he actually went so far as to give me a refund of 50 dollars when I purchased a note 2 for 709 a few hours before it went down to 659.. so yeah I bought 2 note 2's for 659. I'm so happy! Techno is now my favorite eBay seller and I'm telling everybody about his great services.
The reason for me to get a international HSPA version is to get faster firmware update. Unless N7100, N7105, or any LTE version share same firmware, n7100 most likely will get update first

My reasons are:
1. Unlimited HSPA+ on AT&T's network for just $10.
2. Faster firmware updates.
Those are the only reasons. I couldn't care less about LTE (whats the point of it when you're limited to only 3GB?)

Xperia Z1 possibly on AT&T or T-Mobile

Just called Sony to get a new charger for my ion and happened to ask about the Z1. Apparently they have a contract with AT&T and that more than likely it will be released to them, if not T-Mobile. This could be another 6 months from now, but for those of you, such as myself, who have AT&T i thought this was good news. Hopefully it will put Sony on the map and allow them to release more high-end phones in the US on major carriers.

This is nice news! It's a shame I don't see much in the way of any hint as to when this may come out in the U.S., I really hope it's not another six months, I'm not willing to spend $800 on this thing as much as I like it :/

Could it be the 14 spring model, since somebody mentioned that att's not going to carry any Sony this year

Not gonna argue with that, sounds even better to me. And remember, "this year" is almost over
@evleaks just tweeted a T-Mobile branded Z1 today.

I see what ur saying about not willing/wanting to pay $800 for this phone, but i've had my C6903 for about a week now on T-Mobile LTE and all i can say is that it's nothing short of AWESOME. It's the first phone in quite a while that feels premium enough to keep for a while... and i've had ALOT of phones (about 6 just this year). And did i mention LTE! And another plus of the unlocked version: bluetooth internet sharing right out of the box! :good:

Great to hear! It sounds like you got the LTE version in time since it looks like T-Mobile is going to carry it, but not AT&T. Just out of curiosity, what kind of download/upload speeds are you getting and where are you based? I'm in NY, and on AT&T -- when LTE was first introduced here, I was getting 30 down and 40 up, but nowadays, it's about 10 up and down. I may make the jump of carriers if the speed and network is OK.
Based on the EVLeaks photo, it seems it's a slightly modified version that will come out with T-Mobile, so, we'll see. Man, it's great being a consumer in a competitive market -- it sounds like Sony may be coming out with a new flagship in early 2014 using the WhiteMagic panel (http://www.androidauthority.com/jdi-super-bright-full-hd-displays-282810/) and with that one, hopefully Sony decides to go full force in the US. I'm also liking the rumors I'm hearing about the Samsung S5 thus far (water-resistant/proof, octacore, etc.). Decisions, decisions, decision!!!
where did you guys ordered yours? do you need an account on Sony to order one? or did you order it here in the States?
Thanks
I just picked up a Z waiting for the Z1 to be released on T-Mobile and the rep said "soon".
So I ran across this on the T-Mobile UK site http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-monthly/sony-xperia-z1-black/
Why isn't this available on T-Mobile US?
I bought my z1 off Craigslist. I'm on t-mobile 70 $ month unlimited data text and calls. I'm in Philadelphia. This is the speeds I get

I don't remember about the other models, but I ordered a c6906 model, Telus branded from Canada, and it has LTE Bands for both T-Mobile and AT&T.

Damn, I forgot about that. Oh well, I take care of my stuff, and haven't been unfortunate enough to have anything severely damaged. I just hope there aren't any defects to worry about
I have a c6903 on tmobile. Insured for 6.99$month is fine enough for me. C6906 has all the lte bands. By the time this hits USA carriers it'll be old

Same here. Got a C6903 from Clove UK along w/the SW2 for free. i didn't opt for a warranty but take care of my phones.
so far it works great on Tmobile and good on ATT and 3G only. Tmobile you can get LTE/4G if you have it in the area.
